If you wanted to try to give people vaccine hesitancy, what would you do that Joe Biden already hasn’t done? I’m not sure you’d act much differently than he has.
The latest move today — the CDC issuing guidance that the fully vaccinated should go back to wearing masks in most of the country where the Delta variant might be surging — will leave some who already are questioning the vaccine, to doubt and question it even more. Plus, as we reported, the White House’s explanation for why we should do so amounted to basically: Do it because we told you to do so. Not very confidence-building.

When there’s a White House press briefing in which the press corps doesn’t appear friendly with the Biden administration, you know it was a tough day at the office. Tuesday’s briefing was one of those rare days as Fox’s Peter Doocy was joined by over a half dozen colleagues in asking tough questions Press Secretary Jen Psaki refused to answer about the return of masks, even for vaccinated Americans.
The Associated Press’s Alexandra Jaffe didn’t wait for Doocy, leading off the Q&A by wondering “how will the White House get Americans to start wearing masks when they’ve gone for more than two months without them,”

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement Tuesday that President Joe Biden’s mask mandate seeks to enforce a “perpetual pandemic state.”
McCarthy spoke to Breitbart News as the Biden administration looks to revive the mandate to have Americans — including fully vaccinated Americans — wear masks indoor in places with high coronavirus infection rates.
The California Republican said Biden’s reversal could cast doubt on the efficacy of the coronavirus vaccines and force children to wear masks despite the science showing that children are at very low risk of contracting the virus.

Tuesday marked the first session of the House committee convened to investigate the January 6 Capitol Riot. And it didn’t take long for the theatrical nature of the proceeding to expose itself as Congressmen Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) let the faux tears flow for the cameras. Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson used a hearty dose of sarcasm as he keyed in on those moments and called them out for how “emotionally fragile” they were.“The one thing we did learn, it’s something we long suspected but never seemed confirmed is an awful lot of members of Congress are emotionally fragile,”

Just over a week ago, the Centers for Disease Control advised that vaccinated teachers and students don’t need masks. On Tuesday, it reversed that, recommending that all staff and K-12ers mask up, regardless of vax status. It also switched to saying indoor-mask mandates make sense, at least in areas experiencing spikes in cases. This is nonsense — and pernicious, too: The vax-hesitant lose a big reason to get jabbed if the shot doesn’t let them breathe freely. Indeed, such reversals also undermine the CDC’s entire claim to be making calls purely on the science.

Nancy Pelosi’s “commission” on the riot in the US Capitol started out pretty much as one would have expected. Of course, a commission predicated on a lie (insurrection) needs lots of lies to back it up. My colleague Bonchie covered the opening day festivities in Lies Pile up on Day One of the January 6th Hearings.Actually, if we are going to use the broad rubric that [Mississippi Democrat Bennie] Thompson is using, thousands of people lost their lives for a variety of different reasons across the country. The fascist left obviously learned nothing from the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, where the healthy were persecuted as walking biohazards simply because they were gay. Today, the healthy being persecuted as biohazards are the unvaccinated.
Those who choose not to get vaccinated are almost no threat to those of us who are vaccinated, and yet they are the ongoing targets of the left’s rising bigotry, hate, and social exclusion.
This is reprehensible behavior, straight-up bigotry, and like all acts of bigotry, history will not be kind to the bigots.
There is, though, one vital difference between AIDS and the coronavirus. Thirty-five years ago, the fatality rate for AIDS was 100 percent.

On July 26, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, California, and New York City said they would require some of their government workers to get the COVID-19 shot or be tested weekly. Veterans Affairs, with the move, became the first federal agency to mandate the vaccine.

