A video clip of a female U.S. Army soldier who appeared to threaten to shoot American citizens if martial law is ever declared and they refuse to comply with orders has gone viral on social media and triggered widespread backlash. The clip went viral thanks to Jeremy Darling, a black conservative who posted a snippet of the larger clip to his own TikTok and added his own commentary, warning that the soldier’s words “should be cause for concern.”The soldier’s words were as follows: “Understand that if active-duty military actually get deployed within the United States, that weapon is not just pointed at other people, other countries. It’s pointed at you.

Acting swiftly on President Joe Biden’s promise to retaliate for the deadly suicide bombing at Kabul airport, the U.S. military said it used a drone strike to kill a member of the Islamic State group’s Afghanistan affiliate Saturday.
The strike came amid what the White House called indications that IS planned to strike again as the U.S.-led evacuation from Kabul airport moved into its final days. Biden has set Tuesday as his deadline for completing the exit.
Biden authorized the drone strike and it was ordered by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, a defense official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to provide details not yet publicly announced.

Several hundred American citizens in Afghanistan still haven’t decided whether they want to leave despite an “ongoing aggressive outreach campaign” and the fast-approaching withdrawal deadline for US forces of August 31, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said Friday. Price told reporters that since August 14 – the day before Kabul fell to the Taliban – at least 5,100 American citizens have been evacuated, including 300 in the previous 24 hours. “There are approximately 500 American citizens we are currently working with who want to leave and with whom we are communicating directly to facilitate their evacuations,” Price said. “We

Several progressive lawmakers wrote to leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer on Friday to plead with them to act with the 'highest levels of urgency' to combat evictions after the Supreme Court blocked President Joe Biden's moratorium.
The lawmakers asked the leaders to work to revive the national eviction moratorium after the Supreme Court ruled congressional action is needed.
'Millions of people who are currently at risk for eviction, housing insecurity, or face becoming unhoused desperately look to their elected representatives to implement legislation that will put their health and safety first and save lives,' the letter read.

President Biden on Friday said he and Dr. Anthony Fauci discussed requiring COVID-19 booster shots every five months rather than every eight as previously anticipated. The shorter timeframe would increase the number of vaccine doses that the US will need to set aside for booster shots—as poorer nations clamor for more US donations. “The question raised is should it be shorter than eight months? Should it be as little as five months? That’s being discussed. I spoke with Dr. Fauci this morning about that,” Biden said in the Oval Office during a visit from Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

President Joe Biden said his administration is considering whether to start booster shots of the coronavirus vaccine as soon as 5 months after people receive a second dose, a move that would accelerate U.S. plans by three months.
Soon after Biden made the comments -- at an Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Friday -- his spokeswoman said there had been no change in the plan to administer boosters after eight months.

The Taliban has mobilized a special unit, called Al Isha, to hunt down Afghans who helped US and allied forces — and it’s using US equipment and data to do it.
Nawazuddin Haqqani, one of the brigade commanders over the Al Isha unit, bragged in an interview with Zenger News that his unit is using US-made hand-held scanners to tap into a massive US-built biometric database and positively identify any person who helped the NATO allies or worked with Indian intelligence. Afghans who try to deny or minimize their role will find themselves contradicted by the detailed computer records that the US left behind in its frenzied withdrawal.

If you are a commissioned officer, going public with your concerns about how the military or your particular service is going is an activity nearly guaranteed to provide you all the fun and entertainment you can reasonably handle. However, where integrity and forthrightness are given a place of honor in lesson plans and speeches, the reality is that at senior levels, you are expected to shut up and toe the command’s line. You deviate from that norm at your peril.
If you disagree with racism being inculcated into the military, and you hold a command position, you don’t have the ability to voice any concerns

Which is weird stuff, given that for months his identity had been concealed, by investigators, Congress, and other supposed watchdogs, on the grounds that revealing it to angry Trump supporters was too dangerous, and whose investigative conclusions excused him from accountability.
Now he's come out -- telling Lester Holt of his great heroics. He doesn't even need to, having been exonerated repeatedly.

