A billion here, and a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money.
We may soon approach the "real money" stage, and perhaps sooner than we thought - but then, almost everything happening with this second Trump administration is happening faster than we thought. Between the DOGE recommendations and the Cabinet members just acting on their own to cut away the dead weight, the U.S. taxpayers have already been saved a lot of money, and on Tuesday, Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer announced that her department would be returning over a billion dollars in unspent COVID funding to the Treasury.
Now, let's make one thing clear: It's a wondrous thing

Trump Media & Technology Group said on Monday it has become the first company to be listed on NYSE Texas, handing an early boost to the exchange as it gears up for fierce competition in the Lone Star state.
The company, which operates Truth Social and is primarily owned by President Trump, said it will also list its warrants on the Texas exchange. Its primary listing, however, will remain on the Nasdaq.
The move could bolster Intercontinental Exchange-owned NYSE, which on Monday became the first exchange to operate in Texas.
The state is home to the largest number of companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with a combined market value

The White House is narrowing its search for its next nominee for ambassador to the United Nations after withdrawing Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s nomination to keep the New York Republican in the House.
According to a source involved in the process, the two top contenders under consideration are both first-term Trump administration officials: former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, and former Deputy Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat anti-Semitism Ellie Cohanim.
While Friedman likely did not need to undergo vetting due to his former high-profile role, Cohanim has undergone formal vetting, sources say.
President Donald Trump said more than 30 people are interested in the role he described as a“star-making” position

A Cornell University graduate student who had his visa revoked after pledging his allegiance to the "armed resistance in Palestine" has self-deported after a federal court twice rejected his request for a protection order.
Momodou Taal, a Gambian and British dual national, announced Tuesday night that he "took the decision to leave the United States, free and with my head held high." His statement came hours after he dropped his lawsuit against the Trump administration, in which he claimed that the president’s executive order calling for the deportation of foreign Hamasniks had a "chilling" effect on his freedom of speech and had "deprived" other students

President Donald Trump’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is nearing a historic deal with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency that will allow agents to more efficiently locate and arrest illegal aliens already ordered deported from the United States.
The IRS-ICE agreement, which anonymous sources told Politico is close to being finalized, will see the tax revenue agency open its databases to ICE agents when they need to confirm the names and addresses of illegal aliens who have been ordered deported by a federal immigration judge.
Politico, which interviewed opponents of the plan, admits that it is likely the partnership between the IRS and ICE

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, is demanding that President Donald Trump fly hundreds of suspected gang members, deported to El Salvador last month, back to the United States.
“I call on my colleagues … to demand that the Trump Administration comply with all judicial orders while appealing whichever ones they want to appeal, and to demand the return of people unlawfully taken to El Salvador on that so-called plane full of ‘gang bangers,'” Raskin said at a hearing on Tuesday.
Raskin was referring to two planeloads of

A coalition of immigration advocates has sued the Trump administration over a policy that requires migrants to self-register with the government.
The Trump administration’s interim rule points to a little-used provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act that requires anyone over the age of 14 who is unlawfully present in the country to register with authorities and alert the government of any change in address.
“This rule is an invitation for widespread abuse. We’re talking about a new reality in the United States, in which anyone perceived to be an immigrant would have to carry their identity documents any time they leave the house and be prepared to show them to

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin on Monday announced the closure of the agency’s little-visited $4 million EPA museum.
The little known museum dedicated to the environmental regulatory agency cost $4 million to build according to Smithsonian and costs more than $600,000 annually operate.
The museum could not compete with the popular Smithsonian, National Museum of History, and other Washington, DC, landmarks. Between May 2024 and February 2025, the museum, despite being free to visit, only received 2,000 external visitors. This makes the cost per external visitor roughly $315 per person.
Annual costs of the EPA museum include:

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stood before reporters on Monday and listed off multiple tariffs imposed on American products by foreign nations, arguing that the “unfair trade practices” need to come to an end.
Leavitt pointed to massive tariffs from the European Union, Japan, India, and Canada, saying, “It’s time for reciprocity.” President Donald Trump is preparing to announce a round of reciprocal tariffs on April 2, a day he has labeled “Liberation Day in America.”
“If you look at the unfair trade practices that we have: 50% from the European Union on American dairy. You have a 700% tariff from Japan on American rice. You have a 100% tariff from

House members, during their busy legislative session, which is focused on budgets and proposed tax breaks, are also taking time to complain about the food at the chamber's cafeterias and possibly make changes.
"You came to Congress. You’re so excited. I’m in this brand new office. It’s beautiful. I have this amazing staff,” Democratic Texas Rep. Julie Johnson told the news outlet NOTUS, which reported the story Monday. "And I am amazed at how terrible the food is here, given the fact that we’re the most powerful country in the world."
Democratic New York Rep. Joe Morelle expressed similar concerns.

You too can be reimbursed for up to $200, and all you have to do is protest Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk from the comfort of a Tesla dealership. It isn't clear whether the offer from the left-wing Indivisible Project covers the cost of spray paint, keys, or bail, but money is fungible — so wink-wink, nudge-nudge, comrade.
"Indivisible Project can reimburse groups for eligible expenses associated with your Musk or Us actions, up to $200 per group, per congressional recess!" the group's website reads, followed by a link to get the reimbursement form.
But here's the kicker. Since gaining social media attention, the page has been removed

President Donald Trump's mandate from the voters undoubtedly gives him wide latitude to close the border to illegal aliens, which he has done. Border crossings are down 90 percent and more illegal aliens were arrested in Trump’s first 50 days than across Joe Biden's final year in office.
Now, many in the America First movement are asking, “What about reducing legal immigration?”
Big Tech moguls Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy accidentally raised awareness of this controversial topic in December by defending—while also calling for reforms to—the H-1B visa program, which allows companies to hire specialist workers from abroad for up to 6 years. “The reason I’m in America along with
