America and the West’s policy of “constructive engagement” with Communist China make up the most egregious case of wishful thinking in history. For almost fifty years, the West has pumped trillions of dollars into the Chinese experiment and now has little to show for it except a much stronger China. Fortunately, many Americans are now waking up to the dangers of dealing with the Chinese dragon. It is not a moment too soon. (snip) Unless there is a consistent policy that limits the American contact, education and trade with China, nothing will be done. Foreign policy must be built on facts, not fancy.
And we allowed the Socialists, who are beholden to Communist China, to install a stooge in the White House. Does anyone seriously think that Plugs will go against the wishes of Beijing?

Brace yourselves . . . we're slouching our way into soft, steady submission to a people who gave us the word "kowtow."
The Chinese Navy week regularly drop anchor in our coastal ports; their sailors will enthusiastically "date" our daughters. Will be too distracted with their cheap electronics to figure out what's going on.

Let us remember that it was a Republican president, Richard Nixon, that opened American doors to China. The propaganda of the day was the importance of bringing China into the "world family" and the shear force of free markets would overwhelm communist ideology. I was in high school and can still remember the live footage of Dick and Pat descending the staircase of Air Force One onto a red carpet surrounded by the smiling Chinese politburo.
After my conversion to conservatism, I believed Nixon was terribly abused as a candidate for governor of California. He was correct about the media with his famous rebuke, "You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore." Like all political promises that one was not honored and he made the big "come back" to be president. His signature achievement was opening up China to the West, and then he was summarily dismissed. Now that we know about the Deep State and its century in the making, how Swampy was Nixon? Was America sold out in 1972?

Looking back, Nixon going to China may not have been the best idea. It reminds me of the Berlin wall coming down which allowed the commies in Eastern Europe and Russia to migrate to Western Europe.
In an alternate history where Nixon never traveled to China, where would China be? Would some one else have opened the door to China? Would China still be isolated from the rest of the world? Would China unilaterally have opened up?

Let's go back to the original purpose for opening up Red China by Kissinger and Nixon...anyone?
No, not to produce cheap stuff for American consumption. It was to create pressure on Soviet Russia on its eastern flank. When Nixon visited, China already had the bomb and delivery systems...and were a concern to the Russians.
The problem with these sorts of things is they get out of hand. It didn't take long for American companies, in the spirit of international friendship, of course, to start shipping "simple" jobs to China, where people worked for pennies and gave no problems. It was such a good deal, more and more companies jumped into the waters, including strategic companies like Boeing. The USA, being the capitalists they are, kept "buying rope" from the ChiComs, sharing tech then watching the reverse engineering and even cheaper production of goods by their partners.
Foreign "experts" always see a static world. None predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union or reunification of Europe, nor anticipated the shock waves in international affairs...and then there was this growing Chinese economy begging to be sold stuff while building itself into a military monstrosity. And what we sold them was more of our developed business. America still hasn't figured it out. Russia is still out "main" adversary, although it's hardly able to apply power outside its borders. And here we are...fifty years later we find our politicians and businesses in the pockets of the Chinese. Let's see how we buy our way out...if it's even possible anymore.

I absolutely will NOT purchase anything with a "made in China" label. At times this is inconvenient, but my wife and I hold to it. Finding a card these days is more difficult, all the ones in the Hallmark stores were marked "made in China", same in two grocery stores. On a whim, I tried the Dollar Tree.....Hallmark cards, made in USA....for much less money than the "made in China" cards.
There are choices. Choose to NEVER buy something made in Chinese. And note that when you are asked, "Did you find everything you wanted?" which is common in stores these days at the checkout, or "can I help you?" by a clerk....have them show you the goods, look at the package and say "Don't you have any not made in China? I won't buy things made in China."
If a lot of us did this, they'd get the message and stop purchasing goods from China.

I keep coming back to the idea that the real solution is a full on nuclear strike, but that isn't going to happen, even if it IS the solution to the "China problem".

Biden isn't the first president the Chinese owned lock stock and barrel. He was preceded to that claim by Bill Clinton. It was during Slick Willie's his administration when many of our Natl Security secrets were stolen or given away by mistake by then, Secretary of Energy, Bill Richardson, former Governor of NM. It was during the Clinton administration when Payola became the new norm in DC and way to wealth in DC.
