The last few weeks have not been a happy time for the royalty which once ruled the Republican Party.
Liz Cheney lost her leadership role in the House Republican Conference. Mitt Romney was not met with overwhelming acclaim at the Utah Republican Convention. And former President George W. Bush did an interview which again demonstrated his irrelevance to both his party and the country.
The GOP’s royal families – the Bushes, Romneys and Cheneys -- view the party as their patrimony. Romney is the son of a governor who ran for president in 1964.
Founded by Senator Prescott Bush, the Bush dynasty

They treat us Conservatives the same way the 'rat party treats Blacks. Are all 'come, vote for me' when campaigning but once in office forget about it.

So many of us were not that enthusiastic to vote for a McCain, Romney, or Bush, but the democrat alternative was totally repugnant to us.
The problem was to accept RINO candidates with their world view.
Donald Trump was in no way apologetic about his pledge to Make America Great. In recent years, he and Reagan were two republicans that I voted FOR. The others--I awarded my vote to them as an alternative to their democrat opponent.
Perhaps now we can start to insist on republican candidates in the mold of Trump and Reagan. I sure hope so, as the phonies have only slowed the progress toward socialism.

Trump should be awarded a 4 year term for what the Democrats did his first term. Trump should have 8 more years in the presidency.

“Royalty” is what all the presumptive and entitled assert themselves to be.

My oldest bonus daughter (26) is becoming interested in politics. Our lesson today was saying we have CONSERVATIVE beliefs, she said REPUBLICAN beliefs.
If you have a moment, please say a prayer for her and her husband. They’re wanting a baby and after 7 years of marriage that hasn’t happened yet. They haven’t really tried but from what I understand, they’re not that careful lol. She’s going to an ob-gyn tomorrow and we’re hoping for encouraging news. Thank you.

These people were only considered royalty by the liberal press and media. They coronated them as royalty because they were so willing to sell their souls to go along and get along. They wanted to appear to be the wise statesman but were really just winning a popularity contest.

Fun read. I believe that I'll read it again.
Remember, Trump pulled the cover off these losers, and removed our blinders. We were played for saps.

Every one of these royal families, not to exclude the McCains, were once saluted as "True conservatives" and "classy" when they ascended the GOP ladder to the top. Dubya was often referred to as the GOAT of Presidents, despite his open borders policy nearly becoming law with the help of John McCain. McCain was a hero, a "maverick" who was going to continue the Dubya Administration, until the wheels came off and he had no answers to anything. Romney much the same story. He was the brilliant businessman who was going to wipe the floor with unpopular Obama to restore conservatism. Of course, in '16 there was JEB! We've gone through the cycle of Bushies, McCainiacs, Romneybots...where are their rabid fans now proclaiming their "real conservatism"? Anyone?

George W Bush as a decent Governor of Texas.
His reputation is going down these days.
It calls to mind the outrage when the Dixie Chicks were abroad and said they were ashamed he was from Texas.
They forgot THEY were from Texas... No more Bushies, and that includes JEB!'s boy George P.

Interesting subject but nothing is cut and dried. GHW Bush, could have had any number of deferments to avoid WWII but he volunteered for combat as a naval aviator. After two terms as VP supporting Regan's policies, he was a far better choice than Dukakis and he kept him out of the White House. He also ran in the primaries against Pat Robinson, Bob Dole, and Jack Kemp. I kind of liked Kemp's economic policy vision but voted for Bush hoping he'd the most likely of the three to pretty much stay on the course set out by Reagan. W, a pretty good governor, kept both Gore and JF'n Kerry out of the WH, which is worthy but he had his blind spots. Both Bush 41 and 43 became more liberal once they were out of office but they both loved our country, which is certainly no longer a given in politics today. I'm no fan of family dynasties in politics; however, any individual should be assessed on his/her own merits and I would not want to see some future Bush kept off of a ballot based solely on family name, any more than I would want to see a Trump offspring or relative denied an opportunity to run and obtain office in the name of preventing another political dynasty. Leadership can also be very situational. U.S. Grant was a great general but not so good as a businessman or president. Reagan was once a democrat, although the democrats of that era weren't likely to be communists. I believe Trump was once a democrat or identified with the democrats but like Regan, he's an unapologetic American. That's a pretty good starting point criterion on judging future candidates, regardless of their family name.

The two BEST Birthdays of my life (I was born on Nov 8th) were in 1980 when RONaldus Maximus was elected, then in 2016 when DONaldus Maxiumus was elected.
That said, GHW Bush was a decent man and did a decent job, but he dud not have the forceful personality of Reagan.
I think GW Bush did a pretty good job (certainly better than the Democ'RATS who ran against him would have done!) and he was unfairly slammed by the 'Rats and their incestuous relatives in the Media for the hurricane Katrina response. I live on the shore of bay Saint Louis, MS, which was 'Ground Zero' for Katrina, and the response here in Mississippi was MAGNIFICENT! Remember, the Demc'RATS in Louisiana and New Orleans BLOCKED the Feds from assisting, so that they could push the 'botched' response lie.
The only thing GWBush did as President that I thought was really dumb, was his 'Religion of Peace' statement after the 9/11 attacks.
Perhaps his advisors had persuaded him that the Rednecks were ready to go to War against the Muzzies, and he was trying to keep the peace. I don't know.
GWBush's behavior toward Donald Trump is a mystery to me. I just do not understand it, as I KNOW that HE knows how vicious the Democ'RATS are.
Regarding Mittens and Cheney-Spawn..... if the Pubbies keep kicking the RINOs out of the Party, I may have to start contributing again!
