The Trump administration was accused of breaking the law in a recent lawsuit after taking down a website meant to show the public how federal funding is disbursed to agencies. A new lawsuit filed in federal court in D.C. accused the Trump administration of violating federal law last month when the online database overseen by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) “went dark, without explanation.” “Congress mandated prompt transparency for apportionments to prevent abuses of power and strengthen Congress’s and the public’s oversight of the spending process,” the complaint reads. “Absent this transparency, the president and OMB may abuse their authority over the apportionment

Someone needs to put a stop to all these frivolous lawsuits against Trump and his admin. It’s utterly out of hand.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Monday that it will save American taxpayers over $60 million by ending a grant to help fund a high-speed rail project in Texas. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy made the announcement, saying an agreement between the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Amtrak to terminate the $63.9 million grant had been reached. The grant was awarded to Amtrak under the Corridor Identification and Development Program for the Amtrak Texas High-Speed Rail Corridor, previously known as the Texas Central Railway project. "I am pleased to announce that FRA and Amtrak are in agreement that underwriting this project is a waste of taxpayer funds

U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, has introduced legislation he says will save lives and protect communities from gun violence while protecting Americans’ constitutional right to own a firearm. Gun rights groups said the legislative proposal is clearly unconstitutional. The GOSAFE Act would regulate the sale, transfer and manufacture of gas-operated semi-automatic firearms by establishing a list of prohibited firearms and prevent the unlawful modification of permissible firearms. Moreover, Kelly wants to mandate that future gas-operated designs are approved before they are manufactured. Unlawful firearm self-assembly and manufacturing would be prevented under his bill. Machine gun conversion devices would be prohibited.

This tax day, one group is pushing for better financial literacy for kids. The American Parents Coalition is advocating for financial literacy education for kids, arguing that studies show students who go through these classes are less likely to fall into financial trouble. In a message to parents called “The Lookout,” the group points to a survey showing the majority of teenagers feel unprepared and want more financial training. “In fact, three out of four teenagers admit they don’t understand basic financial concepts,” the group said in its message, first obtained by The Center Square, and sent to parents Tuesday. “Half can’t explain

Easter, the holiest day on the Christian calendar, should have its own federal holiday, according to a Republican senator. Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., wrote in an X thread Monday that he introduced legislation to create a federal holiday for Easter. It would fall on the Monday after Easter Sunday. Schmitt wrote that while “81%” of Americans celebrate Easter, “our current holiday schedule makes it way too difficult for families to celebrate together.” Easter falls on the longest unbroken schedule of workdays, Schmitt wrote, with March and April being the only back-to-back months without a holiday.

That Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will be the first European Union leader to meet with President Donald Trump since his day of tariffs is no surprise – she's backed him long before her ascension in 2022 to her country’s highest political office. Meloni, who will arrive in Washington on Thursday, was among the first global leaders to congratulate Trump on his 2024 reelection victory and was the first European leader to meet with him after Election Day – traveling to Mar-a-Lago in January. She was also the only European Union leader to attend Trump’s inauguration. But this week's scheduled visit is expected to be different.

Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett said Monday evening on a Zoom conference that Democrats don’t “have time” to convince voters of their “position” with upcoming elections but should focus on their friends and families. Democrats have been attempting to find a unifying message to resonate with their base ahead of the midterm elections, as some have criticized progressive policies. Others have blamed the party’s branding and messaging for their 2024 loss. While joining historian Heather Cox Richardson and Katie Paris, founder and CEO of Red Wine & Blue, a nonprofit organization, Crockett spoke about her experience in office and offered advice to women wanting to speak out against the Trump administration.

American taxpayers will no longer be forced to finance brutal animal experiments in Chinese labs if Sen. Joni Ernst (R., Iowa) gets her way. Ernst on Tuesday introduced the Accountability in Foreign Animal Research Act, which would bar the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health from using taxpayer funds to finance animal research in labs controlled by the governments of China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia. The bill comes as a growing number of intelligence agencies and scientific experts say the department’s funding of risky gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology likely played

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has officially kicked off its search for two of the agency’s most critical leadership positions: the undersecretary for health and the undersecretary for benefits. Announced Monday, the move comes at a pivotal moment as the VA navigates through sweeping reforms aimed at reshaping the delivery of health care and benefits for millions of veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors. Unlike most senior federal positions that can be directly appointed by the president, these two roles require candidates to be vetted and recommended by specially appointed commissions. These panels are composed of community advocates, industry professionals, and former VA officials, ensuring a broad and

Bessent, speaking with Bloomberg TV during a visit to Argentina, said that would give the Trump administration about six months lead time before Powell leaves office. He gave no further details. President Trump has pressed the Fed repeatedly to lower interest rates, posting on Truth Social on April 4: “CUT INTEREST RATES, JEROME, AND STOP PLAYING POLITICS!”

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) signed the Democrats’ semiautomatic firearm ban into law last week and it means state residents wanting an AR-15 will have to first secure an “eligibility card” from their local sheriff. Breitbart News tracked the semiautomatic firearm ban as it made its way through the Colorado legislature, warning that it would ban wildly popular AR and AK-rifles and their variants, as well as numerous shotguns and some pistols. Gov. Polis signed the legislation on April 10, 2025, and the ban will take effect in August 2026. After that time, anyone who wants an AR-15 or similar rifle–or one of the banned

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is now cooling his heels in the most famous El Salvadoran prison in the world. He’s gotten more love from America's left than, say, the 14-year-old girl MS-13 hacked up with machetes in 2019 in Maryland. It’s strange, isn’t it? Ariana Funes-Diaz was hacked with a machete and hit with a baseball bat, and her lifeless and bloodied body was left in a ditch, but nobody seems to remember or care.

Washington— Former President Joe Biden returns to the national stage Tuesday to elevate liberal concerns that President Donald Trump’s agenda is threatening the health of Social Security. The 82-year-old Democrat has largely avoided speaking publicly since leaving the White House in January.
