The Republican leader of South Carolina’s state Senate defied President Donald Trump and voted against a redistricting effort that could have slashed the state’s only Democrat-led congressional district, arguing that “South Carolina is stronger when we have a vibrant Democratic Party.” Contrary to Trump’s wishes, Massey joined four other Republicans in voting against the proposal that would have allowed for the Senate to reconvene later this month for a redistricting effort.
The legislature has until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, to approve House-passed changes to the sine die resolution, which would state what the lawmakers can take up after that date.

That's why the Republican Party is still the stupid party. They like to lose.

No, RINO, your state is not stronger due to 'competition'. It's weaker due to racial discrimination. Quota districts are pure and evil racial discrimination. This SHPOS should be voted out of office the very next chance voters have.

Democrats wouldn’t think twice about wiping the GOP off the state map. If you want to kill a cancer, you’ve got to remove it ALL.

That photo. He's a smug looking bought off bozo.
Here's a ridiculous quote from this clown: “Our state is stronger with vibrant parties,” the senate leader stated. “I think we, as a whole, are stronger when we have a clash of ideas. I think that’s true at the national level, I think it’s true at the state level.”
Yeah, South Carolina and the whole country are stronger by keeping the lying, cheating, stealing, race-baiting Clyburn in Congress.
Way to go yo-yo. Hopefully your treachery gets you a ticket home for good! Oh and btw SC voters, take out the trash whenever you get the next opportunity.

State Sen. Shane Massey just proved he is actually a democrat. He's shown SC that he's a RINO. Vote him out next election S. Carolina.

Re: #1 - Just curious about where you categorize Republican President Trump. He has never appeared to favor losing, whether in business or politics, so do you classify him as stupid, a Republican of Convenience (RoC), a pragmatic NYC businessman, seeking advantage from whomever is in power, or the ideological/political head of the GOP? Trump was a registered democrat and major DNC donor, from August 2001 to September 2009, switching to Republican after Obama took office as president; however, he switched again to democrat in 2011 and back to the GOP again in 2012, likely permanently, as democrats who once toasted him now prefer him dead or in prison. “In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat,” Trump told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in a March 2004 interview. “It just seems that the economy does better under the democrats than the Republicans."

What's the difference between giving the Dems a seat in Government and giving the seat to the Mafia?

Another "Maverick".
He will attend state cocktail parties and claim the moral high ground until the Dems get into power and wipe all the Republican districts out.
You never saw Eisenhower embrace Nazis because they made the US stronger.

Just another ignorant Rino on the democratic payroll. Competition, B.S., if Clyburn was in his position he would bury him in a heart beat. Look at what Virginia just tried to pull, look at how many states up around Maine, Mass. and Conn. don't have a single republican representative. It's absolutely sickening how these Rino's their own people in the back. Pathetic.

I always wonder what the #7s are trying to achueve. Dredging up old "history" wirhout source links. What's the point?
Reagan was a lifelong self-admitted Liberal Democrat ntil at age 51 _"the party left me". The party left my parents in the 1940s and they beame Conservative Republicans.
Many moderate Dems will be jumping ship as the wokesters take over the party.
