Snickers in Spain has pulled a controversial advertisement and apologised for any “misunderstanding that may have been caused” after the 20-second film was widely condemned for being homophobic. The advert shows the Spanish influencer Aless Gibaja ordering a “sexy orange juice” while a friend trades puzzled looks with the waiter. The waiter responds by handing Gibaja a Snickers ice-cream bar, and after a bite, Gibaja appears to transform into a bearded man with a deep voice. “Better?” the friend asks. “Better,” replies the man as the tagline reads: “You’re not yourself when you’re hungry.” The advert was heavily criticised after it began circulating online this week,

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday confirmed it is using Title 42 to fly illegal immigrants from the U.S.-Mexico border into Mexico’s interior.
Title 42 is the COVID-19-related rule created under the Trump administration that can be invoked to expel single adults and some families who crossed the border illegally, allowing for the rapid deportation of illegal aliens due to the pandemic. The rule was extended last week by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Lawmakers, economists and advocates are working to extend a handful of key federal aid programs established at the beginning of the pandemic, many of which are scheduled to end just as the delta variant has caused Covid caseloads to rise across the U.S. yet again. Already this week, following pressure from House Democrats, the CDC extended the federal eviction moratorium through October 3 after it lapsed over the weekend. Now, other Congressional Democrats are calling on the White House to extend the pause on federal student loan payments scheduled to expire at the end of September, the Washington Post reports.

Shocking video obtained by The Post shows the moment a woman with a gun walked up to another woman and shot her dead on a crowded Prospect Heights street Tuesday – before casually strolling away. The video shows a shooter wearing a purse walk up to 42-year-old Delia Johnson and shoot the unsuspecting victim in the head while she was having a conversation with some people sitting on the stoop of a building on Franklin Avenue near Prospect Place. The shooting happened at about 9:40 p.m., police sources said. After the victim drops to the ground, the shooter fires off several more shots,

On Thursday, Tucker Carlson conducted a fairly in-depth interview with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. It was a fascinating look at a classic liberal: Liberty-oriented values that don’t veer into anarchy, strong principles, and a healthy nationalism. The left has used “nationalism” as a dirty word since Hitler, as they seek a borderless world they can control, but healthy nationalism means doing what Trump did: Putting your countrymen first, without regard for other nations' demands that you subordinate your country to them – and that’s what Orbán does.
Orbán was born in Hungary in 1963 when it was still under Soviet control.

On July 29, District Court Judge Peter Cahill, the presiding judge in the trials of the four Minneapolis police officers indicted for the death of George Floyd, ordered the release of an exhibit memorandum that reveals a miscarriage of justice and criminal coercion of a witness.
Dr. Roger Mitchell, the former deputy mayor and medical examiner of the District of Columbia and now the Chief of Pathology at Howard University Medical School, a traditional Black medical school, boldly intimidated and coerced Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker into changing critical conclusory language in his autopsy report on the death of George Floyd.

One of the most fascinating questions about WW2 concerns when the Nazis realized they had lost the war. Some say the generals knew early as December 1941, when Operation Barbarossa was stopped before Moscow, that the great throw of the dice had failed. Others say civilian leaders came to it in 1942 when Case Blue failed to secure the oil they needed to fight on in the East. But most certainly the public moment had come by February 1943, when Joseph Goebbels delivered his famous “Total War” speech admitting that, far from attaining victory, the Reich would be very lucky to survive without a mobilization on a Communist scale.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday responded to extensive evidence that China is perpetrating genocide against ethnic Uyghurs in its western Xinjiang territory by accusing the United States of executing “the real genocide” against Native Americans, the state-run Global Times reported Thursday.
“In recent years, the population of Uygur ethnic group in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has doubled, and their average life expectancy has increased. Annual income, education and other indicators are all looking promising,” Wang claimed on August 4 while speaking at the virtual 11th East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

In eight years, half of American car buyers will be forced to purchase overpriced, underperforming electric cars they don’t want, courtesy of the federal government and a compliant auto industry. That, at least, is what President Joe Biden announced at the White House on Thursday, and it’s just as we predicted in this space three months ago.
With a wave of his pen, Biden ordered that 50% of new cars and trucks sold by 2030 are to be electric. Since the auto companies already have their 2022 model year cars in production, that means they have less than eight years

The people running our government and fronting Biden had a great day Tuesday. In one fell swoop, with New York Attorney General Letitia James’ case—not even charges, merely a case—against Governor Andrew Cuomo for prolific, ridiculous sexual harassment, they solved a great many of the Biden Administration’s looming problems: political, personnel, and criminal. Indeed, there was lots of winning for the shadowy cabal. (Snip)
The national outrage at Cuomo’s handsiness and bullying and the expiation of sin to follow as he leaves the scene, has made it unlikely that Cuomo will ever face justice for the deliberate murder of roughly 15,000 seniors in New York nursing homes.

