When his adviser Kellyanne Conway justified President Donald Trump’s inflated estimate of the size of the crowd at his inauguration, she used the term “alternative facts.” Thus began the new President’s ceaseless cascade of lies and claims of “fake news” — the collapse of reality. His attacks on congressional leader Elijah Cummings and the city of Baltimore — clearly designed to pit whites against minorities — is a distortion of factual reality.

The past several days have left many Jews in the United States feeling shell-shocked. Attacks against them seem to be coming from all quarters.First, on Thursday, the New York Times’ International Edition published a stunningly antisemitic cartoon on its op-ed page. It portrayed a blind President Donald Trump wearing the garb of an ultra-Orthodox Jew, replete with a black suit and a black yarmulke, with the blackened sunglasses of a blind man being led by a seeing-eye dog with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s face.
The media has been so quiet on the Yellow Jackets in France that you could be excused for thinking my title refers to some kind of invasion by weird wasps. Well, for the record, it doesn’t. It refers to the ongoing revolt in France by various groups but mostly, honestly, middle aged, middle class people who have just had middle-class enough and are now setting fires to things and making life hell in the ritzy districts of Paris (and elsewhere.)

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man.
Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.

This is what I wake up to!!! How does one deal with such unwillingness to look at the results of our president’s positive actions for our country. IMHO, more fake news and alternative reality is spewed from the gums of Nancy Pelosi and Chuckie Shumer.
