Steve has written a number of times about Germany’s experience with wind power, which illustrates the futility of thinking that renewables can ever replace reliable energy sources like coal, nuclear and natural gas. The latest news from Germany offers an original twist:
The expansion of wind power in the first half of this year collapsed to its lowest level since the introduction of the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) in 2000. All in all, just 35 wind turbines were build with an output of 231 megawatts. “This corresponds to a decline of 82 percent compared to the already weak period of

Green energy proponents continue to hunt for perfection where there are only benefits and no costs.
Hint: that exists only in utopia.
The real world consists of priorities and trade offs. Get used to it.

As President Donald Trump explained in Cincinnati Ohio, Windmills kill a lot of birds and bats and if you have one within a mile of you home your property value will go down. He also explained that Windmills break down and make an enormous noise. When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?

Good news. Wind energy is a total darned disaster, economically, ecologically and aesthetically.
I despise these damned eyesores, killing millions of birds and bats. And stealing money from my wallet and from my tax payments, both state and federal.
The sooner it fails, the better.

And this is one half of the technology that the dems want us to depend on for power. As suggested solar has the same problems. Dems want up to jump into using power supplies that have NO possibility of supplying our power needs.

What happened to that good old fashioned German technology?

So many of these hideous beasts scar the land between Frankfurt and Hamburg that it's an eyesore. The Germans love their land, and these things are disgusting to look at amid the naturally beautiful scenery. When I saw them I wondered just how long it would take before the Germans started to tear them down.

Actually many are rotting in the farmlands throughout the country. No more money to repair the gadgets, and soon it'll be sold for scrap metals to offset the loss from the initial investments.

What Germany needs is another 200+ jets, limos, helicopters flying into Germany for another Bilderberg conference or an invite for the elites to fly in on their 150+ jets, helicopters, and limos for another Greeny conference. 100% subsidies too that can be imposed on those ignorant citizens who don't get the message that the Earth is done for in less than 12 years now.

Germany's experience has been when the wind does not blow they use coal backup plants that increase emissions.
When the wind does blow, it blows to hard (which is a problem with their offshore platforms). The overproduced electrons overwhelm the 30 year electric grid and blow it out. The 30 year grid is destroyed in 7 years.

Solar and wind power certainly have their place, but not as a main energy solution.

Solar energy production makes sense in my 20' RV. Beyond that , I'd need a government subsidy to make it practical.