It’s cheap, easy, and lots of fun to highlight Joe Biden’s incoherence and creepiness. Heck, he displays it constantly. Just yesterday, he sniffed a little girl’s hair and made an utterly incomprehensible speech likening police to brawling high school athletes. However, Don Surber, one of the most acute political observers suggests that Biden may be hiding a still-sharp brain behind that decrepit, incoherent exterior. I put it to you, the readers, to make the call.
On Thursday, Twitter wasn’t able to stop “Creepy Joe” from trending. The reason was that he was once again caught snuffling at a little girl under the pretext of whispering something to her:

Rep. Cori Bush (D. Wokeistan) is an honest politician. She’s also narcissistic, histrionic, manic, intellectually corrupt, and has delusions of grandeur but, darn, if she isn’t honest. And the great thing about her honesty is that, when it comes to every Democrat, Progressive, and leftist politician, she says the quiet part out loud. We’ve all known about this quiet part: It’s the one that says that high-level leftists, the ones who want to take our cars, air conditioners, heating, health care, travel rights, and money, do not have to abide by their own rules. I might have a slight advantage over most of the brilliant people who write for American Thinker. I am significantly older and from the ex-USSR, so I have lived through and experienced first-hand all the charms of the regime that is now -- slowly, but steadily – being installed in America (and, subsequently, in the whole civilized world). What I am referring to comes under different names and in different clothes, whether it’s today’s American Democratic Party, neo-Marxists, Soviet and international communists, Hitler’s Nazis, Islamists, the Black Lives Matter gang, white supremacists, woke adherents, etc. But the name does not matter; what unites all the people marching under those banners

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is absolutely right in calling out President Joe Biden’s COVID hypocrisy: The president is blaming the surge in cases partly on DeSantis and other GOP governors who resist tighter restrictions — even as Biden lets thousands of COVID-positive migrants flood the nation. Biden is “lecturing people about imposing COVID restrictions and lockdowns and not only doing nothing to stop the border surge but actually facilitating it,” notes the Floridian. He’s “bringing in people from over 100 different countries across the southern border.”

Fauci made his pronouncement on ABC’s “This Week.”But who with even a modest faculty for critical thinking believes Anthony Fauci? That’s Anthony Fauci, MD, who famously told us that masks don’t work, and then told us, by God, wearing them is imperative. Fauci, a flip-flopper? Perish the thought. The White House’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure package includes a pilot program for a national mile-driven tax, contradicting President Biden’s previous dismissal of the policy. Tucked within the 2,702-page infrastructure bill is obscure language requiring the Department of Transportation to test the feasibility of taxing drivers for the number of miles they travel. The tax would be broad enough to target any “passenger motor vehicles,” including light and medium-to-heavy duty trucks.” The bill also requires Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (or their successors) to report to Congress about the findings of the program within three years of its creation.

This is the aspect of his moratorium chicanery that I find most breathtaking, the frank admission that he’s trying to exploit the legal process to extend a dubious executive order. Most everyone else has focused on the substance of what the White House did, replacing a certainly illegal moratorium order with a new one which they have every reason to know is almost certainly illegal.
And that’s appalling. But the problem could be solved if the courts reacted quickly by scheduling an expedited hearing on the numerous challenges to the new order. When the president is as candid as Biden is here in admitting that he’s gaming

Depends on where you look, but the hotter spots for COVID-19 transmission might have already peaked. Former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb predicted two weeks ago that the US could be further into the Delta wave than we know, thanks mainly to a lack of regular sample testing that has plagued the US response from the start.
That’s important context for the charts Gottlieb highlighted yesterday evening, based on data sourced from Johns Hopkins and the CDC. Have we at least plateaued in transmissibility? Gottlieb’s choice of graphs aren’t entirely representative, although it’s not deceptively positive either. When looking at the entire range

Now, with them pushing fear porn about the Delta variant, we hearing more about that. New York City just announced this week that they would be requiring evidence of vaccination before being allowed into places like restaurants and gyms. Mayor Bill de Blasio said they were specifically doing that to try to force the vaccine-hesitant to get the shot.

So Joe Biden is talking about the Constitution although just the other day he basically said he didn’t give a flying fig about it, announcing that his administration was issuing a new eviction moratorium order to buy time, knowing that it was likely to be found unconstitutional. New York City Commissar Bill de Blasio has thrown down the COVID gauntlet. He recently mandated that the unvaccinated will not be allowed to eat indoors, go to a gym, or enjoy a live performance. According to Dr. Drew Pinsky, that means mostly black folks and Latinos will have to stay at home.
Pinsky calls this the modern segregation.
The CDC reported today that only 28.4% of the black community have received the Covid vaccine. With states like CA and NY mandating vaccine passports to enter restaurants and businesses, the black community would be most affected by this modern day segregation.

Two weeks to slow the spread.
That was the original rationale for the lockdowns, masking and social distancing: Prevent transmission of the coronavirus so that Americans could be assured that we would not overwhelm hospital capacity, causing needless death.
Wait until a vaccine is available.
That was the next goalpost: an admonition to continue to take precautions to avoid spreading the coronavirus until a vaccine could be developed. Despite the warnings of COVID-19 pessimists that a vaccine would take years to develop, despite the unjustified alarmism of figures like Vice President Kamala Harris that the Trump administration would skew the vaccine protocols to achieve political ends, vaccines were miraculously developed.

Border Patrol agents detained 834 unaccompanied migrant children at the U.S.–Mexico border on Wednesday, according to data released by the Department of Health and Human Services.
That number is the highest since the Biden administration began reporting daily total apprehensions of migrant children earlier this year.
The number of children in custody of U.S. Customs and Border Protection rose to 2,784 on Wednesday. Unaccompanied children are typically held in CBP facilities before being transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees care for unaccompanied minors.
