Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) said on Thursday its political action committee will halt donations to U.S. members of Congress who voted against President Joe Biden's election certification in January.
The largest Japanese automaker has faced harsh criticism for donations to some lawmakers - members of then-President Donald Trump's Republican Party - who voted against certification of Biden's win in some U.S. states.

They're off new my new car list.
Corporations should not get involved in politics. It's stupid.
Oh noes! They received harsh criticism!!! Boo hoo! Guess what, geniuses? Now you'll receive harsh criticism from people who actually buy cars.

Did Toyota suspend their donations to Democrat reps who disputed the 2000 Bush-Gore election? I don't think so. Isn't Toyota a Japanese company? Who appointed them the arbiter of election fraud/manipulation in the USA? My next car will NOT be a Toyota.

We have purchased 4 Toyotas -- all new -- in the last couple of decades. My husband still drives him 2013 Highlander and loves it.
But I just sent them an e-mail informing them that we will never do business with them again. And it's no idle threat -- we will not do business with them again!!! They need to hear from us loud and clear!!!

I guess Toyota wants to lose their privilege to sell their products in the U.S. of A.
Democrats are traitors. Those who supported their usurpation will not be forgiven.

My wife has owned two Toyotas and has really liked them. I agree with others here about the politics, but what steered me away from Toyota was its ersatz new Toyota Supra. It's just a BMW Z chassis with the badging changed out. What malarkey. Buying Japanese but getting German instead. Must be a joke in there somewhere.

147 Repubs voted against "premature" certification...only 38 had ever even received any money from TOYO, and of those the average donation was under $1500.00.

Very stupid move. I have a Toyota, and planned on replacing it with another of same model when time comes.
Toyota....stay the hell out of politics, and DO NOT come down on the side of the leftists if you don't want to lose half of your sales.

And just last week I read that Toyota was standing by their contributions. What changed?
I have never bought a Toyota, and never intended to, but its getting pretty hard to find anything to buy that isn't affected by political and/or woke bullsht. Getting really sick of this crap.

WARNING TO TOYOTA: Stay out of it!!! I have been a loyal Toyota customer for years. Don't make me sell my RAV4 and look around for another vehicle. You should be standing for honesty truth and election integrity instead of falling for the Big Lie that Joe "won" the election.

Anyone who still believes that our Representative Democracy is about the will of the Electorate is in denial or living under a rock. Toyota's vote counts, ours didn't even get counted - let alone 'count'. 200 Celebrities sign a patition to damage the US economy while aiding terrorists and Russians COUNT... They made us irrelevant, even though we are the vast majority. We need to make ourselves relevant again.

If you need another reason to NOT buy a Toyota. The number 1 vehicle used by the Taliban is Toyota Pickups. Look at the pictures. Toyota has clearly made a statement they are against the U.S.

Another "Lincoln Project" production. It's time for a review of "conservative principles". One reason conservatives are constantly bashed it that there are neither response nor repercussions in return. This is politics, not ideology. The days of Reagan's "Eleventh Commandment" are long past. It's not the the Dems/Commies who are the enemy.
