Kitchen tin foil, or aluminium foil, could help during these conditions, say experts. Scorching sunshine has been heating much of Britain this weekend, and the Met Office is now predicting temperatures could reach as high as 34C on bank holiday Monday. The sweltering conditions have already met heatwave criteria across numerous parts of the country, with the mercury steadily climbing throughout the week before reaching its peak on today and Tuesday, meteorologists say.

I believe white panels or sheets would be better, and outside the glass would be better still. Sure, silver is reflective, but have those who have picked up a chrome-plated wrench that has been lying in the sun -and gotten nearly burned- can tell you that white absorbs less heat from sunlight than silver.

Well, at last we all agree. 34° c is just a routine hot summer day in Western Canada. And in Texas, it's not even that. It was 46°C when I was here last time. I dealt with it the same way I dealt with the inverse of -46°C growing up: dress appropriately, remain in climate controlled conditions whenever possible, and be highly conscious of how much time is spent outside. In both extreme high and low temperatures, having a remote start setting is a great blessing. But of course, this is England. Air conditioning is far less common. Showers, cold or otherwise, are pitifully low pressure. Swimming pools are few and far between. And toilets don't flush worth a cr@p. A recipe for misery on a hot summer day. As always, the elderly and infirm are the ones who are truly at risk.

In an email sent to roughly 78,000 inboxes, the chief executive promised there would be no further company‑wide Meta layoffs this year and, in a rare admission, accepted that leadership had handled the run‑up badly.

Global inflation pressures are showing signs of easing as major central banks signal a shift toward interest rate cuts in the coming months. economists now say that after years of aggressive monetary tightening, the worst may finally be behind consumers and businesses alike. the federal reserve, the european central bank, and the bank of england have all hinted at a more accommodative stance heading into the second half of the year. analysts caution, however, that any cuts will be gradual and data-dependent, with policymakers keeping a close eye on labor markets and energy prices before making any firm commitments.

For years, Democrats and their allies in the media swore Joe Biden was sharp as a tack, fully capable, and absolutely fine. Then came the June 2024 debate, and that story collapsed in real time before millions of viewers. The fallout was so bad that Biden's own party forced him off the ticket. He dropped out, spent the rest of his term below the radar, and has spent his post-presidency trying to rehabilitate his image. Now, that effort has taken a new and telling turn. Biden filed a lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking to block the Justice Department from releasing roughly

For many years the Soviet Union, and then Russia, financed the environmental movement in the United States. Their purpose was to suppress American production of oil and gas, and they succeeded to a considerable degree, to their own great benefit. Today, we are in the midst of another kind of race with Communist China–the race to develop superior systems of artificial intelligence. The Chinese Communist Party knows that if it wins this race, it will contribute greatly to its dreams of world domination, while if it loses, China, with its rapidly shrinking population, could be on the way to the garbage dump of history. So the stakes are enormous.
