The Supreme Court temporarily halted the Trump administration's use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport members of the Tren de Aragua Venezuelan street gang early Saturday. A terse order issued on a 7-2 vote with Justices Thomas and Alito dissenting, the Court ordered the administration "not to remove any member of the putative class of detainees from the United States until further order of the Court."This caps off a furious day of legally maneuvering and borderline legal malpractice as the ACLU was laughed out of court in the Northern District of Texas, appealed to the Fifth Circuit and lost there, and then schlepped to the court of Resistance hero

I know its contrary to the president's personality, but I think I would have walked away in the first term. This system is riding Hell bent for leather to destroy itself, and all levels of government seem to be in on it. I'm really starting to think it isn't worth saving.

Very close to the moment when President Trump must declare the communist death democrat, anti constitution Supreme Court’s rulings invalid and simply resume the deportations of these illegal invaders of our country. The security and well being of our country and citizens must come first.

Isn't there a federal law already on the books about entering the country illegally? Why does Trump need to use the Alien Enemies Act to remove illegals?

This has everything to do with ‘hating Trump’. It’s all about obstruction. Do any and everything to get in the way of people due to blind hatred. TdA, MS-13, they have no use for these people other than as pawns. Too bad these demented children are actually adults with power.

#3: I'm not an attorney, but I think the body of law outside the Alien Enemies Act allows for exactly the kinds of judicial chicanery we're seeing right now.... whereas in past use of the Alien Enemies Act in the past (that old term *precedent*) the judiciary expressly understood it had essentially *no* review authority and stayed out of the way of the Executive Branch. The law was last used after WWII to deport German nationals back to Europe.
Another historical precedent: In 1958 President Eisenhower deported 4 million illegal aliens (mostly Mexicans), and the judiciary said absolutely nothing at the time. Far as I'm concerned, the judiciary should either butt out of this matter completely (CJ Roberts could do this, but he's spineless) or else Congress will have to step in and relieve the lower courts of the incremental judicial review power they are asserting.

The Supremes are between a rock and a hard place. On one side what is perceived as wholesale railroading of individuals is not viewed the same way in 2025 as it would have been in 1958. The judiciary is primarily viewed and respected as the place where the little guy can get protection against big government. Even a perception otherwise can be damaging. On the other hand if it in effect allows illegals to avoid deportation indefinitely and they continue to consume public funds and commit violent crimes, the SCOTUS will lose whatever moral standing they have left. This ruling is buying time before they can come up with a workable solution. All is not lost, I think.

Can't say I'm surprised. This is about people and which ones have the power, control, and wealth in this country. Doubting most of us really have a say in this. I would rather be governed than ruled by people that are honest, competent, and fair. Beginning to wonder if that is delusional.

The judges are instigating a civil war. The question is: which side the military will be on?

Trump should be granted a special one time 4 year extension of his term of office for the theft of the 2020 election, and the unconstitutional blocking of his power to get things done in his current term of office. Does a president really have a term of office, if the entirety of that term is spent in court?

Yesterday I sat next to several attorneys in a restaurant who were loudly discussing their plans to attend a local 50501 rally. They claimed Trump is following Project 2025's radical agenda and he will find a reason to declare martial law on Sunday by invoking the Insurrection Act. I think #4 is correct; this is all about blind hatred. Their frenzy was based upon rage, not reason or logic. The Easter 50501 rallies will incite rebellion, that's for sure. What happens after that is anyone's guess. I fear for my country.

The protection of the citizens of the United States is the most important and unchallengeable priority of the President. There is NO branch of government or authority that can override that priority. The President MUST act unilaterally if necessary to preserve that ultimate priority.
We the People will back him on that if the other branches of government have become our enemies...which they have.

Trump should QUIETLY pick up ANY ILLEGAL and throw them on a plane to GAZA. Leave them there. No one will even know they are gone. Stop announcing your plan. Just remove them in the clothes they have on.

This Court did nothing to defend the civil rights of AMERICAN CITIZENS unjustly imprisoned for merely being in DC on January 6, 2021.
US CITIZENS have no standing in US Courts but illegals do?

CJ Roberts is compromised. People can make excuses for these idiotic rulings all the way up the chain of courts, but the bottom line is Roberts is being blackmailed, or is voluntarily hindering President Trump so as information about his crookedness is not revealed. None of this should be as contested as it is so go with the first inclination. There's something rotten in Denmark comes to mind.
