BAGRAM, Afghanistan — The U.S. left Afghanistan’s Bagram Airfield after nearly 20 years by shutting off the electricity and slipping away in the night without notifying the base’s new Afghan commander, who discovered the Americans’ departure more than two hours after they left, Afghan military officials said.(snip)“We (heard) some rumor that the Americans had left Bagram ... and finally by seven o’clock in the morning, we understood that it was confirmed that they had already left Bagram,” Gen. Mir Asadullah Kohistani, Bagram’s new commander said.(snip) it was invaded by a small army of looters, who ransacked barrack after barrack and rummaged through giant storage tents before being evicted, according

I spent 2 years at Bagram.
It was the finest military air base in the country. Better than Kandahar.
Giving it up was criminal negligence.
Not a mistake. But an intentional crime to humiliate and damage America.

Besides feeling angry towards the powers that be who did this, I feel so incredibly sad for our country. In just 8 months, pResident Biden has brought us down so low that we’re just inches away from hitting bottom

Slinking away secretly in the dead of night? Hell, we should just take a knee and bow in obeisance to the rest of the world. No one will trust us again, not Taiwan, not Europe, no one.

So the Afghan “looters” knew that the Americans had left Bagram Airbase in the middle of the night, but the Taliban Armed Forces who were to take over the base did not?
Such a major strategic move as the US military covertly abandoning the biggest US base in Afghanistan, was not made by some “woke” General, it came right out of Biden’s office at the White House.

The story is that we left early and under cover of darkness to derail any plan among a local terrorist to shoot down the symbolic last plane out. I guess no one was thinking ahead to the fate of last plane out of Karzai International when it might be encircled by hordes of those same terrorists. It still defies logic, though - "the epicenter of America’s war to unseat the Taliban and hunt down the al-Qaida perpetrators" and keep them unseated and hunted down - abandoned in the middle of the night. Trump's plan was to keep 500-1,000 special operators in place there to maintain the mission. We do that in other regions around the world and no one bats an eye. And all those vehicles in the first photo? Not to worry - we took the keys with us. We're so clever, aren't we?

I doubt that the Taliban could have surrounded even a fraction of Bagram's perimeter. Inside we could have kept evacuees sheltered and away from the chaos of Kabul until their flights were ready. There was even a nice supply of basic foods and beverages. The troops would have had housing and access to showers, etc... I have heard the conditions inside the Kabul airport are horrific.

Were Captain Beau Biden alive and stationed in Afghanistan, would "the big guy" have sacrificed him to the ISIS-Taliban, like the recent Marines?
"What would you have done had Beau been there?"

We are being told by Biden, his crew, and Biden’s “woke” military Generals that the Taliban and this newly called out terrorist group called ISIS-K are mortal enemies. If that is so, when the US bugged out of the Bagram Airbase that place contained two prisons full of terrorists of all varieties, including a lot of ISIS-K terrorists. So why if the Taliban and ISIS-K are mortal enemies did the Taliban who then took over after Biden’s retreat from Bagram Airbase release all of those ISIS-K terrorists from those prisons and allow them to abscond back to the ISIS-K terrorist organization. Why? Obviously when it comes to the bottom line because both the Taliban and ISIS-K are both Islamist terrorist organizations who would kill as many American Marines and Soldiers as possible at the drop of a hat?

I was taught at a very young age...never ever hit....IF you can walk away safely and with honor, BUT when you must hit because you can not safely and honorably refrain? Hit with EVERYTHING you've got. Seldom will you be forced to hit the same person at another time, nor those who see/hear of it from the first.
Biden refuses to hit because he thinks it is noble to lose when you could easily win, he does not understand Honor at all.

#13, one battalion commander in USMC, a Lt Col just blew up his 17 year career to tell us what they think.
Very sad that the top commanders will squash him flat, and THEY won't take the slightest bit of responsibility. The entire top three levels of Generals of USMC and USArmy need to be fired, TODAY.

The "End" came June 6th,
We had trained up an Afghan Commando unit that was unstoppable, with experience and training not only there but here stateside as well, they began to win EVERY engagement, they would defeat Taliban, Al Queda, ISIS whoever they were sent at...using first our leadership squads, then on their own with our intel and aircover. Once they had stomped the initial targeted cell, town or location, under our aircover mainline Afghan troops would then move in an hold the area. They were the equivalent to the "Avengers" in the eyes of the Afghan army and the afghan people, so successful that they knocked ISIS down from over 8000 members to less than 800, and several hundred of those remaining arranged to surrender from various locations all on the same day, to be imprisoned at Bagram rather than die. They were National Heroes. On June 6th they won an initial engagement, took the village, Taliban started to rally reinforcements from the surrounding area, they called US for aircover...we didn't even answer, they called the afghan army for back up...without the aircover the Army would not come. Surrounded and out numbered they fought literally to the last bullet, then surrendered. They were bound, forced to kneel in the town square, and executed with a bullet in the back of the head , down to the last man...30 of the very best. The effect of that news, the betrayal, the abandonment, the very best being beaten, demoralized the entire Afghan army and the people. When we lost "extortion one seven" in aug 2011, 38 of the very best... it was awful, but we have numerous similar teams, and more in the training pipeline. They had ONE and only one, and they were the ones that were training any who could one day take their places.

I guess they didn't want to confront the Afghans with the bad news that they were leaving. Only weak people pull this stunt.

Part of BiteMe's Rent Moratorium. They vacated Bagram in the middle of the night, leaving everything behind to avoid paying rent to the Taliban.

The abandonment of Bagram Airport is in today’s news as Biden blames the military for giving it up. This article details the shameful way in which we “turned it over to the Afghans”…Our nighttime skulking out of Bagram, without even informing the Afghans patrolling the perimeter, set the stage for the almost immediate invasion of Bagram by looters.
