White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that President Joe Biden is looking to build out half a million electric vehicle charging stations — focusing on “rural and disadvantaged communities” — as part of his $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.
It should be noted that the average electric car costs around $55,600, and they are best utilized in cities.

Makes about as much sense as building a high speed rail line from Bakersfield to Merced. No customers for either.

Stop and think about how stupid this idea really is, and what a colossal waist of money. How many people in a "disadvantaged community" will have $56,000 dollars for an electric car? Where will the energy come from to power the stations? Another $trillion stimulus?

Excuse me, but the 'disadvantaged community' usually rides the taxpayer funded bus or metro system, or use ambulances to go to the doctor. Well, they might if they thought about it.

People live in rural communities because they like the peace and quiet. They are no more disadvantaged than any other place people live in the country. Electric cars will never be feasible for this country. We're too big, travel too much and who can afford a new battery every few years that costs thousands of dollars.

Put them in rural areas, and they will collect dust and spider webs as they are totally ignored.
Put them in "disadvantaged communities", and they will be torn apart and all the parts that can be resold will be taken -- probably within minutes of them being installed.
Psake has to go home and drink herself to sleep every night, after taking an hour long shower to try to wash the stench of lies off of her. What a horrible job -- to be the official liar for the stolen presidency -- and she does such a horrible job of it on top of that!!!

Putting EV charging stations in poor / marginal neighborhoods makes perfect sense if you use liberal think. The criminals do not need to travel as far, saving energy, thus less pollution and reliance on fossil fuels. The expensive EVs being closer to the criminal neighborhoods will be easier to steal as they are closer to home and in neighborhoods that they are familiar with. Their neighbors are less likely to "witness" the crime if it is someone they know or a person of similar skin tone. The poor neighborhoods won't feel bad about not being able to afford and expensive EV as they will be parked around their neighborhoods and, who knows, they might be able to pick one up cheap from "a friend". Finally, the EV owners must be exposed to the marginal neighborhoods, so that they can see how their White Privilege has enabled them to afford an expensive EV while the oppressed minorities are forced to drive toxic, oppressive gas powered vehicles which are rapidly warming the planet and causing minorities to have a lower quality of life, and not be able to afford and EV!

Oh my. Nobody is asking where the ''disadvantaged communities'' will get the money to buy all those EVs. Wait. I think I know! Just when I thought my BS meter was broken, it began sounding like a doom's day siren.

I make sure I have plenty of gas and never run low so I don't have to stop in 'disadvantaged' communities for even a few gallons because I have no other choice. Can you imagine hanging out for awhile to charge your EV? Didn't think so.

Out here in our rural, disadvantaged community we have to drive long distances between towns. The closest towns north, east and west of us are all about 50 miles away. What we could really use is cheap gas. We have no need for electric cars or having to charge them for hours after we take a trip. These people don't have a clue how most of America lives.

My son lives in rural western Wyoming where basic distance between work, snowfall and extreme cold makes EVs about as impractical as it gets. Even a Tesla getting 300 miles on a charge is useless. If there was demand for charging stations the government wouldn’t need to build the stupid things.

The stupid, it burns. Are there even 500k electric cars in use in rural areas across America? Who is getting rich on this 'infrastructure' boondoggle?
