This writer knows a leftwing corporate lawyer who sees our society as top-heavy with a rich, exploitative class drinking glasses of champagne while there are millions of starving children in America, millions of homeless in the streets, degradation and hopelessness everywhere based on economic deprivation as well as racist, sexist, and moral rigidity.... To him, there are too many Marie Antoinette types laughing in their palaces saying to the miserable masses, "Let them eat cake...." In his mind, most of those laughing are Republicans with a few Democrats thrown into this heartless, capitalist mix. He is obsessed with the “heartless” top 1% or .1%

Corporate lawyer?! He must be making high 6 figures. Why doesn't he donate his salary to alleviate the situation.

Yeah, A left wing corporate lawyer? He may not be in the top 1%, but very likely is in the top 5%.

Actually, there IS a class war going on and there is a subset of the top 1% who ARE traitors and are fascist corporatists who want global governance and want to destroy the U.S. and the middle class as well as any opportunity for upward mobility for the vast majority of us. That does not make case for socialism or any other leftist ideology. However, the (undoubtedly) well-off corporate attorney is not so far off in blaming wealthy people for the problems we are facing. It just is NOT all the uber-wealthy who are responsible and it isn't because of their wealth either. Still, there are a large group of millionaires and billionaires who have colluded with each other and foreign entities to increase their power, control and wealth exponentially at the expense of the rest of us. They control 90% of the media, the entertainment industry, high-tech industries, most of the largest institutions and they are constantly buying favors from government to kill off competition and all dissent to their greed and megalomania. They DO need to be stopped. Ironically, the leftist lawyer is on their side. He is just too stupid to realize that he is implicating his own people because he is trying to use the old Marxist approach which no longer applies to the new tyrant class.

0.1% is the main problem because they got there they are by closing opportunities for the rest, their wealth has nothing to do with capitalism or meritocracy, and they are the radical left.
1% is mostly problematic but it is more diverse, so there are some tiny positive spots among them.

I would include big tech in that top 1%, so they do have a problem. Its more than big tech though. I would include in the problem group all those that want to force their views and ideals upon the rest of society. In particular those on the left who are shutting down all dissenting discussion.

it is not the 1% but the Executive, Congressional and Judicial branches of our government that are causing whatever problems exist in our county today.

America is the only country in history that has a child obesity problem and a child starvation problem at the same time, among the same group of children. The fact is, there is no hunger problem in the US. There are multiple government programs--food stamps, free school lunch and breakfast, housing assistance, welfare payments--that ensure no child goes hungry. That a corporate lawyer is leftwing is no surprise. The left is being supported mainly by the wealthy and super-wealthy: Bill Gates, Jeff Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet, George Soros, to name a few. Law firms are mostly woke these days. Corporations, too. It is apparently the penance they feel they have to do to justify their privileged positions. It gives them excuse to insulate themselves from poverty and race by living in gated communities or exclusive co-op apartments or fenced-in and security-guarded estates and sending their kids to expensive (and 90+% white) private schools. The rest of us have to deal with things like street crime, high taxes, bad public schools, but are still expected to apologize for being white, or having a job, or wanting to preserve the dwindling number of things that made this country great.
