Kathy Hochul Caves to Mamdani, Will Bail

Not long ago, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul told New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to handle his own mess. Now she's writing him a $4 billion check to bail him out. Mamdani had barely settled into Gracie Mansion before he discovered what socialists always find out: Eventually, you run out of other people's money. His grand campaign promises — you know: free this, universal that — ran headlong into the reality that New York City couldn’t afford all the things Mamdani had campaigned on. So, Mamdani went looking to Albany for a bailout. And, originally, Hochul said no. "The mayor and City Council need to work together, identify savings,

Hochul got the $4 billion from Republicans, who demanded that the SALT tax cap be raised to $40k, so American taxpayers would have to fund NY socialism.

Just yesterday he was bragging he had balanced the budget, erasing an "Inherited" $12Billon deficit, without cutting any services. A "Budget" is not balanced when "Mommy" sneaks $4Billion out of "Daddy's" account into yours...your checks may not bounce "This month" but....next month you are still in the hole due to overspending.

FTA: "My best guess? Mamdani promised to support her reelection campaign and hit the trail with her. A $4 billion commitment is an awfully expensive favor to do for free, and you better believe Hochul is getting something for it." How welcome will Kathy be as she campaigns throughout the state with ZBoy in tow? She might discover that the youngster is not the asset she believes him go be but a huge liability. Live and learn, peaches. NY Staters won't be feeling the love knowing that their hard earned money is going to prop up this Islamist mayor.

And a footnote for #6. Florida has a population of 23 million and NYC a population of 8 million. So, each NYC resident sucks up three times as much money as each Florida resident. And Florida is a nice place while NYC is a crime ridden cesspool.

I'mm sure that the people of Niverville, Rome, Buffalo, Jamestown, Newburgh, and all of the other towns and cities in NY will be more than happpy to pay for/subsidize NYC's bloated budget while trying to figure out how to pay their own expenses. For a city that claims to be the financial capital of the world and feels that they are superior and smarter in every way to everyone, they are sure financially illiterate and clueless to how to live within their means. Of course, that is true of most liberal Democrats/Socialists.

New York State will follow New York City down the drain. There's no hope for these economic illiterates. Just get out of that state while you can. Empire Staters haven't even begun to suffer yet. Hochul's floating eyebrows will soon join Alice Kramden on the lunar surface. These Democrats who want to take everything you have aren't qualified to run a convenience store, let alone a city or a state or a country. The redistricting battle being fought across the nation has caused a sea change, and now, it's having a notable effect in Tennessee. We saw Democratic lawmakers melting down a week ago over the changes, with state Rep. Justin Pearson (D-Memphis) getting into a disturbing exchange with a state trooper. The redistricting redrew a black majority district, the 9th district, which is currently represented by Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen (TN-09). Cohen is not black. He's held the seat for 19 years, since 2007. He's had black Republicans run against him. (X) Now it looks like Cohen is giving up the ghost. He announced that he wouldn't be running again. Cohen said

Desperate to deflect attention from Minnesota’s fraud scandals, the state’s Democrats have seized on gun control as a political lifeline, much as they did with abortion in 2022. Despite having passed an anti-gun package when they had complete control over state government in 2023, the Democrats have come up with a new bill that, among other things, would ban sales of “assault weapons,” i.e., semiautomatic rifles (and some pistols) with a modern, modular design typified by a black plastic stock rather than a brown wooden stock. Existing owners of “assault weapons,” like me, would have to register their firearms with the state. Governor Walz mused about calling a special session

Senate Democrats spent Wednesday on the Senate floor demanding votes they knew they would lose, on rules that in some cases courts had already thrown out, in defense of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), an agency that by the government's own math has cost Americans hundreds of billions of dollars. Republicans obliged them and won every single one. Democrats used a procedural tool called the Congressional Review Act to force more than a dozen resolutions targeting Trump's rollback of the CFPB, covering everything from overdraft fees and medical debt to military lending protections. The real goal wasn't legislation —

Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) missed the last 43 House votes and hasn't been seen for a month — that's maybe not the most disturbing part of the story. When a federal judge shot down a Trump administration policy of holding immigrants without bond last December, it seemed like a serious blow to the US president’s mass deportation effort,” The Guardian told us about a week ago. “Instead, a top justice department official insisted the ruling wasn’t binding, and the administration continued denying detainees around the country a chance for release.” That case, The Guardian claims, illustrates a “broader pattern by the US government’s executive branch,” which is now openly defying orders from the lower courts. Babies are proverbially easy to steal from, and California is going to swipe the very diapers off their bottoms. Of course, California Gov. Gavin Newsom has promised the opposite, announcing a program to provide “free” diapers to newborns. This is meant to appear as a generous and pro-baby plan, and Newsom was even applauded by some pro-life and pro-family writers and activists. But this is California, notorious for fraud and boondoggles ranging from fake hospices to the high-speed rail train to nowhere. So, in evaluating this program, it is pointless to try to parse the projected cost-per-diaper because California cannot accurately estimate such costs.
