On Friday night, CNN Tonight anchor Don Lemon announced that “this will be the last night” of the show he has hosted since 2014.
“It’s been really, really great. this is the last night that will be CNN Tonight with Don Lemon,” the anchor announced, The New York Post reported. “So, I appreciate all the years of CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, but changes are coming, and I will fill you in.”
Less than 15 minutes after the show ended, Lemon posted a 24-second video on Twitter clarifying his announcement.
“So I got back down to my office after the show — everybody calm down,” Lemon began. “I didn’t say I was leaving

The Nazis had a Swiss banker and so do the Democrats.
During President Trump’s first year in office, Indivisible, which the New York Times had described as a left-wing version of the Tea Party, launched a smear campaign falsely accusing President Trump of being subject to Russian foreign financial influence.
“Is Trump colluding with Russia?" the leftist group insinuated. "Until we see Trump’s tax returns, we cannot be certain that foreign governments don’t have leverage over Trump.”
Indivisible repeated this slander a few years later when it held a “Nobody is Above the Law Day”, and demanded “full and total transparency” from Trump even while refusing to name its backers.

Last month, the faculty senate at Pennsylvania State University passed a resolution urging the school to erase certain words from its lexicon, due to the supposedly problematic legacy of the “typically male-centered world” out of which the terms grew. The resolution aims at gendered pronouns such as “he/him/his” and “she/her/hers,” but it also demonizes the four iconic terms for a person’s years in college (and, often, high school): “freshman,” “sophomore,” “junior,” and “senior.”
“The University, as with most all academic institutions world-wide, has grown out of a typically male-centered world. As such, many terms in our lexicon carry a strong, male-centric,

Gas shortages eased slightly overnight in some states but worsened in others as Colonial Pipeline works to bring one of the nation’s major fuel conduits back online.
More stations were out of gas in Florida, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi early on May 13 compared to the night of May 12, according to GasBuddy.
In Florida, 30 percent of 7,564 stations were out of fuel as of 6 a.m. Central Time. In Maryland, 34 percent of the state’s 1,869 stations could no longer serve customers. More than half of South Carolina’s 3,084 stations ran out of gas, along with 34 percent of Tennessee’s stations.

Inflation is a regressive tax on the middle class and the poor. It destroys real income in order to reduce the real cost of debt service — until creditors revolt, and demand an extra risk premium for lending to profligate governments. Below is my most recent column at Asia Times:
US inflation explodes in April with worse to come

NEW YORK – A 10% surge in used car prices pushed the “core” US Consumer Price Index (CPI) up by 0.9% in April – an annualized rate of increase of more than 11% – in the highest inflation print

EAST LAKE — Janine Dorsey and Peter Yore logged lots of miles together on their tandem bike.
The couple rode so often, they wore out one bicycle and recently bought another, a bright yellow Cannondale they called the Pineapple Express. Last month, Dorsey posted a photo of herself and Yore with the new bike on Facebook.
A friend who commented urged her to “be safe out there.”
“It’s a struggle for sure!” Dorsey replied. “We do on average 100 miles a week (literally wore the old Burley tandem out!) But mostly on all the fantastic trails.”
The Odessa couple was riding Tuesday on one of those trails — a segment of the Pinellas Trail

Memo to President Biden: Life moves pretty fast, and now the world is on fire.
Israel is erupting, Americans are utterly confused when masks should be worn for COVID-19 protection and then there are the agita-inducing long lines for gasoline.
And that was just Tuesday.
A lot has changed in a matter of days.
Friday was supposed to be a glorious day for Biden. The latest employment numbers were set to be released, and economists were gushing that a million new jobs had likely been created in April by exuberant employers and their newly vaccinated workers.
His team no doubt was prepared to unleash Biden to perform a little victory dance

“China was preparing for a Third World War with biological weapons – including coronavirus – SIX years ago, according to dossier produced by the People’s Liberation Army in 2015 and uncovered by the US State Department,” the Daily Mail reported. (Snip) If so it creates a disturbing context for the present outbreak. This doesn’t mean that the pandemic was deliberately started by Beijing. It could have happened accidentally not just in China, but in Russia, the United States, Europe or a half-dozen other countries. The great powers have de facto been advancing the state of the art of biological warfare for years by pursuing a dual-use technology

On Monday, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) laid the groundwork for forcing doctors and hospitals to perform transgender surgery in the name of fighting “discrimination.” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine (a biological male who identifies as a woman) announced that HHS would adopt the Orwellian redefinition of “sex” to force transgender ideology in the medical field, mainstreaming the arguable chemical castration of children.
“The Supreme Court has made clear that people have a right not to be discriminated against on the basis of sex

Women first competed in the Olympic Games in 1900 in Paris, participating in tennis, sailing, croquet, equestrianism, and golf. By 2016, 45 percent of participants were women. Men and women competitions were separate for obvious reasons of strength and speed.
Yet this summer at the Tokyo Olympic Games, these two distinct categories may be blurred with transgender athletes competing, specifically transgender biologic males competing against biologic females. Lola, who “walked like a woman but talked like a man” will be an Olympian.
New Zealander Laurel Hubbard, is a biologic male now aged 43, who competed as a male weightlifter until transitioning into a female in her mid 30s.

For the first time in its history, California lost a House seat. California Democrats are resorting to conspiracy theories about President Trump and the census, but these are the numbers they got after spending $187 million on outreach and after rigging the census to make sure illegal aliens would continue to participate. And those are far better numbers than California deserves.
The decline and fall is not a surprising development out here where moving trucks are a frequent sight and everyone knows a family that is moving.
I know three of them in under two years.
The population numbers only tell part of the story of a big state

Time was our country was a nation of laws. Look no further than the Watergate scandal which brought down the Nixon administration. Back then, you could count on the media to act as watchdogs for the American people, counted on to keep the political class in line. Sadly, that no longer appears to be the case.
Instead now we see the mainstream media acting as a public relations arm for the Democratic Party, totally disinterested in anything which doesn’t fit a leftist political agenda. The Washington Post, the paper that brought down Nixon, is one of the biggest offenders in looking the other way.
And what of the once-proud FBI?
