Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) on Wednesday floated a short-term extension of the debt limit in order to avoid a looming default.
“Whether through miscalculation or a deliberate effort to bully their own members into wrecking the Senate, top Democrats have risked adding a default crisis to the inflation crisis, border crisis, and Afghanistan crisis they have already created,” McConnell said in a statement. Republicans “have already made it clear we would assist in expediting the 304 reconciliation process for stand-alone debt limit legislation,” McConnell continued. “We will also allow Democrats to use normal procedures to pass an emergency debt limit extension at a fixed dollar

But, does the wifey approve on behalf of Chairman Xi ? You chinless sell-out and disgrace to the frontier spirit of freedom loving Kentuckians. He"s so busy straddling the political fence, he wore out his britches and tighties and the cojones are down to a nub.

Of course he did. Do these idiots realize that the people who supported Trump don't like weakness? Like it or not we ARE the majority of voters right now. Did they see the rallies? Do they hear the cheers for Trump and the chants for Joe? Are the walls of that bubble so thick that they actually believe that Joe got all those votes? Are they willing to ditch integrity and cave to the "cool kids" just so you'll be invited to all the parties?
Come '22 and then '24 you will have plenty of free time.

I don't trust or believe anything that Yellen says. I am nearly at that same point on McConnell.
Shutting down the federal government would be fine with me. Make it for a couple of years.

The dems could raise the debt ceiling all by themselves using the reconciliation process, and Mitch offered them that out if they did it with a clean bill. At least two reasons why the dems balked at this approach. First, they don't want to own the perception that they are spending out of control. Secondly, the Senate parliamentarian has ruled that they only have one more reconciliation effort available this year and that is their vehicle for the $3.5 Trillion social spending government expansion boondoggle that they are pushing.

It was never a matter of if he would cave. It was just a matter of when. Lucy and the football wins again.

I always thought ol' Billy Jeff with his proclivities and Hildabeast with her ugly pant-suits and Obama with his egregious chin were all pretty nasty.
But the Turtle is the nastiest of them all because he has cemented himself in the position of "representing" Republicans.
Theres a special place in hell for you Mitch. Every day when you wake up and think of new ways to betray Americans, it sinks a little deeper into that pit.

Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell will want you to believe it's a win-win situation. Chuck "Slime" Schumer picks up the dinner tab while Mitch picks up the wine bottle and rental movie. Two peas in a pod.

Knee-jerk negative reaction to McConnell is unwarranted. He's playing his cards well. He's walking a narrow line between keeping Manchin and Sinema from caving, holding his squishy RINOs in line, and not allowing the Democrat media to blame Republicans for a government shutdown.
This is a battle to save America and not losing right now is critical. Give McConnell credit.

Kentucky, PLEASE put this lying, nadless waste of skin out to pasture. We have had enough. Any time a politician says "temporary," "short term." "stop gap," "not permanent," you know that something is going to increase in a big, bad way and it will be permanent. China Mitch is obviously somebody's *itch.

Very trenchant comments by #'s 7 & 14. McConnell is playing his cards as shrewdly as he can, given the realities in today's U.S. Senate. None of us would want his job - this is not a movie, folks.
