How long has it been since January 20?
A bit under three months. Frankly, it feels like a lifetime, when it comes to all the things that Joe Biden has been able to screw up in such a short period of time.
The NY Post’s Michael Goodwin listed some of the lowlights in a great piece Saturday. If it ain’t broke… no worries, Joe Biden will break it for you.
Biden created a crisis at the border after President Donald Trump had fixed it through almost sheer force of will, despite Democrats trying to check him at every turn. Trump’s ability to make a deal with Mexico to essentially become the wall,

Roughly 100 of America’s top corporate leaders and CEOs gathered both in-person and virtually on Saturday to strategize ways to combat new election integrity laws like Georgia’s H.B. 531. Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a Yale University management professor who helped organize the meeting, framed it as a response to threats of reprisals after Georgia-based companies like Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola, and Aflac Insurance condemned the Georgia bill. He called election integrity measures “anti-undemocratic.”
“The gathering was an enthusiastic voluntary statement of defiance against threats of reprisals for exercising their patriotic voices,” Sonnenfeld told CBS News. The corporate leaders “recognize that they need to step up to the plate

The focus of President Joe Biden’s $2.3 trillion infrastructure bill is allegedly to address aging infrastructure across the country, but the massive bill covers a vast amount of other spending, including money for “diversifying” neighborhoods.
This portion of Biden’s American Jobs Plan would change zoning laws to end single family home neighborhoods and allow for multiple unit “affordable” or low-income rental housing.
According to the White House Fact Sheet, the housing effort is “an innovative new approach to eliminate state and local exclusionary zoning laws, which drive up the cost of construction and keep families from moving to neighborhoods with more opportunities

Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that she is “seeing a surge “of coronavirus cases despite having very strict controls on her population in the name of COVID-19 mitigation.
Partial transcript as follows:
MARGARET BRENNAN, HOST CBS’S “FACE THE NATION”: Governor, you have publicly called for a surge of vaccine doses to your state, but the White House’s COVID response coordinator, Jeff Zients, as we played at the top of the show, shot that down. Does this- I mean does this offer that they’re giving you of vaccinators, of resources make up for the fact that they’re not charging you doses?

Much has been made on the right about the decision by Major League Baseball to move the All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver, ostensibly in “solidarity” with those opposed to the changes in election law passed by the GOP-controlled legislature.
I was critical of the decision at the time, and remain critical of the explanation that was given — essentially that the State of Georgia had sought to wrongfully suppress the ability of minority voters to cast ballots. Most objective analyses of the Georgia law show that the changes put in place bring Georgia in line with many other states and that there are Democrat-controlled

It appears President Joe Biden’s effort to ram his agenda through using executive orders isn’t going to go unchallenged. According to a recent report, Republican attorneys general in various states are preparing to launch a series of legal challenges against the White House to oppose many of the numerous executive orders the president has issued.
The Daily Caller reported:
In less than three months since President Joe Biden was sworn into office, Republican states have waged war on his agenda, suing the administration on climate change, energy, immigration and taxation policy. But the conservative attorneys general who started filing the lawsuits in March said they aren’t done yet

Joe Biden may have been something like a moderate, once. As a senator, he defended the Hyde Amendment, which protects pro-life taxpayers from footing the bill for something they consider to be murder. Senator Biden also voted for the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in 1993. Even as late as 2003, Biden voted for a bill to prohibit partial-birth and late-term abortion. Biden did indeed work with Republicans to pass legislation. In 1987, Biden condemned Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s scheme to pack the Supreme Court to support the New Deal.
Alas, that Joe Biden is nowhere to be found in the White House.

NEW YORK — How have Hollywood and Broadway responded to an exposé detailing routine abuse and bullying by producer Scott Rudin? Mostly, with crickets.
The Hollywood Reporter’s cover story Wednesday on Rudin was, undoubtedly, a must-read for anyone in the film, television and theater businesses. Stories about a Hollywood heavyweight throwing glass bowls, staples and baked potatoes at underlings are hard to put down.
The trade publication spoke to four former employees who agreed to be named on the record to detail stories about the toxic work environment, in addition to some who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retribution. One former employee describes how Rudin was irate

Earlier today, Joe Biden announced he was signing an executive order creating a “bipartisan” commission to explore ‘reforming’ the Supreme Court.
As we explained, the commission would be looking at all kinds of possible revisions to the Court, including court packing. The commission would consider “the length of service and turnover of justices on the Court; the membership and size of the Court; and the Court’s case selection, rules, and practices.” In other words, Biden and the Democrats would look at all kinds of things they could do to politicize the one branch of government which was explicitly created not to be political.
So let’s listen to Joe Biden

We live in a world in which race discrimination is ubiquitous. Universities, government agencies and all major employers systematically discriminate in favor of some races, and against others, under the banner of “affirmative action.” This has been going on for 50 years. And yet, the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of equal protection has been applied to ban race discrimination by public entities in a number of contexts. Similarly, the Civil Rights Act purports to bar race discrimination in employment and public accommodations. Such discrimination in employment is nevertheless pretty much universal; see, e.g., United Airlines’ recent declaration of its intent to discriminate

Mild-mannered Canadian professor and psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson found himself in a starring role in the MCU earlier this week as supervillain Red Skull. As PJ Media’s Tyler O’Neil reported:
Marvel fans are well-familiar with Captain America’s nemesis, Red Skull, a man too evil for Adolf Hitler. Seriously, Red Skull sets up the evil organization Hydra to go where Hitler would not, and only Captain America can stop him. In the latest version of the comics, written by none other than Ta-Nehisi Coates, Red Skull draws inspiration from none other than Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson.
Peterson initially responded with alarm, but it appears his loyal fan base rallied

President Joe Biden is set to issue an executive order on Friday forming a bipartisan commission that will perform a 180-day study of potential changes to the Supreme Court, including court packing and setting term limits for justices.
“The Commission’s purpose is to provide an analysis of the principal arguments in the contemporary public debate for and against Supreme Court reform, including an appraisal of the merits and legality of particular reform proposals,” the White House said in a statement. “The topics it will examine include the genesis of the reform debate; the Court’s role in the Constitutional system
