Germany Ready to Bring Back Conscription
as Russian Belligerence Grows

If you want peace, prepare for war. Germany appears to be embracing this ancient maxim with the country’s top general warning Monday that Berlin is ready to bring back conscription. Carsten Breuer, the German Chief of Defence, told BBC’s Radio 4 an additional 100,000 soldiers would be needed to ensure the country’s ability to defend itself as a belligerent Russia continues to roil the continent. Defence chiefs have been looking to increase the size of the armed forces since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but have fallen short of even an initial target of 20,000, as Europe looks ahead to further unrest.

Europeans discovering that 'trust Russia' was a really, really REALLY bad plan. I have long posed a simple question. "If Angela Merkel was a Soviet/Russian agent, bent on destroying Germany's ability to resist Russian control, what would she have done differently from what she actually did?" Simple answer: Not one damned thing.

In the past, I have always opposed allowing Germany to establish a large military. However, I have changed my mind. In the near future, the country will need a strong military in order to repel the domestic Mecca squatters from taking over the country.

Elon Musk visited Central Intelligence Agency headquarters on Tuesday to discuss his government efficiency program. The visit was the first for Musk since the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is charged with rooting out wasteful federal spending and shrinking the government. CIA Director John Ratcliffe who invited Musk, posted a photo of him and the tech billionaire at the spy agency headquarters. "Had a great visit and meeting with @ElonMusk to discuss his ideas and progress so far in making our government more efficient!" Radcliffe wrote. "I look forward to working with Elon and his team

The abrupt withdrawal last year of President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee, followed rapidly by his replacement with Vice President Kamala Harris, irked many voters left out by the process. Yet social media seemed to ooze with enthusiasm and Gen Z-friendly hipster appeal. Influencers flooded the web with neon-matcha green pro-Harris videos synced to beats from singer Charli XCX's album “Brat” released last year. The poppy rave videos, gushed journalists, showed that Harris embodied the confidently independent "brat" vibe conveyed by the music. Social media pages bubbled with memes celebrating Harris as the voice

Liberal judge Susan Crawford has won Wisconsin's high-stakes state Supreme Court race, beating her conservative opponent Brad Schimel late Tuesday evening, according to NBC News and CNN. Her win comes despite billionaire Elon Musk pouring around $20 million into the Badger State race in attempts to see Schimel win and Crawford defeated. The entrepreneur had protested what he called "activist judges" and sought to reinforce President Donald Trump and Republican's popularity. With spending on both sides combined, this race broke records for the country's most expensive court race. The final tally could surpass $100 million.

The Democratic Party’s approval rating remains at a low point, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released to The Hill on Monday. Thirty-seven percent of voters said they approved of the party in March, just slightly up from 36 percent in February. The latest approval ratings for the party are the lowest since March of 2018. Thirty-four percent of surveyed Democratic voters and 43 percent of surveyed Black voters, a key constituency within the party, said they disapprove of the party. “Democrats continue to be seen as out of the mainstream. Republican State Senator Randy Fine has defeated Democrat Josh Weil in a closely watched special Florida congressional election to fill the seat held by National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. The result dashes Democratic hopes of pulling what would have been a stunning upset in a district that Donald Trump carried by 30 points in last November's presidential election. The narrow margin of Fine's victory on Tuesday, however, is likely to leave Republicans uneasy about their prospects in next year's national mid-term congressional elections. Democrat Weil made waves by raising more than $12m in campaign donations during this campaign, compared to the approximately $1m brought

The Trump administration cut funding to a host of Princeton University research projects, the school said Tuesday, marking the latest Ivy League campus to see federal backing reduced or revoked. The university received notifications from government agencies including the Department of Energy, NASA and the Defense Department that funding had been suspended for several dozen research grants, Princeton President Chris Eisgruber said in a statement Tuesday. "The full rationale for this action is not yet clear, but I want to be clear about the principles that will guide our response," he said. In recent funding cuts targeting Ivy League schools Harvard and Columbia,

If it weren’t for the fact that it is Democrats doing it, it would almost be shocking that there is so much opposition to the efforts of Mr. Trump, through DOGE, to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. What person, in their right mind, could possibly be against having THEIR tax dollars used wisely, not wasted on frivolous, unnecessary projects, or just flat being abused by unscrupulous politicians and bureaucrats? Even Bernie Sanders, back in 2008, is on tape saying that government waste should be excised. Why such hostility now?

By now, you know that I’m a big fan of Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) and his unmatched ability to dismantle weak arguments with his signature Southern wit. On Monday, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, he was at the top of his game, systematically exposing the complete lack of legal authority for district judges to issue universal injunctions — a favorite tactic of the left to block President Trump’s agenda. Questioning Assistant Attorney General nominee Brett Shumate, Kennedy systematically dismantled any justification for these sweeping judicial orders. "Mr. Shumate, what's a universal injunction?" Kennedy asked.
