Dumbest ‘insurrection theatre’
stunt of the week

Original Article

Posted By: Magnante, 3/6/2021 4:59:45 AM

The relentless campaign to demonize supporters of President Trump entered the realm of self-parody this past week, with warnings that the US Capitol and democracy itself were in danger on March 4 because QAnon saw that date as the real inauguration day. It was all balderdash, a PsyOp aimed at delegitimizing support for Trump or questioning the integrity of the presidential election. Even the Washington Post admitted there was nothing to it, calling the reports a “mirage.” (snip) Al Green, a Democrat from the Houston area, [undertook] a stunt of surpassing stupidity that was taken with deadpan seriousness by much of the media.

Al Green and the other congress critters showed just how brave they were on January 6th and afterward in their blubbering hysteria session. These people have no idea what bravery is. As a boy of nineteen, my dad got into a boat and landed on the beach as part of the third wave of landings at Iwo Jima. That was when the Japanese opened up with their withering, pre-sighted, overlapping fire. Dad was severely wounded, returned home, married Mom and lived life quietly as a plumber. The courage and integrity politicians in the capital are nothing compared to Dad, who was the least and greatest of men, and signed every greeting card with the final words, "Jesus only".

Today is the 6th - which became a factor when no one showed up on the 4th - the Dems had to switch their "intelligence" to saying the insurrectionists would return March 4-6. I expect when no one shows up by noon it will extend to March 31, then when that fails to happen, we'll need the National Guard to July 4, of course. Then it will go to Christmas, then we start the 2022 calendar again. This whole phony "insurrection" must play well to focus groups as well as Democrat fundraising.

Well March 4th was a bust, so now the narrative is that QAnon (I still don't know what that is) has chosen March 20th. So the communist's attention now shifts to a March 20th attack. I wonder how many reporters will be on site at the Capitol this time to report nothing happened.

I confess to a tiny drop of pity for Trump-haters within the tidal wave of amusement I experience watching them deal with the successes President Trump already has experienced. The worst of it for TDS sufferers right now must be the border, where within mere weeks, and to the enthusiastic approval of the American people, President Trump has stanched the flow of millions of unvetted foreigners down to an almost undetectable trickle. Consider the dilemma this creates for the Ministry of Progressive Propaganda, also known as the New York Times.

Now that Elon Musk is on Trump’s team and the latest two-minute hate (and vandalism) target, he must not be allowed to look heroic in the media. But the spectacle of his SpaceX stepping up to rescue the astronauts who have been left in orbit at the International Space Station for months longer than planned is awfully compelling and—face it—downright epic. (snip) the most politically devastating aspect of the rescue for Democrats is that Musk says he offered to rescue the lost in space crew during the Biden presidency

Republicans, accustomed to being blamed by the media for federal government shutdowns, should not worry about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s plan to oppose cloture on the “clean” funding bill Speaker Johnson’s House just passed. There are multiple good reasons why they can relax on this one: Trump knows how to fight (snip) He knows how to use branding and understands the power of alliteration to embed expressions in the human mind (e.g., “big, beautiful bill”). The “Schumer Showdown” will be the name. (snip) Trump will not engage in the stupid game of putting up barriers to prevent the public from entering national parks.

I almost cheered out loud when I read that the Trump administration has cancelled $400 million in funding for Columbia University, despite the fact that when I taught there about three-and-a half-decades ago, I no doubt directly benefitted from federal money flowing in, enjoyed my colleagues, and was treated very well. My animus and support for the cuts derives from the reluctant conclusion that as an institution, it has been corrupted, and nothing less than traumatic levels of change are required.
The Upside Of A Terminal Illness 13 replies

I doubt that anyone forgets the moment when a doctor tells them that they are never going to recover from the illness that brought them in and led to all those diagnostic tests. It’s terminal and it’s only a matter of time before you die. Add in the words “There’s no known cure, and we don’t even know what causes it” and the verdict seems absolute: you’re without hope. Yet my experience over the five and a half years since these words were spoken to me has not felt tragic; to the contrary, I have discovered a surprising upside to the de facto death sentence.

There must be a lot of sour stomachs among Democrats in the wake of Donald Trump’s acceptance speech Thursday night. It’s not entirely clear if he was real or fictional. Most historians believe he was probably real, but it’s tricky to verify: The legend of Lucius Cincinnatus was (enthusiastically) retold in Titus “Livy” Livius’ book, the “History of Rome,” which was written a few decades before Christ. Unquestionably, Livius’ book included real, verifiable, historic events, but it also included the mythology of the Trojan War and tales of magical twins suckled by a she-wolf. But the legend of Lucius Cincinnatus still endures. He’s even the namesake of an American city in southwest Ohio. And his story continues to influence kings, queens, emperors, and (yes) even U.S. presidents.

It’s a stunning rebuke from a paper that typically carries the water for Dems. The Times finally admitted the obvious: Democrats' obsession with identity politics and their "scolding, censorious posture" have driven voters straight into Republicans' arms. “In the aftermath of this comprehensive defeat, many party leaders have decided that they do not need to make significant changes to their policies or their message,” the editorial board writes. “They have instead settled on a convenient explanation for their plight.”
