WASHINGTON — The Congressional Black Caucus, a power center in the Democratic Party for decades, saw its membership rise this Congress to an all-time high of 58 House members. Now, thanks to a Supreme Court redistricting ruling that’s expected to dramatically diminish Black representation on Capitol Hill, the CBC is fighting a five-alarm fire that could devastate its membership. CBC Chair Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., said as many as 19 of the caucus’ members could be affected by the redistricting wars in a worst-case scenario, though she noted it’s still fluid given that states are still drawing new maps in the

Comments:

Many of them have been clinging to power for decades only because they have gerrymandered districts of their own.

I frankly am hoping for a larger number. There are 57 Democrats in the House Black Caucus. It can be argued that 50 of those districts have been set up in violation of the Voting Rights Act. The courts must decide.

Here's the real reason the left is upset. There are 148 majority minority districts in the US. The vast majority of them purposely gerrymandered by race. 122 of those districts are held by the Dems, many considered ironclad safe seats. That is over half of the seats required for a house majority. The Dem party understands this threat. Many of these districts are in deep blue cities so won't change much. But many are in purple states and we're specifically designed to not only ensure dem dominance but also to dilute republican influence by breaking up conservative block by splitting them into much larger dem controlled districts. This is a devastating blow, actually an existential threat, to the lefts carefully crafted generations long effort to disenfranchise any opposition. And they know it.

The 'Rats use race as camouflage. The CBC is fundamentally a LEFTIST caucus. Why do I say this? Because not too long ago, a black person who happened to be a conservative applied to join the CBC, and the CBC refused to let them join! All these 'special' groups of disgruntled and unhappy extremist people.... whether they are blacks, 'native American', sexual deviants of too many varieties to mention- the underlying force driving them are Leftist 'Rats. But this is California, notorious for fraud and boondoggles ranging from fake hospices to the high-speed rail train to nowhere. So, in evaluating this program, it is pointless to try to parse the projected cost-per-diaper because California cannot accurately estimate such costs.