America's longest war is ending as it began, with the nation mourning the dead of a terrorist attack and an outraged President vowing to hunt down the culprits in Afghanistan.
The bloody coda to a tortured 20 years -- the loss at least 170 people including 13 US service members in a blast outside Kabul's airport on Thursday -- exemplified the human tragedy and ultimate futility of a conflict that failed in its core purpose: purging Afghan soil of terrorism. In a cruel irony, the latest Americans to die perished in an attack conceived in the very same land

The hunt is on for the men who orchestrated the terror attack on Kabul airport that killed at least 170 people including 13 US troops, after Joe Biden warned 'we will hunt you down and make you pay'. Early suspicion is likely to fall on Khalil Haqqani, the self-appointed head of security at Kabul airport who has links to ISIS-K—the splinter group which has claimed responsibility for the deadly blast. Along with his nephews Sirajuddin and Anas, Khalil helps to run the Haqqani network which is designated a terrorist organisation by the US and responsible for some of the deadliest and highest-profile attacks

Samples from early Wuhan COVID-19 patients show the presence of genetically modified Henipah virus, an American scientist has found.
Henipah was one of the two types of viruses sent to China by Chinese-born scientists from a Canadian laboratory at the centre of a controversy over the firing of the scientists and collaboration with Chinese military researchers. It is not clear whether the virus found in the Chinese samples is related to the virus samples sent by the Canadian lab, which were shipped in late March 2019.

Scientists have discovered that fully vaccinated individuals carry 251 times the viral load of Covid in their nostrils compared to the unvaccinated. The researchers, who detailed their findings in a paper by the prestigious Oxford University Clinical Research Group published Aug. 10 in The Lancet, found that while the jab moderates symptoms of infection, it also allows vaccinated individuals to carry unusually high viral loads without becoming ill at first, potentially transforming them into pre-symptomatic superspreaders. “This phenomenon may be the source of the shocking post-vaccination surges in heavily vaccinated populations globally,” Dr. Peter McCullough noted in an Aug. 23 analysis for Children’s Health Defense’s The Defender.

It’s often in the worst moments we experience as a nation that we see the worst of the left on full display, and Thursday was no different. On the day 13 U.S. service members, including U.S. Marines and a Navy corpsman, died in Afghanistan after a pair of suicide bombings, Vice News would smear the U.S. Marine Corps by claiming it’s full of neo-Nazis. But that proved to be tame compared to MSNBC intelligence analyst Malcolm Nance. The radical left analyst essentially shrugged off the bombings outside Kabul’s airport in a tweet he would later delete, essentially telling those who mourned the tragic loss of life brought on by

Biden called on “one of the most interesting” members of the press, Fox News’ Peter Doocy. The president’s response to his question defies belief. (Video) “I’ll take one more question,” Biden said. “Wait, wait wait. Let me take the one question from the most interesting guy that I know in the press.”“Mr. President there has not been a U.S. service member killed in combat in Afghanistan since February of 2020,” Doocy said. “You set a deadline. You pulled troops out. You sent troops back in. And now 12 Marines are dead. You’ve said the buck stops with you. Do you bear any responsibility

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.--Some 14,000 firefighters facing changing weather conditions battled more than a dozen large wildfires across California, including a growing blaze that was slowly pushing toward the Lake Tahoe resort region.Winds and temperatures were expected to pick up in coming days while humidity drops, adding to the challenges endured by crews working in rugged terrain.“That’s what’s closing the window of opportunity we’ve had to make progress and really get hold of the fire,” said Daniel Berlant, assistant deputy director of the state firefighting agency.

A one-person anti-lockdown protest in central Auckland has been shut down, after the police were alerted to discussions of a potential gathering on social media. New Zealand police said officers were on Queen Street on Friday after hearing a protest was being planned, but only one person arrived with the intention of protesting, Newshub reported. “Police have been in the area and have spoken to one person who arrived intending to attend the protest. Police spoke to the individual who was encouraged to comply with alert level four restrictions and chose to leave,” a spokesman said. They said they are continuing to monitor the situation.

