Do those yard signs signal virtue or stupidity?

On a recent walk, I came across a neighborhood littered with the yard sign in this photo. It seems the provocative platitudes we’ve seen on bumper stickers for a century have now taken root in our yards.
And for the same reason: To tell the world that the sign-planter holds wonderful beliefs that he’s willing to impose upon and attribute to the rest of his family. It’s surely not because the sign-planter thinks he’s persuading anyone of the rightness of his position, as if the neighbors reading the sign will say to themselves, “Gee, ‘Democracy dies in darkness’ is a great point. I’d never thought of it that way.”

It’s bad to be a moron. It’s much worse to advertise that fact.

People across the street from me until a month ago had a sign that said "Hate has no place here." I never asked them about it but I wondered do they think our neighborhood is full of haters. I don't think so.
Virtue signaling is very important. (unless you signal the wrong kind of virtue, such as supporting the police)

Especially obnoxious is, “White Silence is Violence!” — a sign held up by a liberal white girl.

Those signs are lamb's blood on the doorframe so the mob will pass over them.
It's a new religion and they feel themselves to be the Chosen.

As we passed a couple of "Black Lives Matter" signs on our road I told my wife we should vandalize these by putting an "O" in front of Lives.

The sign does not mention that anal sex is the only true love act.

Ah, the joys of virtue signaling. Bet it makes them happy when their neighbors pat them on the back. No doubt more than a few would rather kick them in the pants. Its all rather hypocritical.
Science is real, except when it is politicized, and then its fake.
Democracy dies in the darkness. Actually it dies at the point of a gun. It also dies from ignorance and dishonesty.
Black live do matter. Tell the blacks that. Many of their problems are self inflicted. Btw, all lives matter, and to deny that is dishonest.
Affordable healthcare is a right. Hope you like paying for everyone's free healthcare. Here's the tax bill.
No human is illegal. Bet you wouldn't house any of those illegals. Don't be dishonest.
Water if life. Doesn't matter. Climate Change is still a scam. Again, here's your tax bill. Hope you like your loss of rights. All in the name of saving the planet.
Kindness is everything. Except when anyone disagrees with you, and then you beat people over the head with your beliefs. Not very kind of you. Again, don't be dishonest.

Let’s cut to the gist:

Those signs and the believe signs are all over the South Hill in Spokane where I live. We are trying to move to Idaho but houses are ridiculously priced about $50,000 over what they are worth. We may have to wait until prices stabilize.

A copy of this article should be stuffed into the mailboxes of everyone who has this stupid sign in their yards.
It wouldn't do much good - - but at least those egocentric virtue-signalers would know that they're being mocked.

In this house we believe that simplistic platitudes, trite tautologies and semantically overloaded aphorisms are poor substitutes for respectful and rational discussions about complex ideas.
Shamelessly stolen, I wish I had the attribution.

And part of what's going on is that no matter what YOU think, you can't put it on a sign in your yard or on your car. If you do, you know what will happen to you. So you stay silent. And that's the point. Then all those folks think they're the majority when they're not and you don't know you are.

Signs to make them feel good and show how 'woke' they are when they just show their neighbors what a bunch of morons they have living next to them. At least we get to identify besides the eternal mask wearers of the future.

If I’m a criminal, I’m hitting those SJW houses first...since they are SO tolerant they won’t mind me helping myself to their stuff, or family members, right?

That sign presents a kerygma for the woke religion, many parts of which are nonsense statements able to be distorted into whatever shape serves the present needs of whichever wokester is using them. For example -- "Science is real." Yeah, so are stupidity, inaccuracy, ambiguity, and duplicity. Science is a systematic process governed by disciplines used to seek and identify truths. Science is not the end product (truth), itself.
Sure, science is real. But Transgenderism is not. Nor is Critical Race Theory.
And "no human being is illegal", without context, is completely meaningless. Because humans can and do commit illegal acts, a common example of which is to sneak across a nation's legitimate borders or overstay their official permission to be there. We call those "illegal aliens"...

So well written. We had a sign in our neighborhood and I attended a zoom meeting of the Homeowners Assoc. I told them the sign was racist and hateful because of the BLM bs. They finally took it down after I provided tons of info on the BLM movement. Fight back, get off the couch, stick it in their ear. Truth matters not BS.

I have signs in my yard. They said "No Trespass" because I have evil neighbors who think laws don't apply to them.
