A 7-year-old girl was killed and her father was seriously wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon as they were getting food at a McDonald’s drive-thru in the Homan Square neighborhood. The father, Jontae Adams, 28, and his daughter, Jaslyn, were in a silver Infiniti about 4:20 p.m. at the McDonald’s, 3200 W. Roosevelt Road, when they were shot, Chicago police said.(Snip) Police said the shooting was believed to be gang-related, and less than three hours later, two people were shot in their car at a Popeyes in Humboldt Park, which investigators believe is connected to the McDonald’s shooting.

The Community howls in pain and demands reparations when a police officer is compelled to shoot one of their own while committing a crime, yet barely bats an eye when they kill one another with monotonous regularity.

Tough to extrapolate from this senseless tragedy some greater societal truth. Per the OP, even if one were inclined to support the BLM, “systemic racism,” thesis, where, in such a a tragic event, are the proofs of it? How is a plurality of, “white,” society called to account for this heartlessness and internecine carnage? Donne wrote, “...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind.” And seven-year-old girl? The poor, sweet innocent. ...and at seven, she could be nothing else, whatever her background. As a postscript, how does rioting and property damage after a law-enforcement death remediate this kind of suffering? Where is the value of a human life? Where is common sense, and a sense of proportion? This cannot be fixed by governance.

So when do the riots start over all that terrible white supremacy that is the true cause of all these black-on-black killings?!?!?!? You know, because all us white people are such racists that we won't pay them gazillions of dollars in reparations for slavery (that few of their ancestors had any part in), they are forced to live lives of crime. /sarcasm off You know there is some brain-dead lie-beral activist that is actually thinking that BS I said above is the truth!!!
