In just five months, California may well be the first state in America that effectively bans any pork products. This is because, back in 2018, voters approved an animal welfare proposition setting out space requirements standards for those who breed pigs, egg-laying chickens, and veal calves. While chicken farmers and veal producers across America have mostly met those standards, it seems the hog farmers have had a harder time. This is an interesting story because it touches upon the laws of unintended consequences and the effect a state like California has on the rest of America.

We are a year and half into the world’s nightmare of COVID-19, also known as the Chinese coronavirus, based on where this demon virus originated and spread from, either intentionally or inadvertently. (snip) Do the vaccines work or not? Depending on the day and pronouncement, it is hard to know. First, the COVID “vaccines” are not true vaccines based on the definitions of vaccine. Rather than the “vaccine” containing attenuated virus, it is a strand of messenger RNA, based on genetic code provided by China and serving as the basis for these novel “vaccines” which cause the body to create spike protein which in turn supposedly generates an immune response

San Francisco's broad-daylight retail heists have shocked the nation in their brazenness. They've triggered the closings of stores, such as Walgreens, and the shortening of hours from retail giants such as Target. Forty-four percent of city is planning to move out, with 80% citing out-of-control crime.
But the shoplifters have got a defender, too -- in San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. So do the drug dealers. The only problems that Chesa sees are the victims.
Which tells us a lot about the state of moral bankruptcy of the wokester movement, and what the New Yorker dismisses as the "backlash."

Every year, climate-change enthusiasts tell us the earth is getting hotter. Phys.org warned the world, “New 'hottest year on record' likely to occur in the next five years.”
C2ES informed readers, “It’s certain: The Earth is getting warmer, and human activity is largely to blame.” Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists’ headline read, “Broken record: The planet is getting hotter. And hotter. And hotter.” But are we really observing record hot years consecutively? While global warming is real and has been happening since the end of the Little Ice Age in the 18th century, the claims surrounding unprecedented temperatures are, at best, highly dubious.

To hear the propaganda media, the new “Delta Variant” of COVID is going to kill every man, woman and child in America – at least by the end of the week.(snip) f you want to control people, just scare them and tell them what to do, and scaring them about dying from a mysterious disease is definitely the way to go. (snip) There’s only one problem with all the fear mongering and widespread panic: few are dying. In the entire United States, 295 people died from COVID on July 31st despite the fact that 62,735 “new cases” were reported the same day.

n the Bible there were four horsemen of the apocalypse -- sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague. In the Biden Administration there are three events spelling the doom of this administration and the Democrats: open border policy, inflation, and coercive unscientific public health measures. Catering to the party’s far left has poised the Democrats over a cliff from which I see no soft landing. Without backing off, they’ve lost the favor of the nation. But backing off will fracture the party and cost it its most fervent leftist wing -- indeed, its most strident supporters are already demanding more.

This sort of behavior is straight out of the dayroom of a mental hospital. (snip) First the President on the United States received a note from staffers informing him that he had something on his chin. For some reason, he stared at the back of the note while the rest of the world read the words, “Sir, there is something on your chin.” [tweet] But then, something happened that puts the currently serving POTUS in the category of library paste-eating mental defectives

We’re finally getting some clarity about what’s going on with COVID and it’s information that makes even more perplexing the Biden administration’s fanaticism about reintroducing all the COVID restrictions that not only didn’t work last year but were lifted completely for the Black Lives Matter protests and riots. The short version is that the vaccine doesn’t seem to protect against the Delta variant, we’re all still contagious, but (thankfully) we’re not dying like flies. That news, while not uplifting, doesn’t seem to justify the Democrats’ hysteria.

With proper credit given to Mr. Charles Dickens, for many Americans living today in America, "these are the worst of times." (snip) What is becoming increasingly clear is that America is disintegrating into two warring factions. For most of the 20th century, Americans had about 35% of the voters voting conservative/Republican and 35% voting liberal/Democrat, with a healthy 30% in the middle. This 30% in the middle kept us from tearing apart. (snip) in 2021, about 48% of the voters view themselves as RedState Patriots, and about 48% of the voters view themselves as BlueState Progressives. This leaves a slim 4% (if that much) in the middle.

There has been a growing belief in progressive circles of the 1619 Project ilk, that all Jews are of European decent and all Europeans who came to the Americas owned African slaves. It's not based on history. (snip) Upon arriving in Virginia, the Angolans were traded for supplies and became indentured servants. They became this, along with many whites in the colony, as there was no law allowing for slavery. (snip) It was not until 1662 that a law was passed to enslave people based on the status of their mothers, over four decades after the first Africans arrived in Virginia.

It’s pretty clear that Joe Biden loves Hunter. On the one hand, he seems to have used him which, of course, is not loving. (snip) a stay in prison might have scared Hunter straight. (I’ve known a handful of middle-class boys who got scared straight in prison. So did Robert Downey, Jr.) Certainly, there was a law in place that would have sent Hunter to prison – and Biden has boasted about putting it on the books. That’s why this split-screen video of Biden boasting about crack crackdowns and Hunter sucking on his crack pipe is so powerful:

This week in history witnessed a small band of Christian knights terrify and brutally defeat a massive horde of Muslims -- at the battle of Jaffa.
On July 27, 1192, Saladin, the great hero sultan of Islam, surrounded and besieged the tiny Christian-held town of Jaffa. According to chroniclers, the Muslims numbered around 20,000 and “covered the face of the earth like locusts.”
Messengers were instantly dispatched to King Richard I, who was then in Acre, preparing to sail back to England. Before the battered and bruised messengers had finished relaying their message, “With God as my guide,” Richard declared, “I will set out to do what I can,”
