Recently at a gathering of 15 top conservative leaders, the question was posed: What does America think of the present political condition? The conversation rocked back and forth, reviewing the state of education, the wokeness of big business, the extremism of the Democratic Party, the politicization of sports, the disintegration of civil society, the war on religion, the assault on the family, and the like. Frank Cannon, chairman of American Principles Project, sat silent but finally erupted.“What the hell is going on here?!”The guests looked at him surprised, more than one certainly taken aback at his impatience with the discussion.

Children face an 'extremely low' one in 500,000 risk of dying from the coronavirus, researchers have found. In England, just 25 under-18s have died from Covid, which equates to around two in a million, experts said.

But the scientists—from three top British universities—said this risk is no higher then the risk from flu.(Snip) Researchers said their findings—which were published in three separate papers today—will help inform

The justice system worked on Thursday as “creepy porn lawyer” Michael Avenatti was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for trying to extort over $20 million from Nike. And reports from the courtroom say he cried like a little baby. He’s the man the liberal media built to be their sleazy fighter against then-President Trump, but the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News wanted nothing to do with this latest chapter for their chosen champion.Of the broadcast networks, only ABC’s World News Tonight gave the story any airtime at all, though it was fleeting.

Recently we’ve been seeing stories in the news about average Americans pushing back against liberal initiatives. Taken alone, these stories are entertaining, though not particularly earth-shattering. But observed together, do they form a pattern? Are we seeing the beginning signs of a cultural realignment? One recent story is that of women protesting a California spa allowing “perfectly normal women with penises” to use the female facilities. The protesters were quick to point out that they are Democrats and support LGBTGFNB rights. But it turns out there is a limit to the amount of leftist baloney that even Democrats can accept.

The lawsuit was filed in a New York state court, which Twitter immediately attempted to have transferred to a California federal court where the chances that the lawsuit would be dismissed are rather high… too high, in fact. President Joe Biden on Thursday said the U.S. military mission in Afghanistan will end on Aug. 31, saying 'speed is safety' as he moved up his original deadline of leaving by the anniversary of 9/11 despite the growing threat of civil war. The Taliban have made rapid advances since his April announcement that American troops would leave, but Biden insisted it was up to the Afghan people alone to decide how to run their country. 'I will not send another generation of Americans to war in Afghanistan, with no reasonable expectation of achieving a different outcome,' he said.

An Army soldier’s conviction on marriage fraud charges last week pulled the curtain back on what experts say is a problem within the U.S. military, with troops entering into sham unions with illegal immigrants in order to earn more money for themselves and to help the migrants stay in the country.
Samuel Manu Agyapong, a Ghanaian immigrant who’d already won U.S. citizenship for himself, was found guilty of helping an illegal immigrant—a fellow Ghanaian—through a bogus marriage.
Barbara Oppong parlayed it into a pathway to citizenship, while Agyapong got a significant boost in pay for being married.

As we expected, the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) issued its revised guidelines on stem cells and embryo experiments at the end of May 2021, and as expected, the ISSCR recommendations are rife with proposed experiments on young human beings.
The new guidelines discard the 14-day limit on human embryo experiments in favor of no limits whatsoever, and they allow virtually unrestricted manufacture of human-animal chimeras of any type, as well as creation of genetically altered human embryos and lab constructed human embryo “models.” Very little is left in the category of “currently not permitted.”

I voted for Donald Trump twice, but that has nothing to do with my hesitancy to get the vaccine. I'm a Christian, and that has nothing to do with it, either. Even the fact that I had COVID and should be immune doesn't matter to me. My reason is based on science and science alone. It's still an experimental vaccine; it doesn't have FDA approval; and although mRNA vaccines have been studied for years, they were not used before.
My biggest fear of the vaccine is that I can't get any information about why mRNA vaccines were not used before COVID.

Arizona is the latest state looking to lower its income tax rate, citing a budget surplus despite the economic havoc wrought by the coronavirus pandemic.Gov. Doug Ducey last week signed a budget that includes a transition from the state’s current progressive tax structure to a flat tax rate of 2.5%, which would provide an estimated $340 reduction in the average state income tax payment.
Ducey said Arizona is able to proceed with the tax cut because the state's economy is "booming" and has generated a budget surplus.
Arizona is not the only state looking to cut taxes as the broader U.S. economy recovers from a recession.

