Even in this white-hot partisan moment, the Senate is a pretty genteel place. Senators view themselves as part of a very elite club -- and tend to treat fellow members with kid gloves. Which is why what Washington Sen. Patty Murray (D) said on Wednesday about fellow Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin all the more eye-opening about the current state of affairs in the world's greatest deliberative body. "We're not going to let one man tell all the women in this country that they can't have paid leave," Murray said. What she was referring to was the apparent decision by the White

Somebody inform Mz Murray that she does not speak for “all the women in this country”...about anything. And along with her esteemed colleague Comrade Bernie, it’s not “one man” but at least 51 Senators who want this piece of garbage legislation to fail. That’s called a majority. And trust me a lot of women in this country are in agreement.

Good for Manchin. If I were a Democrat I'd vote for him. I'd vote for him anyway even If I'm Republican.

One Man? All by himself? So the 50 Republican Senators, and all those Americans that voted to put them in office don't count. Only Democrats count... No, only The Party counts and The Party "will not let", (her words) a duly elected Senator make his own decisions and represent his constituents. Wow. How very Central Communist Party of her. Stalin would have liked her; ie: let her live.

If paid family and medical leave is important to you, then find a job with a company that offers these benefits. My niece works for a family-friendly company (private sector, non-union) that offers 6 weeks of paid maternity leave. There's no need for the federal government to mandate maternity leave.

"We're not going to let one man tell all the women in this country that they can't have paid leave,"
But she’s perfectly happy to have one man (John Roberts) re-write 0bamacare so that the mandates become taxes.

Why is she discriminating against men, who would certainly be entitled to paid leave too, right?

I think Patty Murray has the lowest IQ in the Senate. It's just amazing to me how many truly dumb, ignorant, clueless morons are legislators in this country.

Patty Murray IS the horse that someone rode to work at congress! Well maybe a very dumb mule! Horses are too smart! Glad she is having a rage fit! Does she scream into her bankie at night until she shrieks herself to sleep?

Murray is one of the most stupid, unimaginative, humorless persons to sit in the Senate, but she has that D after her name.

Manchin will not be re-elected to the Senate if he runs wearing the democrat label.
He squeaked by the last time with 49% of the vote in a three way race.
Running as a Republican might get him to keep his senate seat, but that is his only chance.
So, maybe the dems need to attack him with vigor. Mitch needs to sit down with Joe and find out what committees he wants to be on or chair if he puts the democrats in the 51 seat majority.

This idiot is continually re-elected in Washington State. I believe that is proof of vote fraud going on in my state. Too bad my side of the state can't secede from the left hell-hole side.