There is something we are not being told that would explain the elites' extreme push to ensure that we all — regardless of age, health, or vulnerability — get vaccinated against the coronavirus, a virus that has an overall survivability rate of 99.8 percent globally (higher for young people), on a par with the seasonal flu. There has to be. Governments and media have never before reacted in this manner, even for flus, diseases, plagues, and pandemics that were more lethal than COVID-19. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Since the onset of SARS-CoV-2 (hereinafter the CCP-virus) various figures on the political left have issued proclamations unsupported by science. Experts have asserted things that contravene long-established infectious disease precepts, statements an uncritical press, eager to support the Left’s preferred narrative, freely mimics.
Reputable professional sources have produced one-sided opinions only to have to retract them later. Authoritative sources have made statements in this time frame that have been flatly contradictory. The men, aged 18-21, were granted their freedom after a judge ruled there was no risk they would escape. The men must report to police frequently, continue to live with their parents, and not approach the alleged victim, Bild reported.
The trio, who are not related by birth or marriage, all came to Germany with their families in 2015.(Snip) Last year, a group of refugees were jailed for gang-raping an 18-year-old girl after spiking her drink in an attack

President Joe Biden’s attempts to suspend or end border wall construction are costing taxpayers $3 million per day, with an estimated price tag of at least $1.8 billion, according to a new report by Senate Republicans.
On the day he was sworn in, Biden ordered his administration to pause construction and called for a review of projects and funds. While the halt was supposed to be for 60 days, more than 180 days later, no indication has been given on the results of the review and whether construction will resume.
As the pause continues, Republicans discovered that the suspension initially cost $6 million per day, an amount that was later reduced

The problem never seems to go away. (snip) Secretary Janet Yellen sent a stern letter to Congress this month stating that if Congress doesn’t act quickly, she would need to take “extraordinary measures” (snip) To lower spending, lawmakers will have to consider cutting benefits in Social Security and Medicare, which make up most of the budget. How can we make sense of the Biden administration’s project to establish a shadow state in which the federal government achieves its unconstitutional objectives—mask mandates, forced vaccines, suppression of religious freedom, and free speech—by recruiting private corporations to do its bidding? What is the official name for this public-private partnership in opposition to our liberties?
Before I answer this question, let’s zoom in on precisely what the administration seeks to do. It recognizes, of course, that any attempt to impose a nationwide mask mandate or to force Americans to take the vaccine would run into serious constitutional problems. Where does the Constitution give the federal government the power to require such

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is set on Tuesday to recommend fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors in at least some instances, as the more highly transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus has led to a surge in infections, sources said. That would mark a reversal of the CDC's announcement in May that prompted millions of vaccinated Americans to shed their face coverings. The CDC will announce revised mask guidance but the specifics of when the agency will recommend fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors are not fully clear, the sources said.

Top Biden administration officials are weighing whether to recommend that states and communities with low vaccination rates reimpose mask mandates, particularly indoors, as part of discussions on how the administration can do more to slow the spread of the Delta variant.
White House and health agency officials debated the option at a Sunday meeting that took place amid a surge of Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations in the South and Midwest, according to four individuals with knowledge of the matter, and that reflected an increasing sense of urgency inside the White House and across health agencies about the more contagious variant and its ability to alter the course of the pandemic.

Next year’s midterm elections will be as good to Republicans as the seminal 1994 vote, which gave the GOP unified control of Congress for the first time in more than 40 years, Sen. Lindsey Graham predicted Monday night.

Perhaps one of the most ludicrous claims of the last few years is that the news industry still represents a bulwark against government tyranny and exists to help preserve the freedom of Americans. Instead, over and over, the press has shown themselves to value dictatorial pronouncements from their chosen politicians over speaking out for individual rights.
That was made clear again yesterday during White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s press briefing. Imagine being so radical and subservient to government power that you would actually beg the Biden administration to exercise more of it over you.

“I would say though that mandates, as is evidenced by the Hospital Association’s, those are meant to keep people safe around the country,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said. The American Hospital Association publicly backed vaccine mandates for hospital and healthcare workers last Thursday, an idea that over 50 medical groups endorsed in a joint statement Monday.

C-Span is going to be running a series on the Capitol riot with interviews from 14 different members of Congress. They’re literally trying to stretch it out like it’s a TV series. I wonder if they have one for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and what she went through in her office a quarter of a mile away?
The first clip that I’ve seen involves an interview with Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK). He explains how he hugged the Capitol Police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt and told him that he “did what he had to.” From a legal and factual point of view, there are big problems with that statement

“I firmly believe that if the vast majority of Californians and Americans knew about this, and about the content of this type of curriculum, this would not be happening. We would not be having this conversation,” Kaplan said.
Kaplan, who has launched an email list, set up meetings with state legislators
