A nexus can be formed among seemingly unrelated things during unusual times. Such is the case with dogs, COVID-19, mental health, politicians, and China’s history of peddling toxic products.
Americans of all ages have experienced a harmful lack of social interaction in the last year, with no definitive end in sight. For millions, the best therapy is a dog.
As the acquisition of furry friends skyrockets and our dependence on them increases with our isolation, those dogs’ health may be at risk from food and supplements made with ingredients sourced in China. First they sent us COVID-19, and now —

China is who we would have become and remained during/following the Industrial Revolution were it not for our representative constitutional government. Authors like Upton Sinclair horrified the US with stories of the Chicago meat-packing/food processing industry. Our right to free assembly gave rise to unionization and hard-fought worker rights for self-protection including living wages against tyrranical monopolistic oligarchs (yes, even in America). China and its polluted environ is what happens when a government becomes overly powerful and no political mechanisms exist to reign in abuses of the land and population. We have little power to curb the ChiComs except to wall them in and to do so in every sense of the word. We MUST protect ourselves - and our pets. They otherwise have no reason to give a damn otherwise. And we for damn sure cannot trust our own current One World Order oligarchs to care about us either.

The author's quote of her mother, “Dogs are God’s way of showing us how to treat each other.” is a great quote. For years I've said that families should always have dogs to show their children how to love unconditionally.
On another note, the article is lacking specifics on brands to avoid.

This was the huge component of PDJT’s American manufacturing rebirth . All pharma my st be on shore ! The woo-flu showed one of our suicidal weaknesses & •warpspeed” showed it can be changed .The dog/pet friendly heartstring schtick , Yes we love our pets & they are good for & to us .But the entire off shoring of strategic materials is a crime . Why we just installed a xicom trade rep is treason

#1, deftly summarized. If at all possible, stay away from Chinese products of any sort. When we buy anything sourced or partly sourced from China every penny they get is used against us.

I have an unsolicited suggestion: fresh food that is either refrigerated, freeze dried or made in your own kitchen. It is healthier and cheaper in the long run. Cut out the China middleman!

Couldn’t read the article — already reached the free article limit. This isn’t the first time China has provided adulterated foodstuffs in the last 20 years. Producers were adding melamine to a grain component of animal foods to boost protein numbers and shipping the tainted product to US pet food manufacturers. Dogs and cats all over the country were dying of kidney failure. They did the same to baby formula. Safety standards in China are terrible and the CCP doesn’t care unless it’s embarrassed by a scandal.
One of my cats died of kidney failure during that period, but I can’t say for certain that the food (one of the suspect brands) was the culprit, because my other cat was not affected. Still, I sometimes wonder.

We are kindred spirits in that suggestion, #6.
We do just that since moving to the homestead. Our goal is to have our own garden be the main grocery store for us. We must all steer clear as much as possible from China made food. Its worse than bad.

It's amazing that transportation is so cheap now that even dog food can be imported all the way from China. If transportation cost what it did 60 years ago all the imports from China would be prohibitively expensive.

Purchasing ANYTHING made in China is supporting our enemy, and helping them to destroy us and fund the evil folks here who work for them, like Traitor Joe and China Mitch.

#2, It’s pretty easy to go online and research dog food brands and where the ingredients come from.

We lost 2 cats a few years ago from eating canned cat food from a national chain store. Our cats started throwing up....and eventually died...cat food was from the chain who buys from China.

Make sure you read the label of everything you give your dog to eat or put in its mouth. Several years ago, my son's dog died from internal bleeding what we think was from him giving his dog a popular Dog Food...the name of which starts with the letter i. It was one of the suspected dog foods brands at that time. Since, I inspect everything that I give my dogs. Don't buy bargains. Also, be careful with your own food. Read the packaging thoroughly.

one thing the Chicoms have as a distinguishing characteristic is that the value of life is worth only to its political value that goes for the whole communist philosophy, actually

Sunny’s Miracle Diet. Used this after the previous China dog food poisoning. Dog’s blood levels were nearly perfect after it was introduced.

Recently I noticed that China is inundating our grocery stores with packaged frozen fish. I bought some without realizing the source. The one thing that I noticed is that the fish is injected with huge amounts of water and shrinks about 40% after cooking.

They've been killing our pets for a long, long time. I lost a good cat to them several years ago and nothing has changed since then. Communists have no standards or ethics. Their countries are filthy pits and their people are essentially slaves.
Buy real, locally-sourced food and cook it yourself. Yes, your cats and dogs are carnivores. Feed them some hamburger. They'll be grateful. Buy used goods if you need anything else.
