Asian Americans are flocking to gun stores to arm themselves for self-defense amid the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes. Forbes spoke to Jimmy Gong, owner of Jimmy’s Sport Shop in Mineola, New York, and he said, “There are more Asians being introduced to firearms. Before, there was never gun culture in the Asian community. But after the pandemic and all the hate crime going on, there are more Asians buying guns to defend themselves.” Gong noted his business doubled during the era of coronavirus, and half of his customer base is comprised of Asian Americans.

Boulder grocery massacre leaves 10 dead including cop, suspect in custody
Ten people were killed, including a veteran police officer, during a mass shooting Monday inside a grocery store in Boulder, Colo., authorities said at a late press conference.
The officer was identified as Eric Talley, 51, who served on the force since 2010. He was the first officer at King Soopers, the crime scene, after the shooting occurred at about 2:30 p.m. His actions were called heroic.

Metro Police have released body cam and dash footage of a deadly shootout Friday morning involving a Metro officer and a woman. Officer Josh Baker is recovering at a Nashville hospital and is in stable condition. The woman, 31-year-old woman Nika Holbert, has died.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the shooting took place in the parking lot at Dollar General on Brick Church Pike and Ewing Drive at about 9:30 this morning.
East Precinct Officer Josh Baker, a 14-year Metro police veteran and field training officer, was shot and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Metro police tweeted.

Let me be honest from the start of this. I’m not religious. I’m an agnostic. That is, I cannot say with any degree of certainty whether God exists or not. That would be any God, Christian, Muslim, or take your pick. My belief is much like a coin, flipped into the air to land, improbably, on edge and stand there. Perhaps wobbling and teetering a bit, but not ready to take that leap of faith one way or the other.
