Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) filed a lawsuit seeking $2.5 million in damages after a U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) officer entered his office, prompting claims from the GOP congressman that he is “worried and anxious” about his interactions with the agency. The suit stems from a 2021 incident in which an officer entered Nehls’s office over the Thanksgiving break, relaying that he found the door to the office wide open. Upon seeing a white board with “suspicious writings mentioning body armor with an outline of the Rayburn Building next to the Longworth building with an ‘x’”’ marked” on the map, the officer forwarded the information to supervisors.

Mahmoud Khalil can be deported over his involvement in anti-Israel demonstrations at Columbia University, an immigration judge ruled Friday in the closely watched case. The ruling in Louisiana federal court came in the government’s bid to boot the Syrian-born permanent resident out of the US over his anti-Israel activism at Columbia. But Khalil won’t be deported immediately — his lawyers will get the chance to fight the proceedings before a final determination is made. Khalil, 30, was arrested on March 8 by ICE agents inside the building of his university-funded Manhattan apartment where he lived with his pregnant wife, an American citizen.

Iowa Republican Governor Kim Reynolds announced Friday that she would not seek another term in office, saying she would be leaving politics to prioritize her family. Reynolds has led Iowa since 2017, after then-Governor Terry Branstad was appointed by President Donald Trump as ambassador to China. During her tenure, Republicans passed the largest income tax cut in state history, election integrity measures, and legislation on abortion and transgenderism as they controlled both the state House and Senate. “Serving as your governor has been the greatest honor of my life, an opportunity that not so long ago I never could have imagined,” Reynolds said

In the wake of the horrific California wildfires in January, impacted homeowners not only lost their property, but either had their insurance policies canceled outright, were hit with massive increases in their insurance premiums, or pushed onto the FAIR Plan, the state insurance exchange which forced homeowners to accept less coverage than their homes required. While all this was going down, Insurance Commissioner Richard Lara was too busy traveling around the world on the taxpayer dime to care. According to an investigation by ABC7's "7 On Your Side," they obtained and combed through hundreds of public records, uncovering details of at least 46 cross-country and international trips. Lara traveled

As President Donald Trump rolls out the agenda he campaigned on, like mass deportations and tariffs, the left loves to think they are playing gotcha with Trump voters when they snarkily ask, "Is this what you voted for?" Well...yes. This is exactly what we voted for, and we hope he keeps going. Thanks for asking. This usually causes more smoke to erupt from lefty ears, but Americans absolutely voted for Donald Trump to clean up the mess left by Joe Biden. As agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and ICE carry out the deportations of criminals and gang members, there is also a new way to get

Protests against President Donald Trump’s administration have been cropping up nationwide. They appear to have two things in common — gray hair and a lack of energy. Are Americans supposed to believe these are organic? Or are they organized by left-wing groups to undermine Trump’s administration? Now the answers to those questions are becoming clear. The “Hands Off” protests of April 5 and earlier anti-Tesla protests were supported by a coalition of powerful leftist groups, including The Indivisible Project, and organized through Mobilize America — which was initially founded as a Democrat PAC. Now leftist organizers are planning more demonstrations across America for the socialist holiday May Day.

Massachusetts state Rep. Christopher Flanagan, 37, was indicted on five counts of wire fraud and one count of falsification of records on Friday, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). Flanagan served as the executive officer of the Home Builders Association in Cape Cod and received a salary and benefits ranging from $65,800 to $81,600 from 2019 to 2024 when he was working there. Flanagan also received $97,546 and $100,945 in 2023 and 2024, respectively, from his position as a legislator.

