NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell flubbed an attempt to fact-check GOP Sen. Ted Cruz’s reference to a quote by Shakespeare, inviting some “double, double toil and trouble.” Cruz (R-Texas) was discussing the second Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump on Fox News Wednesday when he invoked a line from Shakespeare. “It’s reminiscent of Shakespeare [in] that it is full of sound and fury, and yet signifying nothing,” he said, reciting a soliloquy from “Macbeth.”

A Shakespeare quote from Macbeth that could have been used during Slick Willie problem with Monica's blue dress: Out damn spot.

It's a good quote and so obviously true.
But for one not so well educated as those using this quote I have my own way of describing this impeachment.
It';s a boatload of BULLS***

Every student in my senior high school class had to memorize that quote. But then I didn't go to an IVY league uni. Only an excellent parochial HS.

The most astute observation about this is that Andrea's stupidity is a perfect microcosm of liberal news bias: the media can't be bothered to do the most basic of fact checks in their eagerness to "get" a conservative.
They also "know" so much that just isn't so. They're living examples of the Peter principal -- so stupid they don't they are stupid.

We read and studied "Macbeth" in our HS literature class. Nasty folks, the Macbeths, both of them.
And Mitchell is an ugly, stupid old leftist bat.

She probably didn't take much Shakespeare because it was too hard for her. I like the first part of the quote, "...a tale told by an idiot." Her ignorance was in full view. Maybe she should keep her big mouth shut.

#3, we had to memorize Mark Antony’s soliloquy in Julius Caesar. “Friends, Romans, Countrymen....” 55 years later, I still remember it.

Even my exchange students could have identified the quote. MacBeth is read in Junior English at our local public high school. So is The Crucible, which seems particularly relevant these days.

Following the new "Fortification" playbook, Andrea and her cohorts should simply announce that the claim that Shakespeare was the author of the quote has been debunked and bid the media and tech to remove any arguments to the contrary!

Us, too, #15, and when I visited the Roman Forum, I stood at the actual location where they stabbed Julius Caesar to death. Learning history via Shakespeare's plays was a good thing.
It is really amazing that the same paving stones and all the foundation stones and many of the colums of the buildings are there in the Forum, and many of the buildings within a the immediate area are fully standing after 2,000 years. The fully intact arch of Septimius Severus is very close by, but was built later. I walked on the same basalt paving stones that all those ancient Roman senators and leaders trod. And the Pantheon is not too far, still fully intact and beautiful after 2,000 years.
Too bad leftist fools like Mitchell are so uneducated. But if they were smart and educated, they wouldn't be leftists, would they?

I texted the full Macbeth quote to my Obama worshiping son-in-law the night Obama accepted the nomination at the 2008 Democratic convention. What a lot of fuss over an obvious narcissistic fool.
That quote has applied to so many over the last twelve years. The current president pretty much tops all fools. He is, actually, a "tool fool" being used by bigger fools.

Might be fun to see Andrea Mitchell go up against Wolf Blitzer in Jeopardy to see if Blitzer's ending result of -4600 could be surpassed.
These people are idiots. They have their jobs because of having passable camera presence, a decent speaking voices and, other than that, who they know or who they rhymes with know. Cooper... that was for you.

She could have searched the correct author in a matter of seconds but leftists have an unshakeable belief that they are always right. Everybody gets things like this confused...who wrote this or that poem, etc. but it's best to check before posting and making a fool of yourself. Don't use google though. it's an evil enterprise.

The beauty in all of this is andrea's ridiculous flub is now her defining moment. It will live on long after she's gone no matter how hard the dem tailpipe-suckers attempt to circle their wagons.
They probably hate her anyway and are enjoying it as much as the rest of us.
