Trump’s lies are a warning for Democracy

When his adviser Kellyanne Conway justified President Donald Trump’s inflated estimate of the size of the crowd at his inauguration, she used the term “alternative facts.” Thus began the new President’s ceaseless cascade of lies and claims of “fake news” — the collapse of reality. His attacks on congressional leader Elijah Cummings and the city of Baltimore — clearly designed to pit whites against minorities — is a distortion of factual reality.

If it weren't for alternate realities, Weed wouldn't have one!

I think I would be mad if I lived in Maryland. Unresponsive and corrupt governance is not a good combination.

For me, the dystopian world that liberals have created began with " . . . but I didn't inhale!"
It was so incredibly stupid!!! And yet, I observed with deep astonishment, as people that I trusted and respected totally shredded their own integrity to protect and support a man whose character was far less than their own. And they knew it! I do remember that at the time, they possessed at least some small amount of shame when I called them on their duplicity.
Today, however, liberals have become completely comfortable with their lies, their hate and their bigotry. Hypocrisy is a now tool of the Left. They are "1984".
These people must be defeated.

Trump does engage in the use of hyperbole quite a lot, but so does every other politician, entertainer or 'news' source. In that regard, all are liars. When you start looking this hard for lies, there will be no end of them. Unfortunately, only one side is ever called out on it and that side engages in hyperbole more than the side being attacked.
If I say I can do a certain job in three hours and it takes four, am I a liar? Maybe I just didn't see the difficulties that cropped up, or maybe there were hidden requirements. Every politician has made promises he was unable to bring to fruition. Did Obama actually 'fundamentally transform America,' and was that a lie, or hyperbole? Some statements aren't hyperbole but ARE lies, such as, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor." The real difference between a lie and hyperbole on the part of politicians is whether or not the statement was meant to mislead people.

PDJT has made lots of promises of things he'd do for America. The things that were within his power to do, are in the process of being completed. The rest are tied up in courts, due to liberal judges, or frivolous lawsuits. The Uniparty has never intended to support this President, or his policies.

All government has a credibility gap. You believe their numbers and conclusions at your own risk. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

The only collapse of reality I see is the claptrap coming from the main stream media...Trump doesn't lie, except in the perverted minds of liberals...he is doing what he PROMISED to do which is more than any president I can remember...you know, like on the campaign trail and then fuggadaboutit...

Having read the article looking for the supposed lies I find that the only thing vaguely listed as a lie is the claim by Trump that the crowd at his inauguration was bigger than claimed by the media and the park dept. Everytime I read one of these liberal rants about lying Trump there is never a list of the lies he supposedly told. Its easy to claim all kinds of things, racism, lying, bigotry, it is especially easy when you self define these things. Considering the number of lies put forward and repeated infinitum by the MSM I am less than impressed when the liars accuse others of lying.

Tales from The Fever Swamp. This is what the Left's echo chamber sounds like. Glad someone posted it - it gives us a glimpse into how the other side thinks (emotes). All judgments and absolutely unchallengeable conclusions (in his mind). Few facts. Amazing how it all fits together in a seamless picture, though. The constant drumbeat has created a caricature where inconvenient facts are omitted - just forgotten. All the News that Fits the Narrative!

“If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor”. Obama repeatedly told the American people that lie without being taken to task by the media. Give us a break!

Re #19, read OP’s comment. I’d say that this was posted by an LDotter who lives where this is a local paper. Annapolis, capital of Maryland. Maryland has been in the news a lot lately. Negatively. Our LDotter knows what it is like firsthand. This article is an example...

This is what I wake up to!!! How does one deal with such unwillingness to look at the results of our president’s positive actions for our country. IMHO, more fake news and alternative reality is spewed from the gums of Nancy Pelosi and Chuckie Shumer.
