The first sign of just how revolutionary President Trump’s second term would be actually came two years before his re-election. On June 6, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, delivering pro-life conservatives a victory decades in the making—but which, in the end, was only made possible by Donald Trump. Before Trump’s first term, Republican presidents had displayed a remarkable knack for preserving a pro-Roe majority on the Court: George H.W. Bush more than offset the conservative jurisprudence of Clarence Thomas by appointing Anthony Kennedy and David Souter. And while both of George W. Bush’s appointees voted to reverse Roe, the younger Bush had tried hard

Anthony Kennedy was appointed to the court by Reagan in 1988, Dan appears from his picture to be old enough to know that. Bork was Reagan's first choice. Kennedy was his third. John Sununu pushed Souter as a conservative. Reagan was not fully briefed on O'Connor. Supreme court nominations are always a gamble. Trump did his best to get constitutional conservatives on the court. I always thought Kavanaugh would be a problem based on his resume. Barrett may turn out to be a weasel like Roberts. Gorsuch has, so far, been more of a constitutional conservative. Time will tell.

Great article. Trump is getting things done that enhance freedom and success for Americans. He is doing it by attacking and ripping apart the progressive framework that is anti American and anti Constitutional and has been put in place through a soft bureaucratic coup and mental conditioning over decades of effort. So many people think Trump is stepping outside legal lines because the country has been dragged outside of those lines for so long. The reality is, Trump sticks very tightly to legal boundaries. The problem is, WE don't recognize them because they haven't been used or enforced for so long. An example is federal spending. There is NO practical reason that federal spending is so poorly tracked and unaccountable. DOGE has highlighted that. The reason it is so badly run is to allow spending to be done that cannot be tracked and so that there cannot be accountability for illegal spending. The LAW says that spending must be controlled by laws that are passed by Congress. No legal allocation, no spending. However, enforcement is impossible if you cannot track the spending. Trump is creating an accountable tracking system and enforcing the law. People are screaming about the outcome of following the law like some group is entitled to receive funding even if there is no law that calls for it. All in all, Trump is probably one of the most diligent Presidents in following the law. The Left calls him a law breaker but what they are really railing about is the FAITHFUL application of law as written and passed by Congress. They don't like THAT law and have been dancing around it for decades.

Secure borders and stationary populations were considered the mark of emerging civilization by classical historians. In contrast to nomadism and constant strife over disputed territory, peoples who had clearly defined and protected borders ascended to statehood, maintained a distinct culture, and achieved greater prosperity and security. In contrast, what we suffered from 2021 to 2025 was unprecedented. It was an intentional administration effort to de-civilize the nation by destroying its borders—as if to return to the premodern era, when there were no clearly defined or secure borders, and nomadic peoples migrated as they pleased.

Republican Senator Thom Tillis has declared he will block President Trump’s choice for the crucial position of US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ed Martin. His no vote will sink the nomination and if Martin isn’t confirmed in time, his replacement reportedly could be chosen by Trump-hating US District judge James Boasberg. Tillis doesn’t even have a plausible reason, telling reporters that his difference with Tillis is over the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Martin believes that some J6ers were unfairly over prosecuted and Tillis believes they all should have been jailed “for absolutely destroying the Capitol” — which never happened.

When the pilgrims settled in what would later become Massachusetts, they were seeking religious liberty after years of persecution in Europe. The pilgrims were the first of many such people seeking to make a new life lived in liberty for their families in the New World. Remembering such religious persecution, the founding generation adopted the First Amendment to prevent the federal government (and later state and local governments through the Fourteenth Amendment) from “prohibiting the free exercise” of religion. That protection for religious Americans should not act merely as a small carveout from government abuse.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s speech in New Hampshire last week was greeted by the media as yet another stirring call to arms for the rudderless Democratic Party. “Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption – but I am now,” Pritzker thundered. “These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and then punish them at the ballot box.” Republicans protested that the governor came close to inciting political violence – and they have a point

The Department of Government Efficiency noticed a snag: the sign-in button on the IRS homepage wasn’t where it ought to be. Instead of the upper right-hand corner where we, the people, have been trained to look for logins, it was stacked with other buttons in the middle of the page. It was not too hard to find, but its unusual placement disrupted the interface between taxpayers and tax collectors. It was a simple fix. Yet an IRS engineer reportedly estimated that it would take at least 103 days to move the button. Thankfully, Elon Musk’s team posted last month on X, “This engineer worked with the DOGE team

The State Department has pulled the plug on its domestic censorship machine. Secretary of State Marco Rubio last week handed pink slips to the 50 full-time staff who were part of a shady subagency known as the Global Engagement Center. It’s a welcome move. “Over the last decade, Americans have been slandered, fired, charged, and even jailed for simply voicing their opinions. That ends today,” Mr. Rubio announced last week. Like every other government program, the center started with a reasonable mission: combating the messaging of radical Islamic terrorists overseas to prevent them from radicalizing youths. After a few years, the center’s capabilities were hijacked by activists who turned the focus inward

The Biden administration claimed to have added almost 400,000 jobs from July through September of last year, but new data released this week suggest none of those jobs ever existed. Despite constantly gaslighting by the mainstream media, Americans knew the economy was in poor shape and these latest numbers prove it. Month after month, the government bean-counters under former-president Biden published overly optimistic estimates for everything from job growth to the size of the economy, only to have those numbers routinely—and quietly—revised down later. Just yesterday, I wrote about Britain’s decline as its embrace of unlimited immigration from Third World (mostly Muslim) countries and its commitment to the insane Net Zero carbon dioxide metric are leading it toward a Muslim-controlled polity and a pre-modern energy infrastructure. Today, I awoke to two more reports about Britain’s decline, this time related to speech and self-defense. These reports matter because the leftist British approach to governance is what the Democrat party desperately wants to see in America. The first story comes from The Telegraph, Britain’s (slightly) right-of-center outlet, and its title says it all:
