The Confederate battle flag, which was crafted as a symbol of opposition to the abolishment of slavery, is just recently tired. We don’t see it much anymore. However, on the 6th, when the stormers rained on the nation’s most precious hut, waving Old Glory — the memo was received: the American flag is its replacement. President Biden, Madame Harris and members of Congress: the American flag has been hijacked as code for a specific belief. God bless those believers, they can have it. The Old Glory flag waved on Jan 6th? Yeh, by the FBI instigators. Try again buddy. You want divisive today? Black Lives Matter. The truth is that Laws Matter. Colors don't.

Oops. Old Glory referred to the U.S. Flag. I thought it referred to the confederate one. My bad. THAT flag, the Confederate Battle Flag, was waved by non-Trump instigators... or, as they're affectionately called, non-indicted co-conspirators. That flag IS divisive for many. And the BLM flag is divisive... for different reasons.

This is the same Macy Gray who sang the worst-ever rendition of the National Anthem at an NFL Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. And imagine my surprise when I couldn't find her disrespectful performance on YouTube. And now she's going to lecture me on patriotism?

Macy Gray is a one-hit (and not a very good one at that) wonder. I guess she wants to add a few seconds to her long-expired 15 minutes of fame -- so she is going to say something "shocking". As an American, Macy Gray is allowed to share her opinions, as stupid, illogical, and hateful as they are. And as Americans, we are allowed to ridicule her, pity her ignorance, and call her out for the America-hating hose-beast that she is. Honestly, I never get angry at stupid, hate-filled, racist lie-berals. I just pity them. It must be hell to live with yourself while you are that stupid and filled with evil!!!

I do have a problem when saying the Pledge of Allegiance, when it comes to the word Indivisible. The democrats have destroyed that, but otherwise it is my flag. I can't wait to be able to take a knee on Juneteenth when they sing the Black National Anthem. I don't know the words but I know white hate is in there somewhere.

When I was in school in the very old days, the teaching was "The south was wrong, but you are our brothers." First they took the confederate battle flag and called us southerners racist. Now it's the victorious north and everywhere else getting the same treatment. We are becoming South Africa without the majority black rule. And we southerners told you they wouldn't stop with southern symbols and tradition.

Anyone notice whenever there is a talk about inclusion, whites are deliberately left out all the time? This is just another message to foment anger, hatred, division, and violence. It has got to stop. I can just guess what they would replace it with. A rainbow background with a black fist along with a Communist/Socialist symbol. Probably needs a feminist symbol and a Muslim symbol too. First they banned the Confederate flag, and now the same jerks are going after the American flag. We know any 'new' United States envisioned by these people would exclude our history and everything we stood for and be replaced by a Socialist/Marxist/Communist dictatorship that would favor only small select groups of people. GTH.

The Confederate flag was NOT "crafted as a symbol of opposition to the abolishment of slavery". That is a TOTAL LIE. The Civil War was not specifically the abolition of slavery vs. the continuance of slavery. That view is very misleading and a way oversimplified rewrite of history. Obviously, she is ignorant about the meaning of the flag. While it did represent the side that still supported slavery, the war was not only about slavery. Most of those who supported the South had no direct vested interest in slavery. The war was mainly about economic survival, the states' freedom of self-governance, and the need to maintain the union. Splitting the country would have made it vulnerable to outside forces. Unfortunately, the economy of the South was still very dependent upon slavery at the time even though only a small percentage of the population actually owned slaves. Also, a lot of Northerners owned slaves, but the Northern economy was not as dependent upon it. Resistence to change is always strong even among those who support the proposed changes. Anyway, the millenia old practice of slavery is evil, which our Founders and Framers recognized. That is why they established our country on the principles that freedom and equality are God-given rights. Unfortunately, the F & Fs also knew it was not an easy task to gain enough support for independence if they tried to abolish slavery from the beginning. Too many people were content with remaining subjects of the crown and really had no desire to fight for independence. It's difficult to turn the minds and hearts of many people who either just don't care because they have more urgent concerns that more directly affect them, or of those whose entire livelihood depends on the status quo (in this case, cheap labor). Fortunately, the founding principles gave us the pathway to ending slavery and it took a strong leader and good people of faith to push the issue of abolition once and for all. It was much harder on the highly agriculturally-dependent South to change, however. The North had the advantage of having a more industrial economy. The South saw the threat coming but thought they could maintain their own way of life and make slower changes over time if they seceded from the union (which was their constitutional right). We all know the outcome. However, it is false to think that the Confederacy was all bad. It wasn't. Just as the Union was not all good either. There were good and bad on both sides. The abolition of slavery was good. Sadly, a lot of suffering took place for that to happen. At any rate, not all blacks were slaves. Even though the practice of slavery was abhorrent, its abolition had absolutely NOTHING to do with the founding of our nation, which July 4th DOES represent. That said, Juneteenth does NOT represent the whole country at all. At most, it only represents about 1/8th of it, and not even all people within that 1/8th even had family who were slaves.

Their execution casts a morbid shadow over Plath’s book, just as it did over the United States, and it is seen by many as the nadir of America’s engagement with the cold war.(Snip) During their trial, Ethel in particular was vilified for prioritising communism over her children, and the prosecution insisted

U.S. Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) has challenged the U.S. bishops to refuse him Holy Communion at Mass, flaunting his support for abortion and same-sex marriage. “Dear USCCB, I’m Catholic and I support contraception, a woman’s right to choose, treatments for infertility, the right for people to get a divorce, the right of same sex marriage,” Lieu tweeted Friday. “Next time I go to Church, I dare you to deny me Communion,” he taunted. The Jesuit-educated congressman, who attended Cleveland’s St. Ignatius High School and Georgetown University, enjoys a 100% legislator rating from lobbyist NARAL.

Darius Dotch chuckled in the midst of a Juneteenth performance last Saturday in St. Cloud. The onstage moment wasn't a mistake. He was re-enacting an 1865 letter from Jourdon Anderson, a Black man who escaped slavery in Tennessee, to his former master, who had wanted him to return to bondage. The actor and hip-hop artist lingered on a moment of droll poignancy.(Snip)Black people mark Juneteenth with recitations of historical texts, theater, poetry, dance, music and art. Some also commune through food and drink, parades and family games. The holiday is seen as one where Black people can be their authentic selves.

An ammunition shortage that began during the coronavirus pandemic and the heated 2020 election reportedly continues to plague manufacturers as Americans remain committed to stockpiling as many guns and as much ammo as possible.“It’s widely known the ammunition shortages continue. There is still a lot of interest in firearms,” Smith & Wesson CEO Mark Smith said this week to Fox Business Network. The data backs his statement. A survey conducted by the market research firm Southwick Associates in April found that, out of 1,800 ammo customers surveyed, 75 percent had already experienced out-of-stock issues this year, down by only 5 percent from the record high recorded in 2020.

When FBI agents asked for permission to rip hundreds of safe deposit boxes from the walls of a Beverly Hills business and haul them away, U.S. Magistrate Steve Kim set some strict limits on the raid. The business, U.S. Private Vaults, had been charged in a sealed indictment with conspiring to sell drugs and launder money. Its customers had not. So the FBI could seize the boxes themselves, Kim decided, but had to return what was inside to the owners.

Governor Abbott threatened to defund the Texas Legislature after Texas Democrats walked out of the legislative session rather than take a vote on election reform laws. When they broke quorum and shut down the session, Abbott said that if legislators weren’t going to do their jobs, they shouldn’t be paid. Friday Abbott made good on that threat. The elections bill was a top priority for the governor during this year’s session. Texas Democrats decided to cut and run, breaking quorum, instead of voting on Senate Bill 7. They knew that the Republicans had the votes to pass the legislation – both the Texas House and the Texas Senate hold Republican majorities.
