A statue of Jesus was smashed and an American flag burned outside a Catholic church in Brooklyn—in what cops are calling a possible hate crime. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday when an unknown person hopped the fence at St. Athanasius Church on Bay Parkway at 61st Street in Bensonhurst, police said. The vandal pushed over a statue of Jesus’s crucifixion, breaking it into pieces, and torched an American flag hanging outside the rectory, according to cops.(Snip) The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is looking into the incident. “This was truly an act of hatred, and today is the saddest day

Trader Joe’s said it will allow fully vaccinated persons to go maskless in stores, while places like Home Depot, Target and Starbucks say customers should still cover up for now. CVS and Walgreens, top pharmacies that offer the COVID-19 vaccine, haven’t changed their mask policies but they’re taking a second look and said they will be guided by the safety of their workers and customers. “As a destination for COVID vaccine and testing we have decided to keep our current face-covering policy in place for the time being,” said Walgreens spokesman Fraser Engerman.(Snip) Some things changed overnight, with President Biden roaming

Four people were attacked in 11 minutes at three different stops along a Brooklyn-bound 4-train Friday morning. Between 4:26am and 4:37am, NYPD said two to three men punched and slashed four people, stole money and wallets, and, in at least one attack, threw someone's cell phone on tracks so the victim couldn't call 911. All four were taken to hospitals with non life-threatening injuries, according to the NYPD.(Snip) Sarah Feinberg, interim MTA president, and the Transport Workers Union, which represents 60,000 workers in the NYS, blamed the mayor for creating this culture of violence in the subways.

Unvaccinated children still need to wear masks when playing with friends, especially while indoors, Dr. Anthony Fauci insisted Friday. The recommendation from the country’s top infectious disease expert came just hours after the CDC eased its mask guidance for fully vaccinated Americans, saying they can stop wearing masks and practicing social distancing in most settings. But Fauci said in his first interview following Thursday’s announcement that youngsters should continue to take precautions such as wearing a mask to protect themselves against COVID-19.(Snip) Fauci noted that children ages 12 through 15 are now eligible to get vaccinated with Pfizer’s shot

Thousands of Los Angeles residents are in revolt over plans to house the homeless in tents and temporary cabins near popular beaches and parks throughout the city. Councilmember Mike Bonin summitted a motion to add more shelters in areas such as the Los Angeles International Airport, Marina del Rey and Pacific Palisades. Bonin, who represents affluent communities including Venice, Westchester and Brentwood, argues that the 'temporary solutions' will 'get people off the streets and into homes'. But more than 19,000 people have signed a petition to stop the plans. The petition asserts that the proposed camps are not a solution to homelessness

New charts reveals exactly how Joe Biden's inauguration triggered a surge of immigrants arriving at the southern border, despite repeated claims from administration officials that they inherited a broken system. The graphs—showing that border detentions and child arrivals dropped to their lowest level in years at the end of 2020 before rocketing as soon as Biden took office—derailed efforts by the top U.S. homeland security official to deliver a rosy message when he appeared before senators on Thursday. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was forced on the defensive after Sen. Ron Johnson produced his dramatic red chart displaying 'border apprehensions.'

Disney has reportedly deleted its “diversity and inclusion” anti-racism training program following a backlash about it becoming the “wokest place on Earth.” The webpage that previously carried the much-maligned internal training documents was down this week, replaced with a “pardon our Pixie dust” message, according to Christopher Rufo, who first reported on the training forcing staff to recognize their “white privilege.”(Snip) “Disney was peddling the most toxic elements of critical race theory—and my reporting led to immediate changes within the company,” he said. His screenshot, however, showed that the page was “currently under technical maintenance for approximately 72 hours”

The New York Yankees now have seven confirmed cases of coronavirus among coaches and staff—a surprising fact given that all of the infected personnel have been vaccinated. Pitching coach Matt Blake was the latest to be diagnosed with COVID-19, following third-base coach Phil Nevin, first-base coach Reggie Willits, and four unidentified staffers. All seven received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which requires only a single shot, as opposed to the two-injection vaccines from pharmaceutical companies like Moderna and Pfizer. New York shortstop Gleyber Torres has not tested positive, but was held out of Wednesday's 1-0 win in Tampa

A uniformed NYPD cop was shot three times—including once in the bulletproof vest—during a shootout with a known gang member in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, police said. The incident unfolded around 11:15 p.m. at Macon Street and Howard Avenue in Bushwick, when two police officers and a sergeant assigned to the 81st Precinct were inside an unmarked car when they spotted a man “walking briskly” and “blading his body,” Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said at a morning press conference. The officers got out of the car to investigate—at which time the man pulled “a firearm, turns on the officers and begins to shoot

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has a plan for getting the Big Apple fully vaccinated: french fries and burgers. The Democrat touted a partnership with Shake Shack that uses greasy treats to get people in line for COVID-19 shots. “I want you to look at this and think about, again, some people love hamburgers, some don’t. I really want to respect all ways of life, but if this is appealing to you, just think of this when you think of vaccination,” Mr. de Blasio said during a Thursday press conference.(Snip) “Mmm, vaccination,” the mayor added while biting into a burger.

Sen. Bernard Sanders wants more free lunches in the massive infrastructure plan Congress is writing—and this time he means it literally. Mr. Sanders’ plan would continue to give free meals to all schoolchildren, as the federal government has been doing during the COVID-19 pandemic, even if their parents are wealthy enough to pay for the meals. “In the richest country in the world, it is an outrage that millions of children struggle with hunger every day,” said Mr. Sanders, a democratic socialist from Vermont who is chairman of the Senate Budget Committee.(Snip)The federal government spent $18.7 billion on school meals in 2019,

Kamala Harris' niece has raised eyebrows with an Instagram post urging people who care about LGBT rights and women's issues to defend Palestine—despite the country's rulers being among the most repressive in the world.
Meena Harris, a 36-year-old lawyer and businesswoman, on Wednesday night shared her opinions, re-posting a widely-shared image discussing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.(Snip) Harris commented alongside the post: 'If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. I stand in solidarity with the Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah.' Harris's activism did not sit well with many.

Marxism says demonizing WHITE people is anti-racism. Racism is bad, so WHITE people must be bad as well. Is it really OK to stop hating them, or is Disney's bottom line more important than openly mocking and insulting the paying customers?
