Good Riddance To Drudge

Original Article

Posted By: JayD, 7/30/2020 9:33:37 AM

It used to be a thrill for conservatives to get “Drudged” – to have their piece linked on the Drudge Report. It meant traffic (which translated into money) and that a large audience would see it. It probably still means those things, only now it means them to progressive writers and websites. Whatever Drudge was, it’s not anymore. ...snip... Aside from his love of weather porn, Tom Brady, and anything Oprah or transgender-related, you might as well go to CNN. At least with CNN you’re getting it from the primary source.

Comments:

There is no way Drudge is getting the same number of eyes as in the past. The only reason his numbers remain high is the annoying auto-refresh. I happily left that site behind years ago.

I used to check Drudge multiple times a day. It was my second go-to (after this site) every morning. I took it off my bookmarks and haven't checked it in months. Aside from the anti-Trump stuff, it is a downer. Drudge revels in stock market dips, corona virus deaths, negative poll numbers. I don't need that in my life.

Twenty+ years ago, a newcomer to internet news, I used Drudge as an index to interesting sites. That is how I found Lucianne. Left him long ago when I realized he was going to the Other Side and that I no longer needed an index.

Only went to Drudge a few times. Didn't see the use in it. It was basically just a list of links. I had already found Lucianne which always provided the first paragraph of each article. Viola, no need for Drudge. Lucianne provides much more info.

FTA: "Aside from his love of weather porn, Tom Brady, and anything Oprah or transgender-related, you might as well go to CNN." Hunter left out sex dolls. Everything I know about the sex doll industry (and it is TMI), I learned from articles linked by Drudge. At first, it was a window on a unknown world. After a while, it was downright creepy.

Nowadays, going there is simply... disgusting. I have links to my favorite authors in my favorites list and I've dropped drudge like a rock in a mud-pit. Splotches! Outa sight, outa mind.

By now, everyone recognizes Dr. Anthony Fauci. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is one of the most cited immunology researchers of all time and unquestionably one of the most acclaimed.[snip] However, our elected representatives, the public and the media misunderstand his focused role and even his expertise as a scientist. Basic science underlying a viral pandemic is absolutely critical. But now is the time for the design of sound public policy — and that involves a far broader formulation than a single-minded focus on stopping COVID-19 at all costs.

She also publicly tore up a cease-and-desist letter from Dallas County that ordered her to close. Luther was also ordered to pay a fine of $3,500 along with $500 per day that her salon is open until Friday, May 8.

Outrage is exploding over a push by numerous Democrats to get people to donate to wildfire "relief funds" facilitated through ActBlue, the party's scandal-ridden fundraising apparatus. As RedState reported on Saturday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom made the ill-advised move to go on "Pod Save America," a far-left show run by former Barack Obama staffers, while large parts of Los Angeles County still burned. His attempt to pass the buck and paint himself as an innocent bystander amid a laundry list of government failures was bad enough, but then came the plea for donations.