The Texas House of Representatives on Thursday passed the voting bill so reviled by Democrats that they fled the state to deny the quorum needed to hold a vote on it. The six-week political showdown drew to a close when three of the fleeing Democrats, who had warrants out for their arrest, gave up their fight and returned to work. The returning lawmakers said they'd brought the national attention they wanted to the bill and had spurred Congress to take up federal voting legislation. The bill passed 79-37 mostly along party lines. It will now proceed to a vote in the Senate on Friday, where it's expected to pass,

A group of American war veterans in Kabul are secretly saving hundreds of Afghan Special Forces troops and their families who helped them in the war but have now been left for dead as the US withdraws from Afghanistan. The group of special op soldiers include retired Green Berets and SEAL Team commanders who launched the mission, which they are calling Pineapple Express, after one of the Afghan commndos they served with contacted them to say he was on the run from the Taliban. His visa had not been approved when the Taliban took over on August 14 and thousands ran for the airport.

His lips say 'no, no,' but his eyes say 'yes, yes.'
So goes Joe Biden's trust in the Taliban, something he constantly denies.
Here's what Biden said on Aug. 23 to a reporter asking him if he trusted a Taliban chieftain:
“I don’t trust anyone, including you, I love you, but there aren’t a lot of people I trust. The Taliban has to take a fundamental decision.”
Now there's this to demonstrate what all his flippantly generalized distrust actually means, according to Politico:
U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies

President Biden is being attacked from all sides after the deaths of at least 13 American service members Thursday in an ISIS-K terrorist at the Kabul airport, with calls for his impeachment and resignation from some. The outrage over the American deaths Thursday was compounded by news that the U.S. gave the Taliban the names of Americans and Afghan allies it wanted to evacuate.
The political crisis for Biden follows a foreign policy crisis in Afghanistan after the Taliban swept into power as American troops withdrew from the country on Biden's orders. And even Democrats are criticizing the president's actions. Prior to yesterday's bombings

The U.S. Defense Department late Thursday revised its descriptions of the service members who were killed in Thursday’s Kabul airport attack in Afghanistan. The death toll for the U.S. military remained at 13, but Defense Department officials told Fox News that the count now stands at 10 Marines, two Army soldiers and one Navy corpsman killed in the attack. The revised information corrected a previous breakdown that said 12 Marines and one Navy corpsman had died. The attack was the deadliest day for the U.S. military in more than 10 years. In addition to those killed, at least 18 service

Word out of the White House this week is that Joe Biden, or at least his handlers, intend to recapture the narrative on his colossal Afghan exit screw-up. Good luck with that tardy effort. It’s as if saying something in Washington, even without attribution, makes it so in this White House wonderland. [Snip] News Flash: The evacuation narrative train left the Kabul station more than a week ago when U.S. troops were finally gone, the Taliban was all over but so were countless thousands of Americans and Afghan allies. Ohio Senate candidate and author J.D. Vance has spoken out against the importation of tens of thousands of Afghan refugees in the wake of the United States’ disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.
Vance recently appeared on Steve Cortes and Jenn Pellegrino’s Newsmax TV program to discuss the issue.
“I really think people are radically underappreciating what this means,” he said. “60,000 Afghan refugees completely unvetted, you’re going to get a lot of bad people in that group.”
Vance added that the United States’ permitting of chain migration could significantly boost that figure.
“Those 60,000 people could eventually lead to four or five per refugee. So 60,000 could become 400,000 really quickly.

Desperate Afghans continued to gather in huge crowds outside Kabul’s international airport Friday, undeterred by twin suicide attacks that left at least 100 people dead a day before, including 13 American troops.
Inside the fortified airport walls, the U.S. flag was lowered to half-staff as the final evacuations carried on under heavy security as military officials warned that attackers were plotting further destruction.

Tickets are now on sale for trips on the world's largest and tallest observation wheel, Ain Dubai. Last year, the TV documentary Impossible Engineering showed how the enormous wheel was constructed in Dubai. Now visitors will finally get to ride it from October 21. The record-breaking wheel is over 250m (820ft) in height, made up of 48 double-glazed cabins and can take 1,750 passengers at one time. (Photo/Video) In size and scale, Ain Dubai towers over any wheel to come before it. It's twice the size of the London Eye, which is 'only' 135m (443ft) tall and carries up to 800 passengers.

