A pit bull once owned by canine trainer Cesar Millan mauled one of Queen Latifah’s pets to death, and the reality TV star tried to cover up the attack by instructing his staff to tell the actress that her dog was hit by a car, according to a recently filed lawsuit. The alleged incident is one of the more shocking revelations cited in the legal action against the “Dog Whisperer” star, brought in California by a former gymnast who claims the same dog attacked her in 2017 and ruined her career, TMZ reported.

Pit Bulls make outstanding pets but do not suffer fools well. Current dog is “Buddy,” a 100% American Staffordshire Terrier. People often fail to remember that fear is the ultimate motivator and that dogs this size and strength simply don’t fear you. Training these dogs properly requires much more effort than other canines and should be done by an alpha (male/female) human. There HAS to be a real good story behind one of Cesar’s dogs doing this. Some dogs can’t be messed with. They’ll read you and let you know it. If you immediately react in fear to their presence, you’re already way behind the eight ball. Just sayin’

I really do love dogs. But some dogs need a bullet in the brain because they are dangerous. I still love dogs, but you have to recognize that while 90% or more are wonderful, not all are, and it is somewhat the breed, but more how they are raised.

As always the assumption is the black diva is correct and the lowly Hispanic is vile, dishonest cad. Guess I'll wait until the facts are known but then that is considered racist now. So I'll join those that automatically side with the black diva and dismiss Hispanics.

Maybe trained from an early age pitbulls can be taught to be docile, but once mistrained or mistreated, they're loaded weapons waiting to go off. I worked with a woman who was part of the effort to "retrain" Michael Vick's fighting dogs. I told her point blank that some day she was going to pick up the phone and some parent was going to be screaming at her because one (or more) of those dogs had killed his/her child.

Headline read "Cesar Millan's pit bull..."
First sentence read "A pit bull once owned.."
Which is it? Not sure I believe any of this. Always had the impression Cesar Millan knows his dogs, and wouldn't allow a dangerous dog around anyone.

Having a pit bull is like playing Russian roulette. Most can be great pets and never hurt anyone, and some can savage a loving owner who treated him well. Unfortunately you never know which is which until it's too late.

Nature + nurture. When one or the other is simply wrong, the animal suffers and can cause others to hurt. I have had loving bullies (had one sweet boy who was the best kid dog of all time, the nieces and nephews just used him him as a pillow) and I have known bad bullies. The difference was nature. Sorry Cesar but no amount of training can fix that bad nature. Best to just put the dog down.

Why a pit bull? You never hear of a golden retriever or yellow/black labs ripping off someone's face. And they make great pets and actually become companions. So many dogs that don't have the problems of pit bulls.
why? why? why? Plus, if your pit bull does maul someone, get ready to live the rest of your life in poverty.

#10.. A pure bred golden tore a 5 inch hole in my nieces jaw line, down to the bone. She has the scar today 25 year later. The home owners insurance settled a tidy sum. ALL dogs can be bad.

Never ending debate. I’ve had 4 lab mixes. The first one we only had about a month. He chewed through his harness in the back of my SUV one night driving home and climbed over the seat towards my 2 year old son. I was very upset when I got home. He had already bit my husband. We adopted him from the San Diego Humane Society. Just couldn’t take the uncertaintiry. My husband took him back the next day and told the attendant what happened. Guy says “yeah, he’s been returned twice already”...well, geez, you didn’t think that little factoid was insignificant to a family with a toddler? I was incensed. I had terrible guilt over returning him as I knew his fate. He was going to be put down. It still breaks my heart. We had 3 other lab mixes after that and all were wonderful. So, I don’t know. Nature...nurture...but I think I’d pass on some breeds just because.

I've met Cesar several times and have walked a lot of his dogs when he traveled to location. I'm a trainer myself and a pit bull owner. Don't know about this story or even if it's true.
Any dog, regardless of breed, who is attacked WILL fight back. The breed does not matter. Some dogs fight better than others.
My pit bull was with Cesar's pit bull and they got along fine. Walked them together, etc.
My pit bulls are extremely friendly with people and get along fine with other dogs. That said, if one of my pitt bulls where attacked by a dog they would not back down. My pits get along fine with dogs and DON'T look to start fights.
Dog fights happen. One of things trainers practice is avoiding fights form the beginning (watching body language, etc.) but it they happen to break them up quickly. You know the dogs, which ones might start the fight and which ones won't back down.
Pit bulls are not for everyone and not for the first time owner. I've told a lot of people to never get a large dog -- not because of large dogs being bad -- but because those people automatically give up leadership to their dogs. You can make any large dog dangerous regardless of breed. I've seen a very nasty and unpredictable golden retriever that I would not trust around children.

The pit bull "Junior" was Millan's dog - he died. Junior got along with my pit bull and he walked well with all the dogs. He mostly wanted to play with my female pit bull who he was attracted to. He was a confident dog. At no time did I feel he was going to attack me or anyone. He was one of the dog who traveled all over the world with Cesar. Woman may be out to get money. You do take a risk when working with dogs and it's not for the fearful or timid.
