Heir to the British throne Prince Charles called for a “vast military-style campaign” to combat climate change as he opened the COP26 summit in Glasgow on Monday.
Prince Charles, Duke of Edinburgh, called on the governments of the world to take a “war-like footing” to solve the supposed climate crisis.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us just how devastating a global cross-border threat can be, climate change and biodiversity loss are no different. In fact, they pose an even greater existential threat, to the extent that we have to put ourselves on what might be called a war-like footing,” Charles said.
Claiming that “time has quite literally run out,"

NEW YORK — Health officials on Friday offered more evidence that vaccinations offer better protection against COVID-19 than immunity from a prior infection. Unvaccinated people who had been infected months earlier were 5 times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people who didn’t have a prior infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded in a new study. “These data show, pretty strongly, that the vaccines are more protective against symptomatic COVID,” said Dr. Mike Saag, an infectious disease expert at the University of Alabama. President Joe Biden promised the United Nations COPS26 Climate Summit on Monday he would remake the American economy, abandoning carbon based fossil fuels and focusing on renewable energy.
The president spoke to the summit after struggling to stay awake for the opening remarks from world leaders about the importance of addressing the issue of global warming.
Biden said he was planing “a marathon” for the United States economy that would “transform the largest economy in the world into a thriving, innovative, equitable, and just clean energy engine of net zero for a net-zero world.”

Following a Monday press conference, where Sen. Joe Manchin said he needed "more clarity" on the Biden administration's Build Back Better framework, Rep. Cori Bush called him out in a statement for being one of two key Democratic holdouts on the bill. "Joe Manchin's opposition to the Build Back Better Act is anti-Black, anti-child, anti-woman, and anti-immigrant," the representative from Missouri said in her statement. "Joe Manchin does not get to dictate the future of our country." The Build Back Better reconciliation bill focuses on, in part, climate change solutions along with child care and medical care. Biden’s weekend in Rome took on an increasingly surreal quality as the weekend progressed. The weirdness started on Saturday when he arrived with an 85-car entourage to attend a G20 summit that was purportedly focused on “climate change” (snip) By Sunday, Biden missed an important photo op, claimed he was playing elevator games, used a reference to Mussolini while in Rome, may have been a COVID carrier when he met with the Pope, and had an ugly rumor following him. (snip) Psaki last spoke to Biden on Tuesday and then went into quarantine on Wednesday. On Friday, Biden, sans mask, met with the Pope.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.
Psaki is not traveling with President Joe Biden on his international trip, and last week cited a family emergency as the reason for not going. On Sunday, she said it was because members of her household tested positive, even though she had not at that time.Today, I tested positive for COVID,“ Psaki said in a statement on Sunday. “While I have not had close contact in person with the President or senior members of the White House staff since Wednesday — and tested negative for four days after that last contact

“Let’s go, Brandon,” says the right…and the left.
As first covered by The Hill, a new poll found that a majority of Democrat voters believe that when it comes to 2024, Biden needs to be left behind in favor of someone more capable and, on top of that, able to win against a Republican contender:
The NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist poll found 44 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents believe that a new nominee will give them their best shot at victory in the next presidential election, while 36 percent want the party to stick with Biden. Another 20 percent aren’t sure.
The findings are a foreboding sign

A nurse opposed to getting vaccinated against COVID-19 filmed herself apparently being walked out of her workplace at a Kaiser Permanente health facility by security personnel as she spoke about religious beliefs. “I am being escorted out of Kaiser Permanente Hospital for my religious beliefs–because I don’t want to get the jab,” she said. “And I asked all day for someone to explain to me why my sincerely held religious beliefs were not good enough for Kaiser. And no one was able to do that for me.”(Snip)“Let me ask you, do you believe in religious freedom?” she asked rhetorically,

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is reporting a new high in the bullying of Muslim children in California public, charter and non-Islamic private schools. In a statewide survey of 708 Muslim students aged 11 to 18 years old, 55% reported “feeling unsafe, unwelcome or uncomfortable at school because of their Muslim identity,” the highest level in five such reports since the biennial study began in 2013, CAIR-CA reported. Hussam Ayloush, head of the civil rights group’s California chapter, told The Washington Times that the results confirm American Muslims have “faced growing challenges due to Islamophobia” in popular culture and public hate crimes during the past 20 years

First Lady Jill Biden arrived in Naples, Italy Monday afternoon to tour a DOD-funded school, splitting off from husband, President Joe Biden, who traveled to Scotland to participate in the COP26 climate summit.
Biden arrived at the military airport, Mario De Bernardi, outside of Rome, wearing a white dress and dark pink blazer. She paired her outfit with a matching pink face mask, a blue scarf and taupe boots. She spent several minutes on the breezy tarmac greeting military personnel and hugging staff who accompanied her on the G20 trip to Rome, before taking off for Naples.
