The father of a Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing a football star from a rival school over a seat at the stadium says his son is a “good kid” who was provoked to violence.
“Everyone has already made their assumptions about my son, but he’s not what they’re making him out to be,” Andrew Anthony told The Post.
Karmelo Anthony, 17, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a track meet, leaving him to die in his twin brother’s arms.
“He’s a good kid. He works two jobs. He’s an A student, has a 3.7 GPA,” the heartbroken dad said.

Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Prime” that the Democrats have planned so-called shadow hearings to “expose” the Trump administration’s “corruption.”
Co-host Alicia Menendez said, “You announced today a set of hearings are going to have next week with fired DOJ officials. What is it you are hoping to learn from them?”
Schiff said, “Well, today as you know, we saw the case, the corruption case against the mayor of New York dismissed with prejudice. That means that case can never be brought again. It wasn’t dismissed because of a lack of evidence.

One of former President Joe Biden’s senior aides admitted in a new book that the 82-year-old couldn’t grasp the back and forth of debate and would fall asleep by the pool while they prepped for his showdown with Trump, according to a book excerpt.
Top Biden aide Ron Klain, who helped the former president with debate prep, was “half-seriously” wondering if Biden believed he was the president of NATO rather than the president of the United States, according to the excerpt of Chris Whipple’s new book published by The Guardian. While they prepped, Klain reportedly told Whipple that the then 81-year-old president “didn’t know what Trump had been saying

The European Union is considering levying a $1 billion fine against Elon Musk’s X, alleging that the social media company has violated its law against disinformation and illicit content, The New York Times reported.
Along with the hefty fine, the E.U. would also demand that X make changes to its product, according to the Times, which cited “four people with knowledge of the plans.” If the E.U. moves forward, it would be the first fine imposed by the body using its Digital Services Act (DSA). The DSA “regulates online intermediaries and platforms … to prevent illegal and harmful activities online and the spread of disinformation.”

Hamas is ready to release all remaining 59 hostages in Gaza in exchange for a permanent cease-fire with Israel, Palestinian officials said.
As Israel ramps up its military campaign in Gaza, the terror group told negotiators it was prepared to free all its hostages so long as it gets assurance that Jerusalem will withdraw all its forces, a senior Palestinian official told the Times of Israel.
It remains to be seen if the proposal will be accepted, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long rejected any deal that does not include Hamas’ complete defeat, including demilitarization and its permanent exit from Gaza.

The teenager accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf and leaving him to die in his twin brother’s arms at a high school track meet allegedly admitted to the senseless killing — but claimed it was in self-defense.
“I’m not alleged, I did it,” 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony chillingly told police in Frisco, Texas, as he was being arrested at Kuykendall Stadium, according to an arrest warrant obtained by NBC DFW.
The horrific stabbing was sparked when Anthony, who was sitting under another team’s pop-up tent as it rained Wednesday morning, was asked by Metcalf to move — and Anthony refused, according to the arrest report.

Germany’s outgoing Chancellor voices the frustrations felt across the European ruling class at President Donald Trump tearing up the status quo on trade, decrying an “attack”.
The European Union, which has been hit with tariffs twice as high as post-Brexit Britain given the bloc’s protectionist policies and tariffs on imports, is expressing its distress and even outrage at President Trump’s bid to reform the United States’ trade relationship with the world. Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz who is still technically in power nearly six weeks after he lost the Federal elections in February spoke in defence of the globalist status quo on Thursday.