The Chinese Communist Party is attacking Americans with AI-generated videos depicting them as overweight slobs working in sweatshops in the wake of President Donald Trump introducing tariffs on China. In a desperate attempt to attack the United States, China appeared to inadvertently admit it forces its own people to slave away in sweatshops — where workers make low wages for long hours under poor conditions — by sharing AI-generated videos depicting Americans working in those conditions, instead. The videos show AI-generated Americans — who the Chinese fantasize about being all overweight — making products like Nike shoes while they drink soda and eat potato chips.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) on Thursday unveiled that it would use social platform X to make announcements going forward, instead of traditional press releases or memos typically posted to the website. “The agency will be using X to communicate to the press and the public — formerly known as Twitter,” Linda Kerr-Davis, SSA Midwest-West (MWW) Regional Commissioner told employees in a call Thursday, according to Federal News Network (FNN). “This will become our communication mechanism,” she told reporters. The shift comes as communications staff at the agency has dwindled due to reassignments in front-facing roles at field offices across the country. Officials announced that Regional SSA offices would

A federal judge on Friday sided with the Trump administration in allowing immigration agents to conduct enforcement operations at houses of worship despite a lawsuit filed by religious groups over the new policy. U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich in Washington refused to grant a preliminary injunction to the plaintiffs, more than two dozen Christian and Jewish groups representing millions of Americans. She found that only a handful of immigration enforcement actions have been conducted in or around churches or other houses of worship and that the evidence doesn’t show “that places of worship are being singled out as special targets.” The groups argued the policy violated the right to practice their religion.

Musk’s critics want him gone tomorrow and are thrilled that, as a Special Government Employee, his tenure is legally capped at 130 days in a 365-day period. But President Trump has several options if he wants to keep Musk on past the expiration date. Elon Musk’s role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is formally designated as that of a Special Government Employee (SGE), a status that limits his service to 130 days within any 365-day period. His tenure is expected to end around late May 2025, when that cap is reached. While the White House has expressed interest in keeping Musk involved, any extension would require either legal

The latest: Government watchdog OpenTheBooks found that the feds spent an eye-popping $4.6 billion on new furniture and decorations for government buildings since October 2020, even though only half the federal workforce was consistently showing up for work in person as of last year. In 2023, the Government Accountability Office found that 17 of 24 federal agencies used 25% or less of their headquarters’ buildings.

Tehran has played this game before: Agree to talks. Make vague promises. Extract sanctions relief. Then quietly continue nuclear development under the radar. This formula has worked for more than two decades. Right now, the only reason Iran is talking is to stall, to promise just enough to prevent America from striking it -- "We are almost there!" -- to keep its regime and avoid seeing its uranium centrifuges and enrichment sites blasted to rubble. The regime does not want war -- but it also cannot accept total nuclear disarmament.

Americans have become increasingly wary of the “net zero” and other modern-day green movements after so many of their doom-filled prophecies of imminent environmental disaster failed to come true.

CNN data analyst Harry Enten did a report this week in which he was stunned to reveal that the Republican party is replacing the Democrats as the party of the working class and the party that cares more about average Americans. This shift has been building for years but became especially apparent during the 2024 election, as Donald Trump made huge gains among average Americans of every color and ethnicity. The Democrats have made their problem worse by defending the radicals that Trump is trying to deport. Democrats have also become fierce defenders of Wall Street in recent weeks as the debate about tariffs has unfolded.

If you grow up in a military family, like I did, you don't just learn the rank structure or how to fold a flag. You grow up with an inherent respect for duty, service, and the rules that govern both. One of the biggest rules? Keep your politics to yourself when you're in uniform. So when the story broke this week about the 821st Space Base Group commander at Pituffik Space Base in Greenland being relieved of duty after a snarky, partisan email targeting U.S. Vice President JD Vance, I wasn’t surprised. I was disgusted. Colonel Susan Meyers, in a wildly inappropriate and insubordinate move, decided to flex her self-righteousness

1. President Donald Trump's so-called "trade war." Many call the American effort to obtain either tariff parity or a reduction in the roughly $1 trillion trade deficit and 50 years of consecutive trade deficits a "trade war." But then what do they call the policies of the past half-century by Europe, Asia, China, and others to ensure asymmetrical tariffs, pseudo-health and security trade restrictions, and large surpluses? A trade peace? Trade fairness? 2. Do nations prefer surpluses or deficits? Why do most nations prefer trade surpluses and protective tariffs? Are Europe, Asia, China, and others stupid? Are they suicidal in continuing their trade surpluses and protective or asymmetrical tariffs?
