The once high-flying California lawyer Michael Avenatti deserves a "very substantial" prison sentence for trying to extort millions of dollars from Nike Inc, U.S. prosecutors told a judge.
The Wednesday night recommendation came one week after Avenatti's lawyers said their client should spend no more than six months behind bars plus one year of home confinement.
U.S. District Judge Paul Gardephe is scheduled to sentence Avenatti on June 30 in Manhattan.
Probation officers recommend eight years in prison for Avenatti, and prosecutors said federal guidelines recommend more than 11 years.
Lawyers for Avenatti did not immediately respond on Thursday to requests for comment.

Don't worry. If Avenatti can afford to buy one of Hunter Biden's paintings, I can see a pardon from Sleepy Creepy Crooked President Uncle Joe ready to be signed.

Ummm - - does this mean that Mikey won't be CNN's candidate for president?
On second thought - - this probably makes it more likely.

Which reminds me of the old story in Chicago. If you were stopped for a traffic ticket by a cop, the wise Chicagoan always had a ten or twenty dollar bill conveniently wrapped around their license. . One cop, in the happenstance that he stopped a visitor to town or someone unclear on the concept, would tell the driver, "I got three pencils for sale. One costs $5, another costs $10, and another costs $20. Wouldn't you like to purchase a $20 pencil today."
Same story with Hunter's artwork. You got a $50,000 painting, a $100,000 painting, and a $500,000 painting. Mr. Avenatti, I think you need a $500,00 painting.

I remember #8. They were actually pushing him as the Dem’s best chance to beat Trump. The extortion doesn’t bother me as much as the charge that he stole his disabled client’s settlement. Of course, it showed that the party was desperate to field any halfway decent candidate. They didn’t have even one so they stole the election.

I would have thought Avenatti would have been elected President by now by CNN and the Democrats.

Are they trying to force him into a corrupt deal to implicate Trump in something or other?

In reality, is what that weasel Avenatti did that much different from what Biden, and others, have done for decades? So why is Gramppy napping in the White House instead of a cell?

I guess a future Presidential run for this dirtbag is out of the question.
Then again, he's a Democrat, so maybe not. Look how well the Clinton and Biden shakedowns went for them.

Odd, I thought CNN told us he would be President of the United States by now and Donald Trump would be in prison. Wonder if they will issue a retraction?
