Republicans who voted for
impeachment face barrage of
pro-Trump primary challengers

Nine of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump over the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol are already facing primary challenges – and some of them may have a very hard time holding on to their seats. Trump vows to work against those Republicans as they run for reelection in 2022, and has already endorsed one primary challenger and signaled there are more to come. "Instead of attacking me and, more importantly, the voters of our movement, top establishment Republicans in Washington should be spending their energy in opposing Biden, Pelosi, Schumer and the Democrats," Trump said in his February CPAC speech.

The time to 'change horses' is exactly in the primaries. It will have to up to the local population to choose between pro or anti Trump.

Being opposed to Trump is one thing. But to trample the Constitution to try to “get” him is a whole other magnitude of action: one is principled opposition (which these fools never articulated) vs ultimate corruption. I hope each of you loses.

I worry that when there are a half dozen challengers, no one has enough support to oust the incumbent turncoat. Better that there be one main challenger.

Exactly #4. President Trump needs to give his endorsement to a specific candidate in each race. Hopefully the others will back out!

They knowingly gave legitimacy to the false claim that Donald Trump was responsible for the "attack on the Capitol." In reality, former Police Chief Steven Sund's request for National Guard reinforcements were denied six times by higher ups. Those Republican politicians all KNEW that. A reasonable person might wonder if providing too little protection despite the expected gathering, along with participation by professional troublemakers created exactly the desired outcome (excuse) for another gratuitous Trump impeachment. I'm with those willing to oppose those who helped smear Donald Trump at a time when he stood against the America Last crowd. We can do better.

In primarying Republican incumbents, PLEASE make sure the challengers are quality candidates. It’s not enough to say you’re pro-Trump if the Dems can dig up dirt on you or you have a tendency to let embarrassing stuff slip out of your mouth.

The larger the field, the greater the chance of the incumbent to survive the primary. I'd bet very few, if any, are put out by this barrage. In fact, incumbents may be financing some of their challengers.

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) says he won’t support a bipartisan infrastructure spending proposal unveiled last week because he believes it doesn’t do enough to address the needs of the country and shields the wealthy from tax increases. Sanders’s opposition means the proposal would need to garner at least 11 Republican votes in the 50-50 Senate if Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) puts it on the floor and the rest of the Democratic caucus votes for it. "I wouldn't vote for it," he told reporters Monday evening. "The bottom line is there are needs facing this country.

Media Alarmism Is the Real

It has now become all but impossible on any given day to find a major media news outlet that doesn’t feature at least one apocalyptic opinion piece warning us that democracy is under attack by the diabolical Republican Party and its sinister leader Donald Trump. This kind of nonsense was once limited to nutty internet forums and social media sites. Now it is a staple of “serious journalism” in publications like the New York Times and the leading broadcast networks. This hysteria is not only unfettered from any genuine threat posed by the GOP or anyone else but is itself eminently dangerous to our system of representative democracy.

The tidal wave of probability, circumstantial evidence of such mass and consistency that it is now almost irrefutable, that the novel coronavirus escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, will alter China’s relationship with the world and particularly with the United States.Accompanied as it is by the increasing volume of evidence that Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases — a post he has held for 37 years — and chief medical advisor to the president, went to unjustified lengths to deny that the coronavirus was anything but an unforeseeable escapee from a live food market, the unraveling story will ramify very widely.

For more than a year, it has been consecrated media fact that former President Donald Trump and his White House, on June 1 of last year, directed the U.S. Park Police to use tear gas against peaceful Lafayette Park protesters, all to enable a Trump photo-op in front of St. John's Church. That this happened was never presented as a possibility or likelihood but as indisputable truth. And it provoked weeks of unmitigated media outrage, presented as one of the most egregious assaults on the democratic order in decades. In the past several months, multiple state legislatures have made moves to ban critical race theory — the latest hot-button issue in contemporary American politics — from their public schools. Activists have opined that critical race theory is either the cure for racial injustice in America or the most dangerous force threatening our democracy. Plenty of writers have explained the main tenets of the theory, some in great detail. But where did it come from? How did an obscure academic theory come to dominate the national political conversation in only a few years? The answer to these questions lies in the origins of the theory. Critical race theory emerged

Maybe Bill Clinton was right about President Obama. After all, Arkansas Bubba was America’s “first black president.” Back in 2008 when Hillary Clinton was scheduled to be America’s Next President (The first time. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! After initial wariness about a half-African with a Muslim name, Black voters fell for Mr. Obama. Hard. Mr. Clinton’s bulbous nose turned bloody red with rage. The young upstart challenging his wife for the Democratic nomination, he insisted, was nothing more than just another Black race-hustler from Chicago.

President Joe Biden flies across the pond Wednesday to meet European leaders. He says the goal is to “deliver real results” on critical issues such as climate change and cybersecurity. Yet the president is ducking the most important issue: the cause of the pandemic. Biden should be marshaling allies to act in unison, squeezing China to get answers — and reparations. Because evidence is mounting that the Beijing regime is guilty of manslaughter. A column in The Wall Street Journal over the weekend persuasively argued that the coronavirus’ genetic sequence contains a sequence highly unlikely to come about naturally.
