146 years ago today, Democrats attacked a Republican barbecue in Clinton, Mississippi murdering 4 former slaves and 5 white Republicans.
Democrats then in the following days slaughtered another 50-100 African-Americans.
For some reason, you don’t hear much about this massacre these days.
Here is more on this historic massacre, via Mississippi Encyclopedia.
Freedmen first began voting in Mississippi in 1867, and the 1875 election promised to continue the incorporation of black men within the state’s political process. With polls set to open on November 2, the Mississippi Republican Party planned political rallies on September 4 at Utica and Clinton in Hinds County and at Vernon in nearby Madison County.

After an alleged incident inside a classroom involving face coverings, the mother of a 9-year-old child is asking for the dismissal of a substitute teacher from the Clark County School District in Nevada.
The mother talked to FOX5 on the understanding that her identity and face not be revealed. She was concerned that her son’s anguish might be exacerbated at school, but she also wanted other parents to be aware of what is taking place at Reedom Elementary School in Mountain’s Edge.

It takes the MTA up to 15 years to clean each of the subway’s 10,000 gunked-up drains, according to a report published Thursday by the agency’s inspector general. But a new system could streamline the process and help keep the city’s 418 miles of underground electrified subway track dry, the MTA says. “NYC Transit’s annual goal for track drain cleaning is currently 150,000 linear feet. However, with 418 miles of drains in the system, this figure represents only 7% of the total,” the report states. “[A]t that pace Infrastructure would require approximately 15 years to clean the entire system.”

When it emerged a few months ago that Boris Johnson had told Joe Biden of his dislike for the term ‘the special relationship’, it was as if the Prime Minister had committed an act of diplomatic blasphemy. Some critics claimed the comments were evidence of ‘the gulf’ that existed between him and the US President.
Others held it up as proof of Britain’s post-Brexit global isolation. The consensus was that he was playing characteristically fast and loose with the historic alliance forged by Churchill and Roosevelt in the furnace of the Second World War.

There are several reasons why President Joe Biden’s approval ratings continue to sink just eight months into his first term, according to an analysis published Saturday.
“These numbers are a major cause for concern among Democrats nearly a year out from midterm elections in which they will defend razor-thin congressional majorities,” writes W. James Antle III for the Washington Examiner, citing the most recent polling numbers on Biden from RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight. Specifically, he noted that both of those poll aggregate sites have Biden’s approval rating “stuck” in the mid-40s range following negative reaction to five key issues that are pulling down his numbers.

From Twitter to the Taliban, we are witnessing the death of American supremacy.
Mere weeks ago, we did the unthinkable: With thousands of our citizens trapped in Afghanistan, the Biden administration asked the Taliban to extend our deadline for withdrawal. They said no. We said OK.
The United States of America, capitulating to a medieval death cult. Our posture on the world stage is exemplified by our increasingly weak president, head in hands and bending before the White House press corps, unable to explain or defend this unmitigated disaster.

Despite being banned from most social media platforms, former President Donald Trump was still able to get a short and simple Labor Day message across to his supporters, in his latest claim that Joe Biden stole his election victory. Trump transmitted the three-word, all-caps statement on Saturday morning through the mailing list for his 'Save America' Political Action Committee, as first reported by Mediaite. 'September 4, 2021 – Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America,' the message's introduction began.

Lyft and Uber announced Friday they will pay the legal fees for any of their drivers who are sued under Texas’ new law that prohibits abortion after a heartbeat can be detected.
The law allows private citizens to enforce the measure. Though patients may not be sued, any individual can sue the people “knowingly” assisting the procedure, including doctors, those paying for the abortion and clinic workers.
Plaintiffs in litigation cases resulting from the law’s implementation can earn up to $10,000 in damages.

Her partner, Varick Jones, 42, who worked at a restaurant, will also lose his benefits. Their job searches have been unsuccessful so far. “We were surviving off unemployment,” Todd said. “I don’t know what I’m going to do. “I don’t have a job and no way to pay my rent

The fall of Kabul is not the end, as Joe Biden seems to think, of the Afghanistan nightmare. It is the beginning of a never-ending bad dream. Biden and the Pentagon have managed to birth a new terrorist haven, destroy much of U.S. strategic deterrence, and alienate our allies and much of the country. In the hours after the horrific deaths of 13 servicemen, we have been reassured by our military that our partnership with the Taliban to provide security for our flights was wise. We were told that the terrorist victors share similar goals to ours in a hasty American retreat from Kabul. CORRECTION*

On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to intervene in a challenge to S.B. 8, Texas' new abortion law. This unique statute empowers private citizens to sue those who perform or facilitate abortions. President Biden ripped the 5-4 decision, charging that the conservative justices followed "procedural complexities" "rather than use its supreme authority to ensure justice."Biden is wrong. The Court has no sweeping, majestic power to "ensure justice." Indeed, it is a myth that courts can "strike down" laws at all. Rather, judges have a very limited power: to enjoin specific government officials from enforcing laws against specific litigants. The judiciary cannot simply erase statutes from the book.

The latest jobs report for August was disappointing. Job growth fell by more than half and was one-third of expectations. This was partly because of COVID concerns. But we still don’t have nearly enough adult Americans in the work force. Why? Government welfare policies are clearly keeping Americans — millions — from taking jobs. Here is what we know: Across the country, there are between 5 million and 6 million unemployed Americans, but also an all-time record 10.1 million job openings. These are in construction, warehousing, retail, manufacturing, trucking, business services and so on

As Breitbart News reported, President Joe Biden’s administration is looking to turn various military bases in Texas, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Virginia, New Mexico, and Indiana into refugee camps that can accommodate about 50,000 Afghans.
Most of all Afghans headed to military bases for temporary resettlement are arriving on “humanitarian parole,” which does not expire for at least two years. These Afghans are not eligible for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs), P-2 visas, or refugee status.

The United States is staying in “constant contact” with Americans left behind during President Biden’s frantic evacuation from Afghanistan who still wish to leave, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday, offering no timeline for freeing them from Taliban rule.
On Tuesday, the US completed pulling all troops from the 20-year war, and ended their initial evacuation efforts for all Americans and Afghan allies in the country.
US troops helped evacuate more than 116,000 people from Kabul, as the Taliban took over the country, including 6,000 Americans. However, at least 100 Americans remain in the country, and a clear plan or timeline for helping them leave has not been publicly released.
