The mystery of Japan's disappearing COVID crisis

Original Article

Most of the coverage we provided during Japan’s bungled turn hosting the Olympics this summer dealt with the nation’s spiraling COVID infection rates and lagging mass vaccination efforts. But while they limited the in-person attendance of the actual games, the lockdowns and restrictions the government imposed were fairly mild. People were still allowed to go out to bars and restaurants, albeit with modest capacity limits and the streets were far from empty. The Associated Press described the measures as a series of “relatively toothless states of emergency.” That makes this week’s news all the more puzzling to some medical professionals.

Yes, it's very welcome but quite mysterious. Britain has a marked increase in cases. Cases are going down a bit in the US, but remain very high. FTA: "Part of the decline is no doubt attributable to the country’s accelerated vaccination push. While it started off very slowly, they’ve now surged to the point where 70% of the population has received the shots."

I cant wait until geneticists start explaining the genetic bases for these seemingly contradictory findings, not only in Covid but in all of medicine and pathology. To paraphrase the Bard: The fault lies not in the stars but in our ever-glorious yet oft-accursed genes.

Does nobody remember one of thier Drs --- https://trialsitenews.com/c...----recomending the use of ivermectin about 8 weeks ago?......what needs to be reported (calling all internet sleuths) is the nexus between that action and the current decrease being reported. I believe similar results are/have occurred in India...

OMG doesn't anybody get it? When you host the Olympics, every athlete and every volunteer are doing daily COVID tests. The Olympic ended August 8. The numbers went down when they stopped testing virtually everyone in Tokyo on a daily basis.

Another reason may be that the Japanese are relatively more healthier than people of other nations. So, they have a stronger immune system.

No mystery.....the head of the Tokyo medical council recommended ivermectin about 6 weeks before they were able to eliminate all Wuhan flu restrictions. What a 'coincidence'.....NOT. Just like Uttar Pradesh in India....use ivermectin and wipe out this virus very quickly. Don't use it and use these dangerous "vaccines" and suffer forever.

How many fat Japanese are there? I'm mean the Sumo wrestlers are big, but in general, how many people in Japan are fat or overweight in Japan. Their diet doesn't lend itself to putting on excess pounds. Maybe weight plays a larger role than we're lead to believe. Excess weight does lead to other health issues. Certainly wearing masks and social distancing didn't work.

#10, what you say is true. An author friend has a lot of family in Jersey City and NYC. He visited them last fall, and said that one relative of over a dozen had died, and all of them had gotten the disease. She was "the fat one", according to all his family members, who are not overweight. He pointed out a year ago that obesity was the biggest thing that predicted a bad outcome. About 6 weeks ago.....THIS is what stopped the virus. Ivermectin, just like in India. https://covidcalltohumanity.org/2021/09/02/chairman-of-6000-strong-tokyo-medical-association-supports-giving-ivermectin-to-patients/

Salena Zito warned everyone first, and Punchbowl follows up today with the same message: Joe Manchin means what he says. Democrats and the media may not grasp this as it happens so rarely in Washington, and neither group has included that in its calculations. However, that reality keeps getting clearer and clearer, and the Punchbowl crew warn Democrats to figure it out — fast: Manchin has been remarkably consistent, and all the major media outlets have reported it time and time again. If you’re surprised by what Manchin is saying now, maybe you’ve been really busy, tied up on other endeavors and haven’t listened to or read what he’s said.

According to a recent report, executives at Microsoft were aware of company founder Bill Gates’ behavior with female employees and warned Gates to stop pestering one woman with flirtatious emails. The Wall Street Journal reports that in 2008, executives at Microsoft discovered emails between company founder Bill Gates and a mid-level female employee. At the time, Gates was still employed at Microsoft and was a chairman of the board. In the messages, Gates who was married at the time, appeared to flirt with the female employees and propositioned her. Two of the company’s top executives
Axios Blames American Consumers, Not Bad

Blame the American consumer! That’s the approach liberal outlet Axios used to explain away the atrocious labor shortages affecting the U.S. economy, and not President Joe Biden’s economic policies. Axios published a snobbish piece headlined, “Unruly customers threaten economic recovery.” The outlet’s asinine argument was that “increasingly violent and combative customers,” angry about “long wait times and mask mandates,” were causing workers to quit, hamstringing a recovery that hinges in part on employees “returning to work.” But unlike Axios, The Wall Street Journal editorial board didn’t hesitate to pin the labor shortage blame on the proper culprit: “Bidenomics.”

After wrecking the supply chain, the White House should be begging for mercy from consumers. After all, it was Democrats, including some in the White House, who created the supply chain mess, leaving mass numbers of ships stranded at ports. Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg went on extended family leave without appointing a deputy or telling much of anyone. California's ruling Democrats put into place laws that prohibit independent truckers or trucks more than three years old from collecting containerized merchandise from port offloads. California Democrat union allies kept port labor at banker's hours, unlike their globally competitive rivals. Joe Biden's Fed printed money
The Standard for Discussing COVID Deaths

Yesterday, news broke that Gen. Colin Powell had died after contracting COVID-19. The former Bush official and former Republican was 84-years-old. He was also undergoing treatment for cancer, though, the treatment itself was said to have been going well until he caught the coronavirus. Powell was also fully vaccinated, and that has represented an inconvenient reality for many people. As I’ll explain later, I’m not sure why. But what was so interesting to me is how quickly the standards shifted in regards to how you are supposed to discuss people who die of COVID. For the better part of two years, the predominant assertion

China has denied reports that it tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile earlier this year, insisting instead that it was a routine spacecraft check. The initial report in the Financial Times newspaper prompted concern in Washington, where US intelligence was reportedly caught by surprise. Hypersonic missiles are much faster and more agile than normal ones, meaning they are more difficult to intercept. It comes as concern grows around China's nuclear capabilities. On Monday, foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told a media briefing that a routine test had been carried out in July to verify different types of reusable spacecraft technology.

Once hopeful that they could defy the typical midterm shellacking dealt to the party in power, a series of foreboding developments has rocked that sense of optimism. President Biden’s approval ratings are in free fall, his top legislative priorities have stalled and, just this week, Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) announced that he would retire, making him the first senior House Democrat to bow out ahead of the midterms.

The death this morning of former Secretary of State and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell is sad news indeed. He may not have been someone we always agreed with -- to be honest, sometimes his public statements in his last years were infuriating. But he was honorable, he served honorably, he embodied public service, he served in combat, no slimey scandals were ever associated with his name, and no one ever wondered whether he was so incompetent he had to be doing it by design in an effort to dismantle the U.S., as is heard at times with the current crop of White House incompetents

It’s been a little while since we checked in on how things are going in Afghanistan under the kinder, gentler Taliban. While there is still a limited amount of mainstream media coverage coming out of the country and some reporters remain on the ground in the “safer” areas, much of the focus has shifted elsewhere. (This is to the great relief of the Biden administration, carried out by his willing stenographers in the press.) While I’d love to report that conditions are improving and human rights are slowly reemerging, sadly, pretty much the opposite seems to be the case. Winter is approaching quickly and food is so scarce

I’ve been following Ed Morrissey’s coverage of the ongoing horror show in the Loudoun County, Virginia school district where multiple rapes of children inside school buildings were covered up by the school board. That lasted until the father of one of the victims who had been raped in a school bathroom by a boy wearing a skirt went public. There’s been a different sort of coverup taking place since then in the form of a near-total mainstream media blackout of the story, with a few incomplete exceptions. Despite the fact that the school board clearly appears to have violated state laws regarding sexual assaults, it still seemed as if
