House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings reportedly invited President Trump to visit Baltimore amid ongoing fallout over Trump’s criticism of the Maryland Democrat and his characterization of Cummings’s hometown.

The left is trying to make political hay again over a mass shooting in El Paso and then another one in Dayton, blaming the whole thing on -- take your pick, guns, President Trump, or white supremacy. Just look at them go and this is hardly a comprehensive sampling of all versions of these same arguments out there: It's nothing but cheap opportunism of the sleaziest sort.
Guns have been around since the Constitution was signed and mass shootings have been around since the dawn of the 20th century. They seem to be getting more frequent now, which is why people are wanting answers, too.
Ask anyone standing outside of a grocery store who they know is running for president against Donald Trump in 2020 and you’ll probably hear all kinds of answers. Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, for sure. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, probably. Maybe even Marianne Williamson.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said the Democratic presidential primary contenders have “lost their mind” with a slate of progressive policies.

Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) said Saturday President Trump bore some responsibility for a shooting in El Paso, Texas that killed at least 20 people.
Asked by news reporters whether the president was in some part responsible for the shooting, O'Rourke, who formerly served as the city's mayor, responded firmly.

If anything can be gleaned from watching the Democrats debate, it’s this: President Donald Trump doesn’t have much to worry about when it comes to his reelection.
Democrats, after all these months, even with all these candidates, still have nobody for president. There’s no break-away; there’s no front-runner.
There’s no clear leader — certainly, no clear winner.
Bluntly, you know you’ve got a candidate problem when, in a field of 24, the perceived best chance of beating Trump is — Michelle Obama. The one who’s not running.

Ten people were killed Saturday night when gunfire broke out in Dayton, Ohio, according to police. The number of fatalities included the gunman, though how the unidentified shooter died was not immediately clear.
According to Dayton Police, some officers were in the area at the time and "were able to respond and put an end to it quickly."
Witnesses said they saw an unspecified number of “walking wounded” in the area, according to local media reports.
A spokesperson for Miami Valley Hospital said 16 victims were being treated there, NBC News reported. Lt. Col. Carper of the Dayton Police Department also reported at least 16 injured.
