California officials have added Florida and four other states to a list of places where state-funded travel is banned over laws that purportedly discriminate against LGBTQ individuals. State Attorney General Rob Bonta, a Democrat, announced Monday that Arkansas, Montana, North Dakota and West Virginia had joined Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas on the no-go list, which was first created in 2016. “When states discriminate against LGBTQ+ Americans, California law requires our office to take action,” Bonta said in a statement. “These new additions to the state-funded travel restrictions list are about exactly that
Florida should ban all travel FROM California, as should every other state.

What laws is the CA AG talking about? Would the CA AG deny state-sponsored travel to places like Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, and other places that aren't particularly kind to LGBTQ+ (the rest of the alphabet)? There is no state in the Union that sanctions throwing people off the roofs of buildings because they identify as LGBTQ+ (the rest of the alphabet).
This is stooooooooooooopid!

Aren't those states lucky!
I want them to reconsider their list. Louisiana deserves to be included.

The list of places overpaid state employees can visit on thinly disguised vacations at taxpayer expense is shrinking! No more conferences in Miami or “fact finding trips” to the Keys

There ARE legitimate reasons for state employees to travel to another state. University employees traveling to academic meetings are one example. And reciprocally 'punishing' one's own state employees is probably unwise. The real issue is whether such restrictions are constitutional. Not that I'd trust the Supreme Court to rule wisely. But our US Congress should take this on legally and establish laws which would prohibit this type of political economic warfare between states.

If that could keep California liberals from moving to Texas, well, then I hope Gov. Abbott adds that to laws on the special session of the Texas lege.

California, where it's acceptable - even defendable - for a naked guy to stroll into the women's side of a spa. Never mind the little girls with their moms. He has rights.

These states have the right idea about the alphabet soup group. They don't want equality, they want power and special "rights" that transcend the rights that we NORMAL people have. What would happen if the girl/boy folks were tested to see if they had an X chromosome , and the boy/girl girls were tested to see if they lacked one?

As a Texan, I am thrilled to be on this list of honor!!!
We don't want any more woke lie-berals coming here, even for visits or business. We've already be inundated with refugees fleeing from Cubafornia. We honestly don't want or need any more.
If they are going to escape the evil lie-beralism that is destroying Cubafornia, they need to go to nice lie-beral states where they will feel right at home.
