With polls in Virginia now showing Republican Glenn Youngkin leading the gubernatorial race, there’s a sense of panic emanating from the Terry McAuliffe campaign. At one point earlier in the month, I believe McAuliffe felt he had the ability to go ahead and sew things up, especially given Virginia’s heavy blue lean. That strategy included bringing in Barack Obama, Stacey Abrams, and Joe Biden to rally support. But Virginia is an odd state that has seen wild electoral fluctuations over the last decade. As first covered by The Hill, a new poll found that a majority of Democrat voters believe that when it comes to 2024, Biden needs to be left behind in favor of someone more capable and, on top of that, able to win against a Republican contender:
The NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist poll found 44 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents believe that a new nominee will give them their best shot at victory in the next presidential election, while 36 percent want the party to stick with Biden. Another 20 percent aren’t sure.

Way back on Sept. 24, President Joe Biden finally paid attention to the southern border when he displayed anger at hard-working U.S. Border Patrol agents, vowing that they “will pay” — for something that did not occur.

With everything going on in Virginia between Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin, the battle over Joe Biden’s agenda had taken a backseat in the news, but that may have changed in a big way today.
Late last week, a vote to push through the bipartisan infrastructure bill was scuttled after progressives refused to vote for it without more than a framework on the “Build Back Better” boondoggle. That was the second time in a month Nancy Pelosi had to pull the plug at the last minute. Yet, by Saturday, Democrats were projecting confidence again. Word was that both bills would be voted on as soon as Tuesday.
Virginia’s Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe abruptly canceled his event in Virginia Beach the day before the election, sparking further speculation on the degree of behind the scenes panic within the McAuliffe campaign less than 24 hours before polls open.
McAuliffe, who spent the weekend campaigning in Northern Virginia, and his Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin, who has been surging in the polls in the race’s final stretch, had events scheduled in Virginia Beach on Monday. However, a spokesperson for McAuliffe said the Democrat’s Hampton Roads event has since been canceled.
While Youngkin will hold an event at Neptune’s Park,

And so, we expect to do very well with the early voting. And the momentum that we’re seeing on the campaign trail is just — it’s just huge, I got to be honest. Everywhere we go, the crowds are giant.
As Democrats contemplate the potential for a stinging loss in the Virginia gubernatorial election, the party appears to remain utterly tone-deaf to the feedback it gets through public polling as they rush to pass President Joe Biden’s spending bills. New polling from NBC, ABC, and Rasmussen demonstrate just how badly Democrats misinterpreted their mandate in 2020.

Joe Biden met with some of the European Union leaders and representatives of 14 nations at the G20 meeting in Rome today. We saw how he seemed, literally and figuratively, almost out of the picture yesterday during the “family” shot of the countries’ leaders.
Today, it started off badly, with Biden showing up 20 minutes late for his remarks.
His excuse? He was “playing with elevators,” he told the other leaders. Alrighty, now. I’m not sure I really want to know what that means.

A new NBC News poll shows that Joe Biden’s approval among American adults has fallen to 42 percent. 54 percent disapprove.
This represents a remarkable shrinkage. In August the same pollsters found America split 49-48 on Biden’s performance, with the marginally larger percentage approving of it. In April, they found that Americans approved of Biden’s performance, 53-39.
Now, only 40 percent of adults approve of Biden’s handling of the economy. An even smaller portion, 37 percent, gives him high marks on a 5-point scale for being competent and effective as president, while 28 percent (most of whom have probably been vacationing in Mongolia) give him high marks for uniting the country.

Let’s be honest, Democrats.
Joe Biden was elected — I will not relitigate the “stolen election” debate in this article — for one reason: to get rid of Donald Trump. Period. The Democrat Party could have nominated a blind, intellectually disabled squirrel, and the results of the 2020 election would not have changed.
But let’s be clear: No one loves Joe Biden.
Moreover, everyone from White House officials to members of Biden’s cabinet to Democrat lawmakers on Capitol Hill to the sock puppets of the so-called “mainstream” media is terrified every time Corn Pop’s pal opens his mouth — at which time he invariably mumbles something else stupid and/or incoherent.

Virginia gubernatorial candidate and former Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) appeared to cancel or skip campaign events only days before Tuesday’s bellwether election.
McAuliffe, on Thursday night, did not show up for a “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV) event in Prince William County.
Instead, the candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Del. Hala Ayala, appeared in McAuliffe’s place. Following the recent trend of Virginia Democrat candidates having low turnout at campaign events, Ayala seemed to be speaking before a smaller crowd.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Sunday she has tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated.
"On Wednesday, in coordination with senior leadership at the White House and the medical team, I made the decision not to travel on the foreign trip with the President due to a family emergency, which was members of my household testing positive for COVID-19," Psaki said in a statement.
"Since then, I have quarantined and tested negative (via PCR) for COVID on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday," she added. "However, today, I tested positive for COVID.