Ashli Babbitt's widower says the Capitol police officer who fatally shot his wife during the January 6 riot should 'suck it up' after the cop's tearful interview where he said he's been receiving death threats. Aaron Babbitt told of his outrage at Lieutenant Michael Byrd's interview with NBC News on Thursday, hours after he was unmasked as Ashli's killer. Aaron said: 'I don't even want to hear him talk about how he's getting death threats, and he's scared. I've been getting death threats since January 7th - two, three, five, 10 a day - and all I did on January 6th is becoming a widower,'

It was short, and it wasn’t sweet. The Democratic Party’s quest to defund police forces, an act in which it kowtowed to its hard-left-wing base, has come to a very bitter end. The resulting surge in violent crime has produced a massive public backlash that threatens the careers of elected Democrats throughout the nation. Naturally, the endangered species is trying to distance itself swiftly from the wreckage that “defund the police” has left behind. (Video) The mayors of Portland and Seattle, who respectively slashed police funding by $15 million and $7.5 million last year, are now moving to restore those budgets amid spikes in violent crime

As the U.S. casualty count is trending in the wrong direction in Afghanistan, President Joe Biden is taking heat from all sides for the handling of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Central Asian nation.During an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity” on Thursday, former President Donald Trump, Biden’s predecessor, called the move by the Biden administration to withdraw military forces before evacuating non-military personnel the “dumbest move” in perhaps the history of the country. Partial transcript as follows: TRUMP: Well, it’s so sad. It’s probably, from the standpoint of military tactics and just embarrassment, the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to our country.

A day after at least 13 U.S. soldiers were killed at the Kabul airport, it’s still unclear how many Americans will be abandoned in Afghanistan by the Biden administration. What we do know, though, is that most of the U.S. weaponry in the country will not be recovered. It’s as if Joe Biden himself was the military procurement chief for the Taliban.
Until Thursday, there had been no U.S. combat casualties in Afghanistan since February of last year. But a bloodbath that the entire world outside of the White House saw coming arrived,

Donald Trump has slammed Joe Biden for handing over a list of approved Afghan evacuees to the Taliban amid fears it will now be used by the extremist group to kill those named on it. Calls for Biden's resignation and impeachment have mounted after at least 103 people, including 13 U.S. service personnel, were killed by ISIS terrorists in a double suicide attack on Kabul airport on Thursday. In an emotional address to the nation, Biden vowed to 'hunt down' and 'make the terrorists pay' as he mourned the 'selfless heroes' who died helping vulnerable people flee the country. But defense experts and Republican opposition slammed the president,

In defending President Joe Biden’s debacle in Afghanistan, New York magazine’s Eric Levitz has come to an earth-shaking revelation. You ready? The liberal media are biased. They “manufactured” the crisis.Levitz is shocked, shocked to discover that “straight news” stories in The New York Times are laden with judgmental adjectives and the writers’ own opinions. He takes particular aim at Roger Cohen, the Times Paris bureau chief, saying that in stories, “he is presenting editorial judgments as factual ones.” Cohen uses the phrase “reinforces the impression,” to which Levitz says, “This is, of course, a thin scrim for concealing outright advocacy.

The deep grief on President Biden’s face as his eyes swelled with tears was painful to watch. But his personal suffering cannot exonerate him from the responsibility for what happened in Kabul. Nor can his obscenely shameful effort to shift the blame to former President Donald Trump and even his own military commanders be taken seriously. Biden says the buck stops with him, but he doesn’t really mean it.When the enemy strikes with deadly results, it’s somebody else’s fault. That’s not leadership and it certainly isn’t presidential.

One of the things that disgusted conservatives following news of the bloody terrorist attack in Kabul that killed twelve Marines and one Navy corpsman was the fact that Nancy Pelosi, during a public appearance in San Francisco, not only didn’t mention, she was also in an exceptionally jovial, joking mood. My bet is that this wasn’t mere callousness on her part. (snip) I believe that the reason Pelosi is behaving in this way is to keep her base from realizing that something bad happened. It’s a form of gaslighting that involves her shaping their reality through lies, not to drive them crazy, but to keep them ignorant.

On August 23rd all the mainstream or agitprop media outlets were trumpeting the news that the FDA had granted permanent approval for the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.
