President Donald Trump on Monday said that “virtually every country wants to negotiate” as his sweeping worldwide reciprocal tariffs are set to take effect Wednesday.
While talking with reporters alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump detailed the dynamic that has unfolded since last Wednesday, or as he calls it “Liberation Day,” when he announced the tariff overhaul.
(X Video) “I will say this, virtually every country wants to negotiate. If I didn’t do what I did over the last couple of weeks, you wouldn’t have anybody who wants to negotiate,” he said.
“We would have gone to these countries, ‘You want to talk?’

Last week, the House was brought to a standstill over a discharge petition on proxy voting, though President Donald Trump weighed in on the matter just days later, prompting Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to figure out a plan. Although Trump said he was in favor of proxy voting for new parents, he also indicated it was up to the speaker. On Friday morning, in a post that began by thanking Trump for his "leadership," also acknowledging how the president relegated the decision-making to him, Johnson warned about how "Democrats tried proxy voting before and it was terribly abused,"

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was photographed flying first-class to a Bernie Sanders event last month — with critics saying it shows how she battles inequality one “mimosa at a time.”
An incredulous passenger snapped AOC getting comfy in the roomy first-class cabin of JetBlue Flt. 511 on March 19 that departed from JFK Airport in Queens for Las Vegas, where she spoke at a Sanders rally titled “Fighting Oligarchy.” (Photo) The next day, the equality-spouting darling of the far left headlined “Fighting Oligarchy” rallied along with her socialist comrade, Sen. Sanders of Vermont, in North Vegas and at Arizona State University in Tempe.

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts paused a federal judge’s order that required the Trump administration to return an illegal alien who was deported to El Salvador.
In a court filing, Roberts wrote that an order from U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis, that Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, an illegal migrant from El Salvador, be returned to the United States “no later than 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025,” was “hereby stayed pending” a further order from Roberts or from the Supreme Court.

The Trump administration will be allowed to resume deporting suspected Venezuelan gangbangers under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act after the Supreme Court on Monday lifted a lower court order that blocked the deportations.
In a 5-4 decision, the high court ruled that the Trump administration was “likely to succeed on the merits” in a lawsuit filed in a Washington, DC district court challenging the removal of five Venezuelan men under the centuries-old law.
“The detainees are confined in Texas, so venue is improper in the District of Columbia,” read the conservative majority opinion.

As former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) once said, some parts of the country are so blue that a "glass of water would win with a ‘D’ next to its name."
Though Pelosi at the time was taking a not-so-subtle jab at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during their well-publicized mini-feud early on in AOC's first year in public office, the statement continues to hold true, as evidenced by the state of California electing notorious Russia collusion hoaxster Adam Schiff in the 2024 elections to serve as their next senator.

On April 1, I brought you the story of a dinner we would have all loved to be a fly on the wall for. Musician Kid Rock, one of President Donald Trump's biggest supporters, brokered a dinner at the White House between himself, UFC CEO Dana White, Trump, and liberal comedian Bill Maher, one of Trump's harshest critics. A few days later, Kid Rock appeared on the Fox News Channel several times to give some of the dinner details. He said that "it could not have gone better." Now, we are finally hearing Bill Maher's initial thoughts on the evening.

On Monday, President Trump met with Israel's leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for talks on a variety of subjects, including (unsurprisingly) Iran. But in the course of the discussion, the topic naturally turned to tariffs, which led to Prime Minister Netanyahu vowing to eliminate any trade barriers between Israel and the United States. (X Video) The Israeli Prime Minister, speaking to the assembled media, said:
I can tell you, I said to the president, we will eliminate the trade deficit with the United States. We intend to do it very quickly,

China’s retaliation against President Donald Trump’s tariffs includes more export controls on rare earth minerals, which are vital to electronics and battery manufacturing.
The Chinese government said over the weekend that it will maintain its supply of rare earths to the rest of the world stable while limiting U.S. access to the minerals. China is the world’s dominant producer of rare earth minerals, accounting for about 70 percent of the world’s supply at the moment. More precisely, China supplies roughly 60 percent of the raw minerals, but controls almost 90 percent of processing and refining capacity.

President Trump threatened Monday to hit China with an additional 50% tariff if Beijing doesn’t lower its 34% retaliatory tariff on the US by Tuesday.
“If China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated! Negotiations with other countries, which have also requested meetings, will begin taking place immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

WASHINGTON — The European Union has floated a “zero-for-zero” tariff resolution with the Trump administration after 20% import levies were imposed by Washington last week.
“We have offered zero-for-zero tariffs for industrial goods as we have successfully done with many other trading partners,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Monday.
“Because Europe is always ready for a good deal. So we keep it on the table,” she said at a press conference alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
