Townhall covered how Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett shamelessly mocked Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for being paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. She did so in public remarks she gave at an event for the left-wing Human Rights Campaign. “We in these hot a** Texas streets, honey,” she said at an event for the left-wing Human Rights Campaign. “Y’all know we got governor hot wheels down there, c’mon now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a** mess, honey!”

Leftist judges want to turn President Donald Trump into a president in name only. Look at all the ways that individual judges have hamstrung the Trump administration. A district court judge recently blocked President Trump’s executive order removing transgender individuals from the military. Another judge ordered the Trump administration to send two men who are pretending to be women into a women’s prison. One federal judge ordered the administration to restore government webpages that promote the left’s transgender narrative. A different district court judge stopped the Trump administration from disbanding the wasteful USAID. Secretary of State Marco Rubio appointed Jeremy Lewin to a high-level position in USAID.

Orders for durable goods rose far above expectations in February, climbing 0.9 percent to $289.3 billion, according to the Commerce Department’s report released Wednesday. Economists had forecast a 1.0 percent decline, but instead, businesses continued to invest heavily in big-ticket items, particularly automobiles, computers, and machinery. Even excluding transportation, which can be volatile due to large aircraft orders, new orders increased by 0.7 percent, exceeding the forecast of a 0.3 percent gain. The strength of the overall durable goods orders report is further demonstrated by robust gains in key categories. Auto orders were notably strong, with orders for motor vehicles and parts rising 4.0 percent.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) on Wednesday introduced legislation to codify President Donald Trump’s executive order shuttering the Department of Education. President Trump’s executive action, signed last week, calls for the dismantling of the Department of Education, which was created during the administration of former President Jimmy Carter in 1979. However, an act of Congress is required to codify the department’s closure into law, so Rep. Ogles has introduced the Make Education Great Again Act to this end. “This bill will ensure that Congress permits President Trump’s directive to close the Department and that any cuts made by the Secretary are authorized,” an emailed summary of the measure reads.