Free speech on American college campuses has been in a free fall for years. From high schools through law schools, free speech has gone from being considered a right that defines our society to being dismissed as a threat. According to polling, the result is arguably one of the most anti-free-speech generations in our history. The danger is more acute because it has reached law schools where future judges and lawyers may replicate the same intolerance in our legal system.
A recent controversy at Duke Law School highlights this danger. “Law & Contemporary Problems” is a faculty-run journal that recently decided to do a balanced symposium on “Sex and the Law”

Three of the big issues of the day have the liberal left scrambling to pretend that it’s not a group of outside-the-mainstream radicals: defunding police, critical race theory, and voter ID laws. There should be repercussions for such cravenness.
After spending the better part of the year talking up a “defund the police” agenda, Democrats are now trying to claim that it’s Republicans who want to strip the police of their resources.

Thanks to a series of leaks from the hard drive of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop computer, we know there is more than enough evidence to appoint a special counsel, or at least convene a grand jury to investigate bribery, tax fraud, and probably several other categories of crime involving the Biden Crime Family. (snip) A mildly curious US Attorney ought to be able to get a grand jury to subpoena the financial records of the Biden clan on this basis. (snip) We understand why none of this is happening – yet. Biden is serving his purpose (snip) But the drip, drip, drip continues and accumulates.

One of the real sticking points for American parents is the left’s insistence on forcing sexuality onto kids. In leftist world, kids must be exposed as early as possible – in preschool is best – to all 52 or 76 or 103 (or whatever) different “genders” and sexual practices the LGBTQ community is currently claiming. (snip) To leftists, though, saying that aloud is “homophobia,” so the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus created what they seem to think is an “enlightened” video about their “coming for your children.”
Tim Rosser and Charlie Sohne composed the song which is really, really bad.

When Tucker Carlson first said that the National Security Agency (“NSA”) was spying on him, various leftist media outlets had a good laugh. However, that laughter became a bit forced when the NSA issued a letter that merely denied “targeting” Tucker. The obvious implication was that the NSA had gotten to him as an incidental person while targeting someone else. The NSA also didn’t bother to explain how it was that it unmasked Tucker. There’s no laughter now, though. It’s clear that the NSA did spy on Tucker, that it illegally unmasked him, and that it even more illegally leaked to one or more media outlets the information it gathered.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday made his first visit to the Chicago area since taking office to discuss his plan to help working and middle-class families but, as is often the case, the city’s rampant gun violence emerged as the dominant theme of the day.Just hours before Biden touched down in Chicago, two federal agents and a Chicago police officer were shot in a vehicle on the city’s Far South Side. The president briefly discussed the shooting on the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport in a private conversation with Mayor Lori Lightfoot, according to the White House.Biden did not reference the shooting or Chicago’s struggles to tamp down violent crime

President Joe Biden on Wednesday called for the education system to be expanded from 12 years to 14 years for all Americans to make the US more competitive on a global scale. His speech in Illinois drew about 100 protesters holding signs supporting Donald Trump. McHenry County, where Biden made his remarks, went for the former president in the 2020 election. One large sign read: 'Make America Proud Again.' Biden's focus during his daylong trip is on his plan for free childcare and the education component of his 'human' infrastructure package that he will push to pass Congress without Republican votes. In addition to his call for more, free education,

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — A squad of gunmen assassinated Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and wounded his wife in an overnight raid on their home Wednesday, and police killed four suspects and arrested two others hours later amid growing chaos in a country already enduring gang violence and protests of his increasingly authoritarian rule.
Three police officers held hostage by the suspected gunmen were freed late Wednesday after police surrounded a house where some of the suspects were hiding, said Léon Charles, chief of Haiti’s National Police.
Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said the police and military were in control of security in Haiti, the poorest country

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — A fiery explosion erupted on a container ship anchored in Dubai at one of the world’s largest ports late Wednesday, authorities said, sending tremors across the commercial hub of the United Arab Emirates.
The blaze sent up giant orange flames on a vessel at the crucial Jebel Ali Port, the busiest in the Middle East that sits on the eastern side of the Arabian Peninsula.
The combustion unleashed a shock wave through the skyscraper-studded city of Dubai, causing walls and windows to shake in neighborhoods as far as 25 kilometers (15 miles) away from the port. Panicked residents filmed from their high-rises

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has released his agenda items for the special session of the Texas legislature, which starts Thursday, July 8.
Calling special sessions is among the Texas governor’s most important powers. The governor exists in a weak constitutional model, with the vast majority of powerful offices across the state elected and empowered in their own right (as opposed to being appointed by the governor). But that gets turned on its head when it comes to special sessions. The governor alone can call a special session, and the governor alone sets out and limits the agenda. If something is not on the agenda
