At the virtual Leaders’ Climate Summit on Thursday, climate czar John Kerry made the claim that even if a goal of net-zero emissions is achieved, carbon dioxide will still need to be removed from the atmosphere.
Kerry spoke through a screen as the summit was held on a virtual format, saying, “Even if we get to net zero, we still have to get carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. This is a bigger challenge than a lot of people have really grabbed onto yet.”

n the debate over whether one should or should not get the COVID vaccination, much has been said about the “science.” However, I’m not sure any encyclopedic knowledge of “science” is required to make this health decision. Simple statistical analysis should suffice to inform one’s ultimate decision.
Statistics is primarily a study of probabilities. Fortunately, as regards COVID mortality rates, these probabilities are now known. That is, COVID mortality statistics broken down by age cohorts are now “known knowables.”
For example, through statistics as of April 7, the odds an American under the age of 25 would die from COVID were 1-in-106,217.

The Mayor of Portland says he is determined to reclaim the city from the 'anarchistic mob' that has inflicted 'criminal intimidation and violence' on its streets over the past year. Mayor Ted Wheeler called on the pubic to help him identify the people responsible for the rioting and destruction Portland so he could 'unmask them, arrest them and prosecute them.' A violent black mob beat a disabled driver with a cane after he accidentally hit a car that was pulling donuts on a street in Los Angeles, the video originally posted on Instagram and removed shortly after shows.
They were filmed squaring up to him even as he wailed ‘Sorry! Sorry!’ and ‘I’ll give you everything I got bro.’
His pleas ended up falling on deaf ears, with one man seen punching the terrified Honda driver in the face even after realizing he was disabled.
The terrifying video has one moment of karmic justice.

Climate change is not an isolated crisis — it is a symptom of our economic system. That system has jeopardized the future of life on this planet. (Snip) It is important that we understand climate change as a byproduct of an economic system based on extraction, exploitation, accumulation through dispossession — and racism. It threatens everyone’s physical health, mental health, air, quality, water access, food systems and shelter and the very land that holds our communities. But it affects some of us much more than others.Extreme weather events like the most recent arctic freeze that struck Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Tennessee

Last week, Katya wrote an outstanding essay about the perils of woke math. This week, Virginia’s Department of Education announced that it will be eliminating accelerated maths classes in all public schools as they strive for “equity.”
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is moving to eliminate all accelerated math options prior to 11th grade, effectively keeping higher-achieving students from advancing as they usually would in the school system.

Caitlyn Jenner was born as a boy named Bruce and grew into a heck of a man. After his college football career was cut short by a knee injury, the young man switched to the decathlon. Competitors must excel in 10 very different sports including jumping, sprinting, pole vaulting, shot putting, discus throwing and distance running.
Bruce was a dedicated and gifted athlete. He won the Gold Medal in the Olympic Decathlon in 1976 at a time when the Soviet block routinely cheated with drugs. He not only won, but set a world record in doing so.
In the game of life, Bruce was just getting warmed up.
