Dictionary.com announced Thursday that it had added 600 new words to its collection, including many words relating to social justice preferences. The outlet’s article about the new words notes that it added 450 completely new entries along with 94 new definitions to existing entries, many of which have to do with the vocabulary surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.“Technical updates include revised definitions at acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS for short) and variants and strains, owing to new forms of the novel coronavirus. Modified social rituals like the elbow bump caught our attention, especially as the gesture evolved to include more forearm contact than the name implies,” the website wrote.

‘Supposably’? For real? Oh well, I guess when you can’t speak correct English, anything goes.

Wouldn't be surprised to see "conversate" in there, too (you'll hear it used often on Judge Judy and she doesn't correct it. - maybe she gave up).

How about 'nother' in place of another. I heard it used on TV yesterday. Or 'read or red' as in I read up the room. I've heard that all my life here in rural Ohio.

I have real trouble with all the "new words" mentioned above. Two that get me are "prolly" for probably, and disrespect, used and a verb as in "He disrespected me" rather than "He was disrespectful to me." We are going to get to the point of needing a translator because we have dumbed down our language and it has been accepted in places where it should not have been, like our classrooms. Just watch Judge Judy. There are people, educated in the United States who do not possess a vocabulary large enough to make themselves understood, much less make their case. Hold down a good job? Never. I do believe it's all part of the Left's "big plan." Keep them stupid, they are much easier to control.

Exactly, what does an "influencer" do? Seeing that pop up lately. Think it is supposed to be a noun.
I am happy to see this "word" was underlined in red when I typed it, which means it is misspelled or is not a word to begin with. (Sorry for ending a sentence with a preposition.)

Ebonics is a prime example of the denigration of the English language. So why be surprised at the addition of a few non sensible words to the dictionary?

I think you mean "dissed", #27. I always noticed verbal slips like that. Most of the time it was "supposively". Then there are men who have problems with their "prostrate" gland. Sometimes people write of something they "should of" done. The list goes on.
